Upon hearing this, everyone present was shocked and stood up from their seats. Even the elderly Grand Elder Azure Water and the calm Second Elder Qinghui showed expressions of surprise and stood up.
How could they not be astonished? The Three Major Sects were established in independent spaces created by their ancestors, and outsiders could not invade without significant strength. When Qing Mu Yan rushed into the main hall with the five elders, they felt a chilling aura invading the hall. They saw that outside the hall, everywhere was filled with white ice sculptures; the trees, rocks, and ground in the garden had all turned into blocks of ice. What shocked them even more was the eerie silence outside. Through the main door of the hall, they could see that members of the Azure Gale Sect had been frozen into ice sculptures—some were fleeing while others were frozen mid-motion as ice pillars.
At that moment, Qing Mu Yan and the five elders felt a chill in their hearts. What kind of magical beast could be so terrifying? They knew that outside there were many Blazing Flame Calamity beings and some Yin Thunder Tribulation entities present.
Second Elder Qinghui stared at the ice sculptures outside in shock and said, "What kind of magical beast is this? It's so terrifying that even I, close to Yin-Yang Thunder Calamity, might not stand a chance against it."
No one answered his question because everyone shared the same doubt. Especially Qing Mu Yan, who found it even more perplexing. In his view, they had never provoked such a magical beast nor had they ever encountered one so fearsome.
Suddenly, Qing Mu Yan's heart sank as he muttered to himself, "Could it be her? Wasn't she supposed to be executed by the dragon clan? Is she now here to assist the dragon clan in some plan?"
The elders looked at Qing Mu Yan in confusion and asked, "Does the sect master know something?"
At that moment, a fresh and ethereal woman appeared before them, walking step by step toward the main hall. She wore a light blue off-shoulder gown, and at that moment, Qing Mu Yan and the others felt the chilling aura intensifying.
Instantly, all six of them became alert and watched this woman warily; she seemed like someone who had stepped out of a fairyland. It appeared as if she walked from a distant place but instantly entered the main hall.
Upon entering the hall, she wore an innocent smile while looking at them. Her face was shrouded in layers of icy mist; apart from Qing Mu Yan, the Grand Elder, and Second Elder, no one else could see her features clearly.
Both sides stood silently for a moment until Qing Mu Yan finally spoke: "To possess such powerful abilities as a magical beast and to wield ice... If I am not mistaken, you must be one of the last Frost Dragons of your clan."
"How rare! After being gone for so long, you still know so much about us," the woman did not deny it and lightly laughed while covering her mouth.
This beautiful woman before them was Po Xuan, who had escaped amidst chaos; upon hearing her acknowledgment, the five elders were about to take action. However, Qing Mu Yan stopped them.
Second Elder, being younger and confused, asked: "Sect Master, she has admitted it and has killed so many of us. Why are we not allowed to act?"
"Don't rush, I still have questions for her," Qing Mu Yan said, turning to Po Xuan. "The Dragon Emperor led the entire dragon clan to destroy your whole family, yet you still choose to help them. You truly are loyal."
Huo Feng was also taken aback. He had used “Meteoric Steps” to appear behind him, but he didn't expect Li Dan's movement technique, Combat Techniques, to be so exquisite that it could evade him so quickly. At that moment, Nangong Yu and Xuanran also approached, and Huo Feng did not rush to attack but asked, "Who are you? Why are you following us?"
Li Dan quickly thought of a plan. Hearing their words, he realized they probably did not know he was a Shadow Demon. A wise man does not suffer losses in front of him. He hurriedly said, "Please don't misunderstand, I see that you are all young. "Dear brothers and sisters, you must believe me! If you don't trust me, I will immediately disappear from your sight and promise never to appear again," Li Dan said nervously; he did not want to lose his life.
In truth, the three were still quite young and had not killed many people before, but they were genuinely afraid that he might be a spy. At this moment, Huo Feng smiled and said, "Brother, we believe you. We are also young and eager to gain experience here. However, after hearing what you said, we are indeed a bit scared. You seem very familiar with this place and are kind-hearted; why don't you lead us? We want to go to the Shadow Cave."
Upon hearing this, Li Dan felt a glimmer of hope; this way he could not only complete his mission but also save his life. However, when he heard Huo Feng mention going to the Shadow Cave, his heart sank significantly. Wouldn't that mean it would be life-threatening? When they were several miles away from the stronghold, Li Dan suddenly stopped and turned to face Huo Feng and the others. So we must hurry," he said as he activated “Shadow Fade” and rushed eastward.
Immediately, Huo Feng and the others noticed something was off with this route; it definitely felt suspicious. The three of them sped up in pursuit. Seeing that they were catching up quickly made Li Dan secretly laugh in his heart: "Hmph! You will regret showing mercy towards me when your moment of death arrives."
Huo Feng did not use “Meteoric Steps” because it could only be used three times total and had already been used once; he wanted to save it for a critical moment. Instead, he used “Phantom Steps” to closely follow behind them while gradually closing the distance. Nangong Yu stayed beside Huo Feng, while only Xuanran, having fallen behind due to reaching level six of the Connection Realm, lagged behind.
While feeling proud of his cleverness and mocking the foolishness of Huo Feng and the others, suddenly two inexplicable presences surged from behind him. Startled, Li Dan accelerated and turned around only to see one of Huo Feng's arms transformed into a Golden Dragon Arm.
“Earthquake Strike”
Huo Feng raised the Golden Dragon Arm and slammed it down towards the ground. Li Dan, seeing this scene, was terrified and used all his strength to activate “Shadow Fade” in an attempt to escape Huo Feng's attack range. But at that moment, Li Dan realized that his feet were immobilized; he had overlooked a woman—Nangong Yu.
Nangong Yu had her hands pressed against the ground, with tendril-like strands of Origin Force seeping into the earth. Meanwhile, Li Dan's feet were entangled by the surrounding weeds that had spread out to bind him. Li Dan opened his mouth to plead for mercy, but just then, Huo Feng's attack came crashing down. Li Dan felt a wave of dizziness wash over him, followed by a sweet taste in his mouth as blood trickled from the corner.
At that moment, Xuanran rushed over, panting heavily, and said, “You guys are bullying me; I'm exhausted.” Xuanran looked at Li Dan, who had just regained consciousness and appeared lifeless.
Xuanran strode up to Li Dan and said fiercely, “Damn you! I didn't expect you to be a real Shadow Demon, making us afraid of mistakenly killing an innocent.” With that, he punched Li Dan squarely in the face.
Li Dan clutched his face in pain, crying out, “Please, don’t kill me! I’ll really take you there this time. I swear! Please don’t kill me!”
Seeing Li Dan's pitiful state, Xuanran lost interest in dealing with him further. Huo Feng stepped forward, took out a knife from the Narcissistic Ring, and waved it in front of Li Dan's eyes. “You’re scared of dying, right? Then you better answer honestly when I ask you questions.”
“I will tell you everything I know as long as you promise not to kill me,” Li Dan replied tremulously while looking at Huo Feng.
“How many people are there in Shadow Cave? How many of you are active outside? Which specific areas do you operate in? What is your strength?” Huo Feng bombarded him with questions while signaling Nangong Yu to bring over the map.
