Zhong Kui's Diary
Hearing this, Kong Xuan was quite dismissive: "Once you reach my level, a couple of people shooting won't pose any threat. I'm not bragging; unless three or five people shoot at the same time, I really won't be afraid!"
"Yes, you're not bragging; you're just showing off. Damn, being friends with you is really exhausting!" I laughed and scolded, "Enough nonsense, quickly sharpen your eyes. There might be invisible people here, or demons."
Upon hearing this, Kong Xuan paused, took out a Willow Leaf, rubbed it on his eyelids, chanted a spell, and then handed the Willow Leaf to me, asking me to open my eyes as well.
I firmly refused; it was enough for him to see. There was no need for me to open my eyes too. In fact, I hadn't used that Spell in a long time and had already forgotten the incantation.
Kong Xuan snorted and casually flicked the Willow Leaf onto me: "Keep it well; it might come in handy later."
I smiled and put away the Willow Leaf as we continued forward.
After turning left and right for about ten minutes, we finally arrived at a large hall. This hall was much bigger than the one in the fake secret passage and even had some furniture inside—tables, chairs, and a TV cabinet. On the TV cabinet sat an LCD television with a DVD player on top of it, beside which was a stack of discs. Additionally, there was a bed in the corner.
The bedding on the bed was piled high, looking as if someone was sleeping under it with their head covered. Moreover, under the flashlight's beam, we could see the bedding slowly rising and falling. Clearly, the person beneath it was breathing.
Kong Xuan and I exchanged glances and set our flashlights to diffuse mode, placing them upright on the table. With everything prepared, I shouted sternly: "Who is it?"
Before my words fell silent, an unexpected change occurred. The bulging bedding on the bed suddenly stood up as if it had a life of its own and lunged toward us like a playing card.
Kong Xuan reacted faster than I did; a red light ball formed in his palm. He pushed with both hands, and the light ball shot out, colliding with the bedding with a dull thud.
I had witnessed the power of that red light ball before; when combined, it resembled a massive fire meteor. If the light ball burst open, its scattered brilliance would be like a Meteor Shower with astonishing power—just a little Starburst could blow a Big Pit into the ground.
I initially thought that Kong Xuan's red light ball would penetrate through the bedding and directly hit the person behind it. To my surprise, when the red light ball landed on the bedding, it sounded like a red-hot iron ball dropping into water—hissing loudly as thick white smoke billowed from the bedding before the red light ball vanished without warning.
What kind of bedding is this? Is it specially made for Buddha to battle against Queen Mother? How is it so powerful?
After neutralizing the red light ball, the bedding only paused briefly before swiftly lunging at us again.
"Quickly unleash lightning!" Kong Xuan shouted at me sternly: "What are you dawdling for? Waiting for the referee to call 'start'?"
I snapped back to reality and pointed my Spell; a bolt of lightning as thick as an arm struck directly at the bedding.
To be honest, when I am bored, I have fantasized about various opponents, striking tigers and lions with lightning, attacking monsters and Demons, and even thought about using it against the Judgment of Life and Death. However, I never imagined that I would use lightning to strike a bedspread, and that this bedspread looked somewhat dirty.
With a crackle, the lightning hit the bedspread, which trembled violently as if it were alive, as though someone was standing behind it, desperately resisting my lightning.
Seeing an opportunity, Kong Xuan formed a red energy ball in his hand and swung it forcefully, smashing it onto the bedspread. The trembling of the bedspread intensified.
"Ha! Let's see how long you can hold on!" I exclaimed, raising my hand to unleash another bolt of lightning. This time, with a loud crash, the bedspread was directly torn into pieces by my lightning, scattering bits of cotton fluff everywhere.
Strangely enough, amidst the flying fluff, there was no sign of anyone; it was as if we had just been fighting against a living bedspread.
Just as I was about to ask Kong Xuan what was going on, I noticed him throwing another red energy ball. It zipped through the empty hall and smashed into the opposite wall, creating a large explosion of Starburst and leaving a huge crater in the wall.
What was Kong Xuan doing? Had he gone mad?
"Hey! What are you standing there for? Keep attacking!" Kong Xuan shouted angrily as he waved his hands continuously, launching fireballs and Wind Blades towards the front. His red energy ball was a powerful attack that couldn't be used continuously; it needed time to cool down.
"What are we attacking?" I asked in confusion.
"Motherfucker! Open your eyes!" Kong Xuan yelled furiously. "Hurry up and open your eyes; this is the Invisible Man!"
Meanwhile, he was flailing around like a lunatic, casting various spells in rapid succession.
Hearing Kong Xuan's words startled me. I quickly took out a Willow Leaf and rubbed it on my eyelids while loudly reciting incantations: "Adasisarahi... Doremi Faso... Bazahei... Yardie... Mali Mali Hong... Damn it, what was the incantation again?"
Just as Kong Xuan was about to answer me, there was a loud bang as his head snapped back and blood spurted from his nose. Just as I wondered what kind of attack that was, I suddenly realized he had been punched in the face.
Without thinking twice, I threw a Nine Divine Thunder in front of Kong Xuan. With a crackle, I faintly heard a gasp coming from somewhere.
"Damn it! That almost hit me!" Kong Xuan leaped back and cursed loudly.
"Quick! Tell me the incantation!" I shouted.
Another loud bang echoed as Kong Xuan flew backward as if someone had kicked him in the chest. I could even see his facial muscles contorting in pain.
Feeling anxious, I unleashed a silver-white pillar of lightning directly in front of Kong Xuan. If someone was pursuing Kong Xuan, this bolt of lightning would surely delight them.
Kong Xuan staggered back two steps, clutching his chest and gasping for breath before saying, "Domzowongdanakalu!"
I quickly repeated, "Domzowongdanakalu!"
Suddenly, my vision darkened as if I had put on sunglasses. At the same time, I saw a Black-Clad Youth bypass my lightning and swiftly charge toward Kong Xuan, throwing punches. Kong Xuan cursed and retaliated, and in an instant, the two were entangled in a flurry of fists and kicks.
I aimed my Spell but couldn't lock onto the Black-Clad Youth due to their rapid movements. Frustrated, I shouted, "Hey, you two, slow down a bit!"
Kong Xuan glanced back at me amidst the chaos and saw me sneaking around with my Spell. He quickly yelled, "Don't use lightning; you might hit me! Just come in and throw punches!"
Realizing he was right, I retracted my Spell, clenched my fists, and charged forward to throw a punch at the Black-Clad Youth's head.
Setting aside the Spell for now, based purely on martial arts skills, the Black-Clad Youth was on par with Kong Xuan—perhaps even slightly better. Just moments ago, he had already landed a punch and a kick on Kong Xuan.
As I swung my fist, the Black-Clad Youth showed no signs of panic. He dodged Kong Xuan's side kick and then transformed his left hand into a blade to strike at my wrist.
I smirked and infused Devouring Energy into my wrist, ignoring his attack as I continued on my path.
With a loud thud, the Black-Clad Youth's hand struck my wrist. The Devouring Energy I had gathered there caused his palm to nearly deform from the impact.
"Shit!" the Black-Clad Youth exclaimed as he pushed off the ground and retreated three meters away, vigorously shaking his left hand while shouting, "I'm not fighting anymore!"
"You’re not fighting? Just like that?" Kong Xuan sneered and raised his hand to conjure another red energy ball. This time it exploded in mid-air into millions of Starbursts that rained down toward the Black-Clad Youth.
"Damn! You're shameless!" the Black-Clad Youth cursed as he pushed forward with both hands. A golden Light Screen appeared like a massive shield, blocking all the Starbursts outside of it. The red Starbursts fell like rain against the Light Screen, creating ripples.
"Looks impressive; let me add some spice," I chuckled and sent a lightning bolt as thick as my arm toward the Black-Clad Youth's head.
I'll zap you dead!
The Black-Clad Youth let out a strange cry, tilting his head upward with furrowed brows. From his forehead emerged a golden-hued divine beast that roared in response to the lightning. With a crackling sound, this beast became entangled with the bolt of lightning.
Amidst the shimmering silver light, the divine beast revealed its true form. At that moment, I was somewhat dumbfounded; I thought it was some kind of Ancient Divine Beast, but to my surprise, this creature, glowing with golden light all over, turned out to be a pig!
A wild boar, baring its teeth and growling fiercely.
In the roar of the wild boar, my Nine Divine Thunder was completely devoured by this pig.
Damn, I couldn't believe it. Here I was, a Grandmaster, unable to deal with this pig. I shouted and summoned another bolt of lightning.
"Stop fighting!" the Black-Clad Youth shouted sternly.
Although the Light Screen in my hand was blocking Kong Xuan's attacks and the wild boar above was consuming my Nine Divine Thunder, it was clear that the Black-Clad Youth was struggling immensely. I could see his chest rising and falling rapidly, his face filled with distress and anxiety.
"Let's keep fighting! I promise I won't kill you!" I said with a smile. Meanwhile, I had already prepared the Five Thunder Strikes spell in my hand. So what if you have a pig that can eat lightning? Let's see if it can handle hundreds of bolts of lightning; even if your pig is all mouth, it probably can't eat that much lightning.
Just as I was about to unleash it, the Black-Clad Youth shouted, "If it weren't for me, you would have been blown to bits long ago! Is this how you treat your savior?"
Hearing this from the Black-Clad Youth, Kong Xuan and I exchanged glances and instantly withdrew our spells. A true man must distinguish between gratitude and resentment; we couldn't just kill our savior without hearing him out first.
