Darkness enveloped everything around her.
This was the third night.
Lu Kenian lay on the bed, blindfolded, with a cloth stuffed in her mouth. Her hands and feet were tied to the four corners of the bed, bound in an extremely humiliating position.
She could see nothing and make no sound.
"I want a son! You worthless woman! Give me a son!"
That furious and high-pitched voice echoed in her ears once again, followed by a wave of intense pain.
Lu Kenian cried tears of pain, but unfortunately, no one could see them.
The man filled her body completely, crashing into her without any regard for her feelings.
Lu Kenian felt as if her body was about to fall apart; she was on the verge of fainting, yet the pain kept her awake time and again.
"You whore! I want a son!" The man's voice had a hint of hoarseness.

For the past two days, Lu Kenian had repeatedly heard this phrase.
To be honest, she didn't even know how she had fallen into this predicament.
Just two days ago, on her way home from work, she had hit someone with her car and was preparing to gather money for a private settlement. On her way to the bank to withdraw cash, she was directly captured and taken away in a sack.
When she woke up, she found herself in this dark place.
The man charged at her with even more ferocity than the previous days, and for a moment, Lu Kenian thought to herself that perhaps it would be better to just die.
She lost track of time, but eventually, this torment came to an end.
A strong hand suddenly grabbed her hair, lifting her head up.
"Filthy woman, if you can't give me a son, then you might as well die!"
The man said this through gritted teeth.
Lu Kenian's heart sank; she vaguely felt that this voice was so familiar, yet she couldn't recall who it belonged to.
He pressed her head forcefully against the pillow and finally left her body.
There were rustling sounds in the room, likely the man getting dressed. The door opened and then closed again.
Lu Kenian remained sprawled on the bed, wondering why this man kept insisting that she bear him a son.
Could it be that she was meant to be a surrogate?
As he emerged from the dim room, the man's aloof and proud face finally came into the light.

His deep eyes glinted with a cold light, devoid of any emotion.
The next day, Cold Thunder changed his clothes from inside out, tossing the discarded garments straight into the trash before driving to the hospital.
In the hospital room, pale-faced Chu Yun smiled gently. " Cold Thunder, you’re here."
Cold Thunder finally revealed a hint of a smile as he sat by Chu Yun's bedside.
"Are you feeling any better?"
"Much better, didn't I tell you? You're so busy with work, you don't need to come see me every day. There are doctors and nurses here, and the caregiver you hired, it's not a problem."
Chu Yun's voice was soft and gentle.
She was always so understanding.
Cold Thunder didn't say anything. He picked up a bowl of millet porridge nearby, tested its temperature, and then brought a spoonful to Chu Yun's lips. After she finished the porridge, he even wiped the corner of her mouth for her.
But suddenly, Chu Yun fell into sadness, tears streaming down her face.
" Cold Thunder, you don't have to be this good to me. Once I'm discharged, let's break up."
"Why are you crying again?" Cold Thunder hurriedly grabbed a tissue to help wipe her tears.
"Your family already looks down on me because of my background. I'm not worthy of you. Now I... I can't even have children anymore. I don't want to burden you. Let's just break up."
A few days ago, Chu Yun had been in a car accident and was rushed to the hospital. Her uterus had ruptured, and due to the emergency situation, the doctors could only save her life by removing her uterus.

The secretary immediately followed him with a stack of documents.
"Call Manager Lu to my office."
" Mr. Cold, Manager Lu hasn't been to work for several days."
Cold Thunder suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked at his secretary. "She’s getting bolder! How can she not come to work for several days without informing me?!"
"This morning, Mr. Lu's father came to the company and said there was an urgent matter back home. Mr. Lu has gone back and won't be returning for a while. If there's a suitable candidate, someone will take over Mr. Lu's position."
"What?"
Cold Thunder immediately took out his phone and made a call.
"Sorry, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable."
Cold Thunder hung up in disgust.
A month later, Cold Thunder received news that the woman was pregnant with twins.
Two months later, the doctor said at least one of the children was a son; the other was unclear.
In the blink of an eye, Lu Kenian's belly had grown to eight months; because it was twins, her belly appeared much larger than that of an average eight-month pregnancy.
However, she was emaciated, looking haggard and lacking any vitality.
Because she was pregnant, she finally no longer had to endure that man's brutality and was no longer bound hand and foot.
Since becoming pregnant, that man had never come back.
Lu Kenian sat on the balcony, sunlight bathing her entire body, warming her up, but her heart felt completely cold.
"Eat this bird's nest." A strange voice came from nearby.
Lu Kenian slowly opened her eyes to see an unfamiliar servant she had never seen before. She supported her waist and stood up to walk to the table.
Since becoming pregnant, a steady stream of supplements had been sent over. She had to take them at regular intervals each day, with the servants watching her until she finished.
At first, she would resist, but the result of resisting was being held down by several servants who forced it down her throat, so she eventually learned to comply.
Lu Kenian obediently ate the bird's nest. As the servant prepared to leave with the bowl, she noticed Lu Kenian had grabbed her hand.
"Is there something you need?"
