What happened to the Seventh Master?
What could possibly trouble the Seventh Master?
In the Drunken Lady's impression, under normal circumstances, whenever the Seventh Master encountered a difficult situation, he would always handle it quietly on his own and never mention it to her.
Could it be that tonight the Seventh Master summoned her because the matter was related to her?
If it were unrelated, the Seventh Master would never have hurriedly asked to see her.
Before the Drunken Lady could ask more questions, the Seventh Master had already hung up the phone.
Without further thought, the Drunken Lady turned her car around and drove towards Wanshou Lake in the northern part of the city.
Half an hour later, the Drunken Lady arrived at the Seventh Master's study.
Under the chandelier, the Seventh Master sat upright in a rattan chair, his expression dark and serious.
"Godfather, what do you need me for?" Upon seeing him, the Drunken Lady straightforwardly asked.
The Seventh Master gazed at the Drunken Lady for a moment before responding off-topic, "Charming Jade, can't you just call me Dad? Why do you always insist on calling me Godfather?"
Hearing this from the Seventh Master, the Drunken Lady's expression immediately turned cold. She stood up abruptly and said, "If you called me here in the middle of the night just to discuss this matter, then I will leave right now!"
"No, no, no... Charming Jade, please sit down. I have other things to talk about!" In a moment of panic, the Seventh Master grabbed the Drunken Lady's hand.
The Drunken Lady sharply pulled back her hand and coldly said, "If you have something to say, just say it quickly. I still need to go home and rest!"
"You can stay here tonight..." Seventh Master replied.
Before Seventh Master could finish his sentence, the Drunken Lady immediately refused, "No way. What is it? Just speak plainly!"
Seventh Master seemed to be used to the Drunken Lady's indifference; he twitched his lips for a moment before sighing, "Charming Jade, you really should work on your temper..."
"What do you want from me?" Clearly, the Drunken Lady was not buying his act.
"Alright, alright, I... I’ll say it... Uh, Charming Jade, after dinner tonight, did you see that Boss Miyoko Matsuno from the Paradise Beauty Club gave me a box?"
"Yes, wasn't that a gift from her to you?"
"But you know, after you all left, I opened the box and there was nothing inside..."
"Uh, is she playing with you?"
"No, although there was nothing inside, there was a letter addressed to me."
"A letter?"
This piqued the Drunken Lady's curiosity. She then asked, "What kind of letter was it?"
"Why don't you take a look for yourself?" Seventh Master handed the letter to the Drunken Lady.
Drunken Lady took it over and frowned.
This was not a letter at all, but a blank piece of paper with not a single word on it.
Seventh Master seemed to sense Drunken Lady's dissatisfaction and said, "Do you think the reason I gave you this is because it's a blank piece of paper?"
Drunken Lady snorted coldly and replied, "Yes!"
It seemed she felt toyed with by Seventh Master, and her expression was quite unpleasant.
Seventh Master's face grew darker as he said, "That letter was written with a special ink. After I read it, within two minutes, the writing disappeared upon exposure to air!"
"What? How could this happen?" Drunken Lady could tell from Seventh Master's expression that he was not lying.
Seventh Master looked utterly dejected, which was something he had never shown before.
"Charming Jade, tell me the truth, have you fallen for Long San?" Seventh Master suddenly asked.
Drunken Lady was slightly taken aback by Seventh Master's question and asked, "Why do you ask that?"
Seventh Master replied, "Just tell me yes or no."
Drunken Lady sneered and said, "Godfather, do you think I would? Aren't you asking a question you already know the answer to? With my reputation and status as Drunken Lady, how could I possibly like him?"
Seventh Master glanced at her and realized she was speaking from the heart.
Because of this, his expression became increasingly complex and tangled.
"Charming Jade, if you don't like him, then give him up. That new Miyoko Matsuno from the Paradise Beauty Club is not someone you and I can contend with!" Seventh Master sighed.
Drunken Lady angrily replied, "Why? You told me back then to do whatever it takes to win Long San over to our side. Even if we can't subdue him, we can't let him fall into someone else's hands... Godfather, what exactly did that Miyoko Matsuno tell you in the letter that made you so hesitant?"
Indeed, Drunken Lady found it hard to understand why Seventh Master, who had always been influential in Sapporo, suddenly changed after receiving a letter from Miyoko Matsuno.
This was not Seventh Master's style at all.
She knew very well that although Seventh Master had retreated behind the scenes, as long as he called out, various forces spread throughout the city would dare not disobey him.
It could be said that as long as Seventh Master stepped forward and waved his hand, the situation would change dramatically; he remained the old boss, commanding respect and attracting followers.
After hearing Drunken Lady's question, Seventh Master sighed again, "Alas, Charming Jade, let me tell you the truth. This Miyoko Matsuno is not a simple character. Even if our two forces combined, it would be like moths to a flame—it's simply courting death!"
Drunken Lady found what Seventh Master said quite amusing and replied, "Miyoko Matsuno is just the Boss of Heavenly Beauty Company. What's so terrifying about that?"
"But you don't know her true identity. Charming Jade, there are some things that are really hard to say..." Seventh Master suddenly realized he had spoken too much and hurriedly stopped himself.
Drunken Lady was bewildered and said, "Godfather, what are you talking about? I don't understand at all."
"Uh, Charming Jade..." Seventh Master hesitated.
Drunken Lady shouted angrily, "No matter who this Miyoko Matsuno is, I must use Long San's help to obtain that Heart-Cleansing Pearl. I can't watch my senior sister lose her life, nor can I stand by and let others take over my territory!"
“Charming Jade……” Seventh Master deeply regretted that his careless words might bring disaster to Drunken Lady.
He sighed and said, “It's my fault for talking too much. Charming Jade, don’t ask too many questions. Just stop what you’re doing and don’t associate with Long San anymore. As for your senior sister, that’s her fate. The lost opportunity, in my opinion, is better left behind!”
“No way! Since I’ve decided to do this, I must see it through. I have to save my senior sister!” Drunken Lady declared confidently.
Seventh Master looked at Drunken Lady and momentarily lost his train of thought, reflecting on how much her temperament resembled his own from years ago.
“Charming Jade, are you really going to do this?” Seventh Master asked, slightly leaning forward.
Drunken Lady shot him a disdainful glance and coldly replied, “Once I’ve made a decision, I will not back down. If you’re scared, just step aside; I won’t drag you down!”
“How can you say that about me? Am I Seventh Master, the kind of person who fears for his life?” Seventh Master felt a bit angry at Drunken Lady’s words.
With a cold snort, Drunken Lady said, “Godfather, if there’s nothing else, I should be leaving!”
“Alright, Charming Jade, just remember that our discussion about Miyoko Matsuno tonight must not be leaked to anyone. Otherwise, it will be harmful to both of us!” Seventh Master cautioned.
Seeing the fearful expression on Seventh Master’s face, Drunken Lady couldn’t help but smirk sarcastically and said, “Haha, Seventh Master, you’re not as impressive as you think. Don’t worry; I know how to handle things without your instructions!”
What puzzled Drunken Lady was what kind of letter Miyoko Matsuno had sent to Seventh Master, causing him to suddenly change his mind and become so frightened.
