On the way back to Buzhou Mountain, Fuxi suddenly asked, "What’s going on between you and Hongjun?" While others might not know, Fuxi and Nüwa were aware that it was indeed possible for Ye Chuanze and Hongjun to have a close relationship. However, if they were to be considered master and disciple, there might be something more to it. Fuxi had previously asked Ye Chuanze about his relationship with Hongjun, and at that time, Ye Chuanze had not claimed that he was Hongjun's disciple. Based on Fuxi's understanding of Ye Chuanze, he would not lie or hide anything from him.
Upon hearing this, Ye Chuanze explained, "The situation between us is quite complicated. Initially, I had to call him 'master' to climb up the ranks; he neither opposed nor agreed to it. Naturally, I never truly considered myself his disciple. Later on, as you all know, he suddenly acknowledged me as his disciple. Honestly, I’m just as puzzled as you are! Fuxi, what do you think Hongjun is up to?"
Fuxi tilted his head slightly and glanced at him, saying, "What could he possibly want from you? What do you have that would make someone remember you?"
Ye Chuanze felt belittled by Fuxi's words and retorted angrily, "I’m full of treasures; there are plenty of people who want to take advantage of me!"
Fuxi twitched the corner of his mouth and turned away as if he hadn’t seen him.
Nüwa interjected, " Ye Chuanze, that’s rather ungrateful of you! Since everything is fine now, why didn’t you send us a message? Do you know how worried my brother is about you? If it weren’t for you, why would my brother have stayed behind to offend that Hongjun Daoist today?"
Most people would feel touched and guilty upon hearing this and quickly apologize for causing concern while also thanking Fuxi for his care. However, as previously mentioned, Ye Chuanze had a sharp tongue and often tested people's patience with his words. Upon hearing Nüwa's statement, he merely raised an eyebrow and replied, "Is it just Fuxi who’s worried about me? Nüwa, aren’t you being a bit heartless? We’ve known each other for a while; if something happened to me, wouldn’t you care at all? How sad! My heart is shattered!"
Nüwa immediately scoffed coldly and replied, "Are you relying on your slick tongue to win over Hongjun Daoist and entice him into taking you as a disciple?"
"..." Ye Chuanze.
"I originally thought that Hongjun Daoist was unfathomably powerful; now it seems... he’s nothing special," Nüwa continued.
"...I like hearing that." Ye Chuanze thought Nüwa was indeed sharp-tongued; her words struck down two targets at once. He was quite pleased to hear someone disparage Hongjun. It would have been even better if she hadn’t included him in the conversation.
Nüwa shot him a glance and said, "That Hongjun Daoist must be blind; how could he take a heartless person like you under his wing?"
After hearing Ye Chuanze, she smiled lazily and said, "Don't say that. Between him and me, who knows who is worse!"
Nüwa snorted coldly and fell silent.
Fuxi, in a good mood, spoke to Ye Chuanze, saying, "In the future, do not call Hongjun Daoist by name. Since you have taken him as your master, you must respect your teacher."
"I know this. Don't worry. I only say this in front of you; I will be careful in front of Hongjun and others."
Upon hearing this, Fuxi shook his head inwardly. The relationship between the master and disciple was indeed strange. Their interaction showed no respect or fear typical of such a relationship; instead, it resembled the casualness of long-time friends. Well! He could not interfere in their matters; let them be!

After returning to Buzhou Mountain, Fuxi and Nüwa entered seclusion to cultivate and comprehend the teachings they received at Purple Cloud Palace. This time, Ye Chuanze did not follow suit. While at Purple Cloud Palace, Hongjun often lectured him by the lotus pond, allowing him to gain a deeper understanding of Dao Law and steadily improve his cultivation. During the second lecture at Purple Cloud Palace, most of the Dao Law Ye Chuanze heard was already known to him, so he felt no need to enter seclusion.
After staying at Buzhou Mountain for a few days, Ye Chuanze grew restless and set out on a journey. He truly admired Hongjun for being able to endure the loneliness in the high and desolate Purple Cloud Palace. There was nothing there; he couldn't even find someone to talk to. Didn't he feel bored?
Ye Chuanze recalled an even earlier time when the world had just begun to take shape, when the Dragon and Phoenix Clans still existed, and Hongjun was wandering outside. When Ye Chuanze encountered Rahul, Hongjun was engaged in a duel with a man from the Dragon Clan. It seemed that beneath Hongjun's indifferent exterior back then lay a fighting spirit; now it was likely worn down by time.
Ye Chuanze traveled eastward, where the Primordial lands were mostly fertile, while the west was largely barren. Jieyin and Zhun Ti came from that desolate western land; in terms of origin, they were indeed inferior to the eastern immortals. It wasn't that their talents were lesser than those of the eastern immortals; rather, their upbringing in a barren land limited their cultivation progress, which is why they sought Spiritual Treasures in the east. The eastern immortals saw them coming from the west to seek treasures and simply let them be. No matter how much they searched for treasures, they would only acquire a few Spiritual Treasures; being overly calculative would make them seem petty. After all, the east was vast and abundant; it wouldn't miss those two Spiritual Treasures.
Little did they know that Jieyin and Zhun Ti sought more than just a few Spiritual Treasures; they aimed to transform their barren western land into one as prosperous as the east. The west was desolate, so they went east to borrow resources. What was lacking in the west would be taken from the east. Jieyin and Zhun Ti hailed from the west; thus, it was their root. No one would abandon their roots even when faced with the temptation of wealth and prosperity. Without roots or support, one’s heart has nowhere to rely.
Currently, Jieyin and Zhun Ti lacked stability and strength; naturally, they did not dare to borrow excessively from the east but instead tirelessly traveled across eastern lands day and night to familiarize themselves with its geography and resources for future needs.
Ye Chuanze was flying high in the sky when he encountered a mountain peak. Suddenly, he sensed a disturbance in the magical energy coming from the Lower Realm, indicating that someone was fighting there. Hesitating for a moment, he stopped his flight and decided to descend to see who was engaged in battle.
The landing spot was a lush forest filled with ancient, towering trees that twisted and turned, casting deep shadows as they blocked out the sunlight. The area was exceptionally cool, with a hint of chill in the air, contrasting sharply with the warm climate outside where sunlight shone directly. Although Ye Chuanze had no physical form and was merely a Primordial Spirit, he should not have been able to feel changes in temperature. However, at this moment, he sensed a coldness within his Primordial Spirit, as if something sinister lurked within the forest.
Ye Chuanze manifested his ethereal form and sat on the Lotus Platform, moving toward the source of the magical fluctuations. Upon approaching, he discovered that a pure white nine-tailed fox was locked in a life-and-death struggle with an Evil Jiao. The Evil Jiao was transformed from a Black Serpent, its scales partially shed, with claws beneath its belly, suggesting it had just advanced but had not fully transformed into a dragon yet. Typically, beings undergoing such an advancement would not attack others, as they were at their weakest during this time; engaging in combat could lead to dire consequences.
Could it be that the nine-tailed fox initiated the attack? Ye Chuanze focused on the fox, noting its snow-white fur and lively, adorable appearance, which showed no signs of ferocity—unlike those who thrived on killing. In contrast, the Black Serpent exuded an ominous aura, indicating it was not a righteous being. More importantly, why would this nine-tailed fox attack the Black Serpent? Generally speaking, beings at their level of cultivation would cherish their lives and prefer to hide until they successfully transformed.
Ye Chuanze pondered this unusual situation, sensing something strange about it.
"Please help me, senior!"
A faint voice reached his ears. Looking up, Ye Chuanze saw the nine-tailed fox gazing at him with pleading eyes. The attacks from the Black Serpent grew fiercer and more relentless, each strike aimed at taking its life. The nine-tailed fox bore several wounds that were torn open, blood flowing from them; it seemed unable to withstand much longer.
"Senior, I did not initiate this attack; it is this Evil Jiao who covets my demon core and seeks to take my life to aid its transformation into a dragon."
Upon hearing this, Ye Chuanze raised his gaze and replied calmly, "I will trust you this once. For the sake of our shared kinship as demons, I will lend you my assistance this time. However, if I find you have deceived me, I will not spare you!" His voice turned cold and imposing as he spoke the last part.
"I wouldn't dare! This little demon wouldn't dare!" The nine-tailed fox quickly responded.
The Primordial Demon Clan consisted of countless members; any creature that gained consciousness could cultivate. Once they successfully passed through their tribulation and transformed, another member would be added to the demon race. Thus, the proliferation of demons occurred rapidly; Primordial beings were everywhere among them. The most esteemed among nine-tailed foxes was the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, regarded as the ruler of their kind residing in Azure Hill. The nine-tailed fox before him was merely an ordinary Fox that had cultivated nine tails and could not be compared to the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox.
Although Ye Chuanze had never seen a Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, he had heard about it from Di Jun. Whenever Di Jun mentioned the current clan leader of the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, Kitsunetsu, who resided in Azure Hill, his face would contort with anger and gritted teeth. The reason for this animosity stemmed from an incident where Kitsunetsu had offended Di Jun. Known for befriending powerful demon beings, it seemed to Ye Chuanze that such alliances were somewhat aimed at recruiting future subordinates.
The Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox clan is one of the most favored races by the heavens, aside from the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans. Any Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox that cultivates to attain nine tails possesses strength that approaches that of a Quasi-Saint. If they have the opportunity to advance further, they can truly achieve Quasi-Saint cultivation. Di Jun recognized this and went to Azure Hill to seek friendship with the current leader of the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox clan, Kitsunetsu. In Di Jun's eyes, Kitsunetsu was merely a second-generation demon of the Primordial race, a child left behind by the previous leader of the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox clan, not someone born into greatness. By associating with his peers, he was already lowering himself in status, unaware that Kitsunetsu did not appreciate his intentions.
"Our Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox clan is a Primordial spirit race, favored by the heavens. While we do not dare to compare ourselves to the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans, we are certainly not inferior to your demon race," Kitsunetsu said slowly, with a smile that seemed to dim the very heavens.
Di Jun was left speechless after trying to ingratiate himself only to be slapped in the face by rejection from Kitsunetsu.
Di Jun was also a proud Great Divine Power demon. Being so bluntly rejected by Kitsunetsu made him withdraw immediately, turning cold and leaving without another word. From that moment on, enmity was established between him and Kitsunetsu.
In the forest, a chilling wind swept through, causing Ye Chuanze's Primordial Spirit to shiver as his expression turned inscrutable.
The Nine-Tailed Fox gradually found itself at a disadvantage in its life-and-death struggle against the Black Serpent and had sustained several injuries. It quickly called out to Ye Chuanze for help: "Senior, save me!"
Ye Chuanze cast a cold glance at the Nine-Tailed Fox before lowering his gaze. He summoned the Black Lotus and called forth a bolt of Purple Thunder that struck the Black Serpent. Upon impact, the Black Serpent let out an enraged roar as its massive body convulsed several times before collapsing.
Seeing this, the Nine-Tailed Fox rejoiced and hurried over to slice open the Black Serpent's abdomen with its sharp claws, retrieving a black demon core which it promptly swallowed. In an instant, black mist dissipated, transforming the Black Serpent's corpse into a half-meter-long version of itself.
Ye Chuanze sat quietly on the Lotus Platform, observing this scene with cold indifference.
