"Joke, how would Reed know about the meteor's fall?" Miyu snorted through her nose and said, "When that Meteorite fell, not to mention Reed, even his ancestors hadn't been born yet, so naturally, the Frank Family wouldn't know."
"Then how do you know?" Mo Ming pressed on, a teasing smile curling at the corners of his mouth. "Don't tell me you're actually a thousand-year-old fox spirit. If you say that, I might just believe you even more."
To divert Miyu's attention, Mo Ming made a sarcastic remark to better extract the information he wanted.
"Hah, if I were a fox spirit, I would have swallowed you whole by now. You're the first one to ignore my warmth!" Miyu rolled her eyes at Mo Ming without anger and said seriously, "I might as well tell you that we learned about the Meteorite and its effects from a rather ancient book. Otherwise, who could have imagined that there would be such a magical existence beneath an ancient castle standing for over a hundred years?"
From her demeanor, it was clear she wasn't lying. It seemed she firmly believed in the existence of the Meteorite and its miraculous effects.
"Hah, do you think an ancient history book is credible? The ancients pursued ideals greater than heaven, filled with mythological elements everywhere. How much of what’s in ancient texts can be trusted?"
Mo Ming continued to probe. Although he didn't fully believe what Miyu said, he recalled the miraculous breakthrough while being imprisoned in the underground chamber of the castle and the words of the mysterious young man he encountered near the airport. He found himself believing three parts of the effectiveness of the Meteorite beneath Rider Castle.
"Existence is reason enough."
This statement held no falsehood; as long as something exists, it is reasonable. Regardless of whether it was previously dismissed as falsehood, once it appears, no one can refute its existence because it indeed exists.
The world is vast and full of wonders; what exists is real. There are too many unknowns; anything can happen. The existence of something as peculiar as Spiritual Energy doesn't seem strange at all.
However, if such a defying thing truly exists, Mo Ming would be interested in obtaining it. The ability to absorb spiritual energy from heaven and earth would be extremely useful and could help elevate his strength.
Mo Ming clearly remembered all the contents of the ancient book titled "Spirit Gathering Technique" given to him by Lord Qian. One line related to Spiritual Energy: "Heaven and earth divide into yin and yang; heaven is yang, earth is yin. The center gathers Spiritual Energy. In ancient times, those who practiced martial arts strengthened their bodies and cultivated inner strength; when Spiritual Energy is thin, inner strength is hard to achieve. If heaven and earth remain unchanged and Spiritual Energy is abundant, cultivating inner strength isn't difficult; this is what practitioners seek."
The translation roughly means that if there is abundant Spiritual Energy in heaven and earth for cultivation, then achieving inner strength isn't difficult. This was how Mo Ming understood it; however, the book did not specify what exactly Spiritual Energy was.
Nonetheless, the book did provide methods for absorbing Spiritual Energy. Mo Ming had tried practicing them but unfortunately made no progress. Now that he thought about it, it might have been due to insufficient Spiritual Energy. This meant that possessing a Meteorite capable of absorbing heavenly and earthly spiritual energy could provide an opportunity to cultivate inner strength.
This temptation was truly immense for Mo Ming. If he obtained it, he might gain enough power to deal with the Evil Eye, the Overlord, and even the final operator of the "Dark Order. Regardless of whether this Meteorite exists or not, he would never allow the plans of the Heavenly Ninja Group to succeed!
"Haha, I'm just telling you what I know. As for whether you believe it or not, I have no interest in knowing. Anyway, I've told you everything; your curiosity should be satisfied now," Miyu smiled and said. "Shura, you're a man I both love and hate. I've killed too many stinky men already, but I can't bear to kill you."
"Is that so?" The corners of Mo Ming's mouth curled slightly as he replied with a smile. "Whether you love or hate me, I'm not sure. But I do know that you can't bear to kill me because there's a devil inside you telling you that I must bow down to you, isn't there?"
"Maybe," Miyu replied noncommittally. "Shura, just wait; I'll find a way to make you bow down. Whatever I want to achieve as Miyu, I will accomplish at any cost."
Regarding this woman who was crazily eager to conquer men, Mo Ming didn't want to argue any further. No matter what means she employed, he would never bow down to her because he was Shura—a man with a fearsome reputation.
"I have to say, you Heavenly Ninja Group are really crazy. To scheme against Reed for something unrealistic, haven't you considered the consequences?" Mo Ming did not respond to Miyu, but instead changed the subject, continuing to probe for information.
Knowing oneself and knowing the enemy ensures victory in every battle.
At this moment, although he was a captive, it was indeed the best time to extract information from the enemy. How could Mo Ming let this opportunity slip away? Only by understanding the opponent's plans could he easily crush the Heavenly Ninja Group's conspiracy when he had the chance to escape.
"Yes, we have considered it before, but we know that without entering the tiger's den, how can we catch the tiger cub?" Miyu said with a slight smirk, "Originally, we planned to make more preparations before taking action against Reed, but your appearance forced us to change our plans."
"Are you saying that thanks to my appearance, you came up with the plan to kill with a borrowed knife?" Mo Ming replied without a hint of anger. Being at the mercy of others was indeed frustrating, but given how things had progressed, being angry seemed foolish. What he needed to do now was find a way to resolve the predicament before him.
"Haha..." Miyu laughed triumphantly, "Yes! The current plan is proceeding so smoothly thanks to you. If it weren't for your sudden appearance, how could we have executed such a brilliant strategy?"
"So your treatment of someone who helped you is to treat him as a captive?" Mo Ming smiled lightly and said, "Perhaps if you let me go and we cooperate, your plan might be easier to achieve. I have no intentions regarding the Meteorite you desire."
"Cooperate? It could have been possible, but you harbor murderous intent towards my Father, and you're quite terrifying. I don't want to let a tiger return to the mountain. Asura, don't waste your efforts; I won't let you leave here alive." Miyu shook her head with a smile, her eyes sparkling with delight. "I think the biggest war in Y Country is about to begin. The two major forces, the Frank Family and the Dragon Soul Gang, will suffer significant losses. At that time, our Heavenly Ninja Group can take advantage of this opportunity to control the Frank Family. What can't we do then?"
As she spoke, Miyu laughed proudly at the perfect execution of their plan.
"Oh, it seems you're quite pleased," Mo Ming maintained his calm expression. "You just don't understand the principle that too much joy brings sorrow? From your words, I've picked up on something."
Miyu frowned tightly as she stared at Mo Ming, feeling somewhat puzzled. This Mo Ming knew that the Dragon Soul Gang would face great danger yet showed no signs of shock; his calmness was terrifying, making her reconsider.
"What did you pick up on?"
"Don't be nervous; now that I've caught you here, I can't stir up much trouble." Mo Ming teased. "It's just that from your words, I know that even if I went missing, the Dragon Soul Gang and the Frank Family did not immediately go to war. What does that imply?"
After pausing for a moment and seeing that Miyu's frown deepened further, he continued: "Even if I went missing, they would suspect something about my disappearance, wouldn't they? This means your plan isn't progressing as smoothly as you'd hoped."
"You really can guess well. Indeed, the Dragon Soul Gang and the Frank Family haven't gone to war yet; both sides have their concerns. Plus, with Y**'s intervention, there hasn't been any conflict so far. But it will happen soon—once Reed is dead, war will begin." A fierce glint flashed in Miyu's eyes as she spoke with a somewhat sinister smile: "Just wait, Asura; you should just stay here and nurse your wounds until I come to... teach you!"
Mo Ming remained noncommittal.
Regarding Miyu's provocative demeanor, Mo Ming clearly didn't want to waste any more words; after all, her plans were bound to fail. So far, no one had ever been able to trample over him at will. Regardless of his circumstances, Mo Ming always managed to turn danger into safety.
Seeing that Mo Ming showed no reaction at all made Miyu even more furious; her desire to conquer him grew stronger. However, having said what she needed to say and with other matters awaiting her attention, she would have immediately taught him a lesson otherwise.
But now there was no time; thus, Miyu lazily stroked Mo Ming's face before laughing heartily and leaving directly. After she left, the room returned to silence once more.
"This woman is really getting on my nerves, so flirtatious, simply beyond redemption. I need to think of a way to get out of here."
Mo Ming thought to himself, furrowing his brow. He didn't care much about Miyu's heavy tastes; he was just worried about the safety of the Dragon Soul Gang. The Frank Family had lost control over Reed, and chaos was bound to ensue.
In Y Country, the influence of the Frank Family was so great that the government dared not easily eliminate Reed. If Reed were to die, who would be the suspect? Without a doubt, the prime suspect would be the Dragon Soul Gang.
Today, among all the forces in Y Country, there was no one else brave enough to challenge the Frank Family except for the Dragon Soul Gang.
As soon as Reed dies, all suspicion will be overshadowed by hatred. There’s no need to think twice; the people from the Frank Family will definitely label their enemy as the Dragon Soul Gang. By then, a showdown between the two major forces will be inevitable.
The start of this showdown will surely disrupt social stability. Even if the government fears an economic collapse, they will have to intervene; otherwise, public outrage could lead to economic disintegration. A showdown means that both the Frank Family and the Dragon Soul Gang will suffer significant losses, and ultimately, the beneficiary will be the Heavenly Ninja Group. If Miyu steps in again, won't the Frank Family fall into the hands of the Heavenly Ninja Group?
Killing Reed is a crucial step in this plan; there is only one chance. Whether or not the plan can be successfully executed depends on this critical step.
As Rossi's daughter-in-law, Miyu can easily appear by Reed's side. Naturally, Reed would have no guard against her. Assassinating an unsuspecting Reed would be as easy as drinking water.
"I can't just sit here and wait for death; I must quickly think of a way to get out. If Reed really dies, it would be impossible to defend myself," Mo Ming thought quietly.
