The driver drove wildly, feeling like a racer from Initial D. After about ten minutes, the car finally came to a stop.
"Are we there?" Mo Ming asked.
The driver turned around and said, "Of course! I told you I’d take you to the nearest hotel. How could I cheat you? But remember, it's double the fare. You can't trick me; we're both honest citizens here. I won't take you on a wild goose chase to scam you."
Finally encountering a good person, Mo Ming felt touched and directly pulled out three times the fare from Murong Lian's wallet, handing it to the driver with enthusiasm. "For your honesty, I'm giving you three times the fare. Count it; it's more than enough, no need for change!"
After saying that, Mo Ming opened the car door and slung Murong Lian over his shoulder, only to be stunned—was this really a hotel?
"Hey, kid, how's it going? I'm a good guy, right? I know it's tough for you to pick up girls, so I specifically found you a hotel with lower rates. No need to thank me; I wish you success tonight!" The driver leaned his head out of the window with a mischievous grin before driving away.
Mo Ming's expression darkened as he looked up at the sign: Couple Hotel. One of the characters was even flickering.
This was a small street, and this "hotel" was the only place that seemed lit up. It felt like no one had been here in ages. Calling it a hotel was generous; it was just an Inn—a very run-down one at that.
"It seems the driver saw my shabby outfit and thought that with a beauty like Murong Lian by my side, I must be looking for a one-night stand? Suddenly, I feel like the driver really cared for me, worried I couldn't afford the room and brought me here..." Mo Ming glanced around; there wasn't a single car in sight, and this was the only inn available. Reluctantly, he decided he had no choice but to stay here.
Mo Ming carried Murong Lian into the so-called Couple Hotel. At the front desk sat an older man who was engrossed in chatting on his computer.
Glancing at the screen made Mo Ming's skin crawl—the man's online name was From the Stars' Oppa, and he was chatting with a female friend online. They were deep in conversation, with the man claiming he looked like Edison Chen and had a body like that of a wealthy model...
It was as disgusting as it could get; if it weren't for Mo Ming's strong willpower, he would have already run off to gag in disgust.
The older man seemed completely absorbed in his chat. Mo Ming stood there for quite some time before he finally noticed him and asked, "Hey there, when did you arrive? Why didn't you say anything?"
"Seeing you so engrossed in conversation, I didn't want to disturb you," Mo Ming said with a smile. "I want to book two rooms, so please give me the two best ones; money is not an issue."
The man glanced at Mo Ming, and when he noticed the stunning figure of Murong Lian on his shoulder, his eyes widened, turning into a lecherous gaze that almost made him howl with desire. Mo Ming frowned slightly in disgust at the man's sleazy expression.
The man quickly averted his gaze and nodded meaningfully. "Young man, you have good luck with the ladies. Finding such a beautiful girl—I'm quite envious."
"Just give me the rooms quickly. Do you think it's easy to carry around a living person like this?" Mo Ming replied, his tone tinged with anger.
"Young man, no need to get so worked up," the man said as he fiddled with the computer. "All the rooms are the same; there are no best ones."
"Then hurry up and give me two rooms," Mo Ming slammed his hand on the table in frustration. His earlier good mood was ruined by the man's disrespectful gaze towards Murong Lian.
The loud bang startled the guests upstairs, and someone immediately shouted, "What the hell? It's late at night; can't you be quiet and let people work?"
Seeing Mo Ming's furious expression, the man dared not provoke him further. "Business is too good tonight; there's only one room left. Do you want it?"
"Only one room?" Mo Ming frowned, feeling fatigue in his shoulders. "I'll take that room!"
"Alright then, the room costs one hundred yuan, plus another hundred as a deposit. No need to show your ID; just write down a name for registration," the man said, pointing to a green notebook on the counter.
Mo Ming wrapped his arms around Murong Lian and accidentally brushed against her curvy backside. He quickly moved his hand down to her thigh and retrieved two large bills from her wallet, placing them on the counter. He picked up a pen and swiftly wrote down his name: Mo Ming.
Seeing Mo Ming's frail appearance yet able to carry a full-grown person while writing, the man immediately gave him a thumbs-up in admiration. "Impressive." With that, he took out a room key and placed it on the table.
Mo Ming was too lazy to argue with him and reached out for the room card. However, just as his hand was halfway there, an unexpected hand appeared and quickly snatched the room card away. Mo Ming's expression immediately darkened as he glared at the person who took the room card.
The person was in his early twenties, sporting a perm that looked like a bird's nest, with stubble all over his face, exuding a strong air of a delinquent. He waved the room card in front of him and arrogantly declared, "This room card is mine now."
An older man frowned and said something reasonable, "Young man, he has already paid for this room card, so it belongs to him. What you're doing is a bit unreasonable." After saying that, the older man quickly shut his mouth, fearing he would provoke the delinquent, while Mo Ming's expression grew even colder.
"Stop babbling. If I say it's mine, then it's mine." The delinquent said rudely as he wrapped an arm around a student-like girl he brought along and attempted to push past Mo Ming to go upstairs. The girl looked up at him in admiration and said, "Wow, Brother Qiu, you're amazing! So impressive."
"Of course! Just look at that loser. If he dares to say no to me, I'll make him regret it!"
The delinquent was clearly asking for trouble and seemed oblivious to the fact that Mo Ming was already furious. Just as they were nearing the stairs, Mo Ming swiftly ran past Murong Lian, lifted a leg, and kicked the delinquent hard, sending him crashing down on the stairs with his chin hitting the steps.
"Ah!"
The girl shrieked in fear and covered her ears as she stepped aside.
The delinquent got up, moved his mouth slightly, and spat blood on the ground along with two teeth. Holding his jaw, he glared at Mo Ming angrily and said, "You dare mess with me, Brother Qiu? Are you looking for death?"
As he spoke, the delinquent swung his fist at Mo Ming. Mo Ming responded with another kick that sent the delinquent flying; he crashed against the stair railing and hurt his waist, unable to stand up.
Mo Ming walked over, and the delinquent fearfully backed away, saying in panic, "What do you want? Don't come any closer!"
"Give me the room card." Mo Ming's voice was cold and carried an undeniable authority.
Having experienced Mo Ming's strength firsthand, the delinquent no longer dared to act tough and quickly returned the room card to Mo Ming.
Mo Ming took the room card and looked at the panicked girl, advising, "You should hurry home and study harder in the future. Following someone like that will lead to no good."
After saying this, Mo Ming carried Murong Lian upstairs. The room was on the third floor, and he effortlessly lifted her all the way up without even breaking a sweat, which showed he was quite fit, contrary to how weak he appeared.
He opened the door and walked in, then closed it with his right foot. He approached the bed and tossed Murong Lian onto it. Stretching his shoulders, he remarked, "This woman is really heavy; carrying her is exhausting. My shoulders are a bit sore now."
Feeling sticky from sweating, Mo Ming quickly went to the bathroom for a shower. Once he was clean, he emerged wearing a bathrobe prepared in the bathroom.
On the bed lay Murong Lian, completely drunk and sprawled out like a puddle of mud. She had assumed a position that resembled the character for "walk" on the pristine white sheets. Since she was wearing a black jumpsuit, her figure was partially exposed in that pose.
Seeing such a sight made Mo Ming's throat feel dry. After swallowing a few times, he shook his head and sat down on a chair. He took out a pack of Camel cigarettes from his pants pocket, pulled one out, placed it in his mouth, and began to smoke.
"Don't act impulsively, Mo Ming. You're flirtatious but not lewd; you can't take advantage of someone in this state. If you do something bad to Murong Lian, you'll definitely regret it later..." Mo Ming savored the taste of the cigarette, trying to resist Murong Lian's alluring temptation.
"...Hmm, it's so hot... I feel so uncomfortable... My body feels like it's on fire," Murong Lian mumbled drunkenly as she tugged at her clothes. In reality, Mo Ming had already set the air conditioning to its lowest setting; the room wasn't hot at all. It was just that Murong Lian was feeling the effects of alcohol.
In her dazed state, Murong Lian actually began to remove her jumpsuit, revealing herself completely in the room...
This scene inadvertently caught Mo Ming's attention, making him exclaim, "This is too bold; it's clearly tempting me to break my resolve... No, Mo Ming, you have to hold on; you can't give in."
Feeling restless, Mo Ming quickly turned away and took several deep puffs of his cigarette. While it tasted good, at that moment, it seemed that the beauty before him was even more enticing. He took a few more puffs before extinguishing the cigarette and standing up. He hurried over to the bed in an attempt to cover Murong Lian's exquisite form with a blanket.
"What is this?"
As Mo Ming pulled at the blanket, he noticed numerous bloodstains on it and felt an ominous premonition wash over him as he recalled finding sanitary pads in Murong Lian's bag earlier at Feng Lai Hotel.
"This damn aunt came at the worst possible time, why couldn't it have been earlier or later? This is just not the right moment!"
Mo Ming had never encountered such a situation before and felt a bit embarrassed and at a loss.
"Should I help her change?" Mo Ming quickly dismissed the thought, shaking his head. "No, that would be too inappropriate. It’s not right to see someone undressed without their consent..."
"But if she doesn't change, won't it be bad for her health? Getting an infection is no joke..." Mo Ming pondered for a moment and sighed. "If only I had my phone, I could look it up online."
Mo Ming shook his head with a wry smile, realizing that despite his extensive knowledge, he felt helpless in this situation. Caught in a moral dilemma between right and wrong, Mo Ming finally decided to take the plunge: "If I'm going to die, then so be it. Whatever consequences come, I'll take responsibility. Let's do this!"
"I just hope nothing goes wrong with your body; otherwise, I'll be in trouble." Mo Ming took a sanitary pad from Murong Lian's bag and hesitated again. "Damn it, I've never used this before. How am I supposed to do this?"
Fortunately, there was an instruction manual on the sanitary pad. Although Mo Ming had never used one before, he fiddled with it according to the instructions for a while and finally managed to get it right. He wasn't sure if he did it correctly, but he followed the instructions as best as he could. After finishing, Mo Ming quickly covered Murong Lian with a blanket and rushed to the bathroom to splash cold water on his face to cool down.
After washing up, Mo Ming stepped out and glanced at the sleeping Murong Lian. Remembering what had just happened added more fuel to his frustration. He quickly dismissed any inappropriate thoughts, turned off the lights, and sat down in a chair to sleep.
