Mo Ming and Liufeng arrived at the Hillside Mansion where Mourning Lion had stayed, but the doorman said that Mourning Lion had already left for the day. As a doorman, he naturally did not know where Mourning Lion had gone.
However, finding someone was not a difficult task for Mo Ming and Liufeng. They immediately headed straight to Hua Shangxiang's Beauty Salon, as Hua Shangxiang usually went there for beauty treatments at this time. Once they found Hua Shangxiang, it would be easy to locate Mourning Lion.
When Mo Ming and Liufeng stepped into the Beauty Salon, the waitresses and service staff inside cast curious glances at them, likely unsure why two men were in a beauty salon, especially since there was a rule against men entering Hua Shangxiang's establishment.
One of the waitresses approached them with a standard smile: "Gentlemen, may I ask if you are looking for someone?"
"We're looking for Hua Shangxiang, the Flower President. She should be here, right? Could you please let her know that Mr. Xiu has something to discuss with her? She'll understand," Mo Ming replied with a nod and a smile.
"Please wait a moment, Mr. Xiu. I'll go inform the Flower President right away," the waitress said, not daring to delay upon hearing they were looking for Hua Shangxiang. She asked her colleagues to assist the guests while she hurried inside.
Before long, the waitress returned.
"I'm sorry, but the Flower President said she doesn't know anyone by the name of Mr. Xiu. I'm not sure if you have made a mistake. She asked me to tell you that if you don't leave soon, you will be responsible for any consequences," the waitress said politely, though it was clear that those were not Hua Shangxiang's exact words.
Otherwise, how could there be no word like "leave" in her message? It was evident that Hua Shangxiang wanted Mo Ming and Liufeng to get lost quickly; otherwise, she would not take responsibility for any outcomes.
"Wow, boss, it seems this woman really dislikes you. Did you do something bad to her? I think your skills with women are nowhere near mine; otherwise, she wouldn't be telling us to get lost. Hmm, I need to have a good chat with her," Liufeng said with his arms crossed and a smirk.
"You think you can handle it? If you can win her over, I'll worship you on the spot!" Mo Ming smiled slightly. Even if Liufeng had impressive skills with women, facing someone like Hua Shangxiang—who was into girls—would likely leave him at a loss. Mo Ming didn't believe Liufeng could awaken Hua Shangxiang's dormant feminine hormones.
"That's what you said; just wait!" Liufeng grinned mischievously and turned to the waitress: "I think while the Flower President may not know Mr. Xiu, she must know me—Liufeng. Please let her know; I guarantee she'll be happy to see me."
"Please wait a moment while I check..." The waitress looked speechless but still turned to head inside.
"I have to remind you, Liufeng, that Hua Shangxiang is not an ordinary woman. If you think you can win her over easily, you're mistaken. Let's not waste time; let's just go in and find her. I don't think this place can stop two big wolves like us," Mo Ming yawned and was about to walk inside.
The waitress walked over and respectfully said to Liufeng, "Mr. Liufeng, President Flower said she can see you."
"Wait, Old Pervert, this doesn't make sense. Why is she willing to see you but not me?"
Mo Ming was taken aback; Hua Shangxiang was actually willing to meet Liufeng?
"Is it that surprising? Hey, boss, remember to worship me. It seems she doesn't plan to see you anymore. Just wait here for a bit; I'll go in and ask what I need to know and come back out." Liufeng smirked slightly and stepped inside.
Mo Ming shrugged helplessly but didn't say much more.
Before long, Liufeng came out with a smile on his face and said, "I've found out what I needed. Mourning Lion is currently inside Sanhe Entertainment City. Hua Shangxiang also asked me to tell you that you owe her a sports car. If you don't hurry up and return it to her, you can imagine the consequences."
"Hey, Liufeng, wait a minute. Is there something going on? When did you start getting involved with Hua Shangxiang?" Mo Ming quickly connected the dots. Given Hua Shangxiang's personality, she wouldn't easily meet a stranger. Since she was willing to meet Liufeng, it meant she must know him.
"Let's talk while we walk!" Liufeng chuckled.
On the way to Sanhe Entertainment City, Liufeng recounted the whole story to Mo Ming.
It turned out that Hua Shangxiang had once been an assassin. She had collaborated with Liufeng on several occasions. Later, after failing a mission, she mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Recently, while investigating Hong Gang's affairs, Liufeng noticed Hua Shangxiang again. Moreover, during the last encounter when he was being hunted by Yin Jiu, Hua Shangxiang had helped him once.
"Wow, I can't believe the world is so small. An old friend who has been missing for years turns up here again. Did you ask Hua Shangxiang why she disappeared for so long?" Mo Ming exclaimed curiously.
"I did ask; she just gave me a simple answer. After failing a mission years ago, Mourning Lion saved her. To repay Mourning Lion's kindness, she stayed by his side to help him. You should know that we have a perverted leader who kidnapped us as children and trained us to be tools for killing and making money. To avoid being hunted down, Hua Shangxiang had no choice but to disappear," Liufeng said, his expression slightly uncomfortable when mentioning that leader but quickly returning to calmness.
"So that's how it is. It's rare for old friends like you to meet again; I guess it's fate." Mo Ming knew about Liufeng's twisted leader—a scoundrel who specialized in abducting children and turning them into killing machines—but several years ago, Liufeng had already killed him.
Actually, Liufeng was initially sent to assassinate Mo Ming, but he failed to carry out the mission. Subsequently, due to his failure, he was pursued by the assassin organization. Coincidentally, he encountered Mo Ming, who saved him, and they became good friends.
Mo Ming did not want to reopen old wounds for either of them, so he chose not to bring up any related topics.
Upon arriving at Sanhe Entertainment City, Mo Ming and Liufeng avoided unnecessary trouble by not entering through the front. Instead, they quietly infiltrated from the second floor. With their skills, they easily found the private room where Mourning Lion was located. There was no one guarding the door.
Mo Ming pushed the door open and walked in with Liufeng.
"Who?" The people inside quickly drew their guns and aimed them at Mo Ming and Liufeng.
"Heh heh. Lion Boss doesn't need to set off fireworks to welcome us, right? We just plan to join in on the fun," Mo Ming said, raising his hands and walking toward Mourning Lion with a smile.
"Alright, these two are my old friends; there's no need to be nervous. Put your guns away quickly; we have some matters to discuss, so you all can leave!" When Mourning Lion saw that it was Mo Ming, he immediately released the woman in his arms and waved his hand with a smile.
"Yes, Lion Brother." The others promptly put their guns away, stood up, and left the private room.
"Shura, you've been missing for a while. I've secretly sent people to look for you but received no news. I thought you had been taken out by Evil Eye," Mourning Lion said as he took a sip from his drink and leaned back with his legs crossed, looking at Mo Ming and Liufeng. "Who is this friend beside you?"
"Hunter Liufeng; I believe you've heard of him," Mo Ming replied with a smile.
"Oh? King of Assassins Hunter Liufeng? If I didn't know someone so famous, how could I, Mourning Lion, survive in this world? We're all friends here; there's no need for formality. Sit down and let's have a good chat," Mourning Lion shrugged and invited Mo Ming and Liufeng to take a seat.
"I was injured some time ago and hadn't contacted Lion Boss until now that I'm healed. I wanted to discuss our cooperation again," Mo Ming said as he sat on the sofa and poured himself a drink without hesitation, smiling slightly.
"No wonder I thought Sanpan City had become so quiet recently. Now that I know you're fine, I'm relieved. Our cooperation can continue. But I'm curious about how you plan to proceed. I have news that Wen Bao has returned, but Leopard Hall is still under Yang's control. I'm not sure what Yin Jiu has arranged for Wen Bao," Mourning Lion raised an eyebrow and said.
“Yang Yuan?”
“It seems so. That kid has some skills; otherwise, he wouldn't be serving as the Acting Leader of Leopard Hall as an outsider. Actually, Yin Jiu has been missing lately. I've tried to find him several times, but his confidants say Yin Jiu has gone out of town for a while and won't be back for some time,” Mourning Lion nodded and then frowned.
“Boss, could it be that Yin Jiu, that old fox, knows we are looking for him and has gone out of town to avoid us?” Liufeng said, slightly startled.
“That shouldn't be the case. Yin Jiu is definitely still in Sanpan City, but I don't know where he is hiding. Liufeng, have our intelligence network gather some information as quickly as possible!” Mo Ming raised a hand, thought for a moment, and then said to Liufeng.
“Understood,” Liufeng replied with a nod.
“Lion Boss, the cooperation will continue as usual, but you just need to secretly help investigate where Yin Jiu is. Also, help me look into where Yang Yuan is; there are some matters I want to settle,” Mo Ming said to Mourning Lion, a wicked expression on his face.
“This task is quite simple, so there’s no problem at all. I’ve received news that Yang’s crew should be at the headquarters of Leopard Hall. You should be able to find him there. Also, inside there…” Mourning Lion relayed all the specific details about Leopard Hall to Mo Ming without missing a word.
About an hour later, Mo Ming emerged from Sanhe Entertainment City, while Liufeng had vanished without a trace; it was unclear what he was up to. Mo Ming got into a taxi and calmly said, “Liu Pan Street.”
The taxi slowly drove out onto the street and then turned left.
