"Who is this person?"
"Luo Qianshan!" the two said in unison.
If Mo Ming directly announced after analyzing all this information that the person who betrayed the operation was Luo Qianshan, it would make his speculation seem rigid and unconvincing. However, by asking Huang Zifeng and Mo Zhentian for their guesses to arrive at a conclusion, Mo Ming's speculation would seem almost true.
"Heh, I never said it was him; I just analyzed the situation. If you all think the betrayer is Luo Qianshan, then perhaps it is him," Mo Ming said with a light smile and a shrug.
What impressed Mo Ming most about Luo Qianshan was that although he was over fifty years old, he looked only in his early forties. He was the planner of the operation, and after its failure, he was also the one who insisted that Mo Ming was the traitor!
Luo Qianshan had a good political background; both his records and public persona were spotless, almost suspiciously so. In everyone's eyes, he represented fairness and was a model citizen, and it was believed that he would soon become a general!
"Luo Qianshan is over fifty years old but looks only in his thirties. The gap between appearance and age isn't a big deal in this advanced cosmetic society," Mo Ming pondered while stroking his chin. "There’s something strange I barely remember, but when I mention Luo Qianshan, it comes to mind."
"What is it?" Huang Zifeng and Mo Zhentian asked in unison again.
"There’s something I think you know better than I do, old man," Mo Ming said to Mo Zhentian with a smile. "You should be aware of Luo Qianshan's skills. Even when my master, Death God, was alive, he wasn't his match back in the day, right?"
"Stop talking nonsense; I know about him very well!"
Mo Zhentian frowned and nodded. "Luo Qianshan comes from a martial arts family. Although that family has declined, he learned quite a bit of martial arts since childhood and is indeed skilled. When he was in his thirties and Death God was in his twenties, Death God once lost to him. Why are you bringing this up suddenly?"
"Well, I wonder if you noticed that during Luo Qianshan's forty-fifth birthday party, you took me to visit him. At that time, he clearly looked like he was forty-five years old," Mo Ming continued with growing confidence. "But during that operation, I found that Luo Qianshan had become younger, looking like someone just over thirty! He seemed full of vitality and showed no signs of being middle-aged!"
"Damn it! Now that you mention it, I also find it strange. Luo Qianshan has indeed changed quite a bit; however, in this era of advanced cosmetic surgery, what's so unusual about looking younger?" Mo Zhentian said with a wry smile and shook his head.
Huang Zifeng seemed to understand what Mo Ming meant and smiled as he said, "Actually, what you're implying is that both Luo Qianshan and Overlord are highly skilled fighters; perhaps this Overlord is actually Luo Qianshan!"
"Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Discussing this matter has cleared up many doubts in my mind," Mo Ming nodded. "Why can the supreme leader of the Dark Order recruit experts like Overlord, Evil Eye, and Lord to serve him? The reason is simple: Eternal Life!"
When Mo Ming said this, he clearly mocked himself with a smile. "You might think I'm crazy; I think I'm crazy too. Eternal Life is nothing but an illusion—something even Qin Shi Huang couldn't obtain—how could it possibly exist?"
Huang Zifeng and Mo Zhentian remained silent but appeared deep in thought.
"However, sometimes many things are beyond your disbelief. I remember someone once told me, 'Existence is reason enough; do not deny it!'" Mo Ming recalled the mysterious young master he encountered at the airport. Before leaving, he had given him a perplexing piece of advice.
He had told himself, "Existence is reason enough; some things simply are, and they are not false. Your opponent is not simple!"
Mo Ming had always struggled to understand what the young man meant by those cryptic words, but now he thought perhaps the young man wanted to convey that the supreme leader within the Dark Order possessed extraordinary abilities. Perhaps this ability was to achieve Eternal Life!
"Uh, you really are too profound; I can't make sense of it," Huang Zifeng said with a wry smile, shaking his head. "The topic of Eternal Life has been studied by ancient scholars, but no one has succeeded. I believe in Marx, but when you tie it to Luo Qianshan, I seem to believe it a bit more."
"Perhaps what Mo Ming said is true," Mo Zhentian seemed to recall something, his brow furrowing into a straight line. "I remember a couple of years ago when a group of old friends gathered for an arm-wrestling match; Luo Qianshan absolutely refused to play. Eventually, we teased him so much that he had no choice but to arm-wrestle with Death."
"The result was, of course, that Luo Qianshan lost," Mo Ming interjected.
If Overlord truly was Luo Qianshan, then when he could regain his youth, he certainly would not expose the power he obtained to everyone. Given his age and declining strength, if he were to be outperformed by Death—who regularly trained as a Special Forces soldier—that would be too suspicious!
"Yes, he lost," Mo Zhentian nodded and let out a heavy sigh, his expression serious. "At that time, out of personal bias, I paid special attention to Luo Qianshan and noticed that he deliberately lost; from start to finish, he never exerted himself!"
This bias stemmed from Mo Zhentian's dissatisfaction with Luo Qianshan forcing Mo Ming to leave the military—a sentiment any father would likely have!
"Given all this, I believe Luo Qianshan is the high-ranking Overlord within the Dark Order," Mo Ming stated. "Luo Qianshan is Long Chengtian's brother; the leader of the Crown Prince Faction is Long Batian's uncle. Therefore, Luo Qianshan's relationship with them is also close. I suspect that Luo Qianshan might be the one leaking information."
"You can't say such things lightly. Luo Qianshan has made significant contributions and is highly valued by the Leader. If you slander him without solid evidence and he hears about it, he'll definitely retaliate!" Mo Zhentian realized the seriousness of the issue and immediately warned.
To accuse a major general based solely on speculation is no trivial matter. If someone seized upon this and made a big deal out of it, it could lead to trouble. Mo Zhentian did not want to expose himself to danger and wait to be bitten by dogs!
Huang Zifeng was also clever enough to know that some things should not be said lightly. After pondering for a moment, he said, "According to Shura's speculation, I also think Luo Qianshan has an undeniable suspicion. Since Su Luan received information about this matter, it must have come from the Crown Prince Faction. Therefore, whoever has the closest ties with them bears the greatest suspicion! For now, let's categorize this as speculation and not spread it recklessly!"
"Old man, I'm not an idiot; I know that mere speculation cannot prove anything against Luo Qianshan. This is just in the speculative stage. Next, I will focus on Luo Qianshan and the Crown Prince Faction. I believe that if we want to confront the underground tumor known as the Dark Order, Luo Qianshan and the Crown Prince Faction will be our entry point!"
Mo Ming narrowed his eyes slightly; a murderous intent flickered beneath them. It seemed that those who betrayed their actions were gradually surfacing. No matter how high this traitor stood, as long as there was solid evidence in hand, no matter how high they stood, they would fall hard!
"I think when everything is revealed, the entire upper echelons of the country will be thrown into chaos. After the New Year, I need to have serious discussions with those old comrades; we must prepare in advance to minimize any turmoil." Mo Zhentian took out a cigarette and gently tapped its tip against his back before lighting it.
The old comrades Mo Zhentian referred to were among the largest factions in Huaxia. This faction was led by the Leader and included many elders of comparable status to Mo Zhentian; they were pillars of national security in Huaxia—patriots who loved their country more than their families!
With his keen intuition, Mo Zhentian seemed to foresee an invisible storm approaching. He had to seize the opportunity to resolve internal conflicts before the storm hit; otherwise, once the storm passed, the upper echelons of Huaxia would need a complete overhaul.
"Well, I won't interfere with matters at that level; it's all up to you, Old Master Mo. However, I will discreetly have the Dragon Group keep an eye on Luo Qianshan's faction. As soon as we have any news, I will collaborate with the information network of Shura to gather substantial evidence against Luo Qianshan's faction to prevent him from doing anything that could endanger our nation's security!"
When it came to patriotism, Huang Zifeng, this younger generation, was no less committed than those before him. Having been instilled with patriotic ideals since childhood, he would rather see himself perish than do anything harmful to the country, let alone allow scheming individuals to undermine it!
"Director Huang, I hope we can work together harmoniously!"
Mo Ming extended his hand to shake Huang Zifeng's, and after chatting for a while longer, Huang Zifeng took his leave. Mo Zhentian invited him to celebrate the New Year together the following day. Huang Zifeng smiled but did not agree. Mo Zhentian understood that Huang Zifeng was a workaholic who could not rest for even a moment, so he did not press him.
That evening, Zhu Hanying cooked a feast with her three daughters-in-law. The family gathered joyfully around the table, enjoying food and drinks while chatting about everyday life. Such moments in a family like this were truly precious—rarely found even over several years or more.
In this harmonious family atmosphere, Mo Ming looked at Zhu Hanying and Mo Zhentian's joyful smiles and felt an even stronger desire to eliminate the "Dark Order," this malignant tumor. Once the Dark Order was eradicated, he could marry Murong Lian, Jun Qianqian, and Lin Yuan'er, allowing Zhu Hanying and Mo Zhentian to enjoy family bliss sooner.
Unfortunately, the road ahead was long and arduous; the endeavor to eradicate the "Dark Order" had yet to even begin. It was uncertain who would ultimately be eliminated; it was possible that he himself could end up being the one removed. This uncertainty was also why Mo Ming had previously hesitated to accept a new relationship.
He could not offer anyone stability or make any promises of growing old together. However, after Murong Lian and the other two women persistently knocked on his heart's door, his closed-off heart began to open. Whether for himself, for his brothers, or for his family, he refused to allow himself to become a failure!
