How did Kato Masakazu end up with these two?
It makes sense, though; Kato Masakazu was once the Deputy Director of City Hall, so it’s only natural that he knows both of them. The problem is that all three of them have been involved with Xiao Yun, and today they just happened to run into each other.
Well, like attracts like; these three probably share a mutual understanding, so it's not surprising they ended up together.
When Kato Masakazu saw Xiao Yun behind his sister, his expression became complicated as he coldly asked, “What are you doing here?”
Not only was Kato Masakazu taken aback, but Matsuda Kohei and Zheng Feng also found the situation strange. It’s true that enemies often meet; how did this guy end up here?

Just as Xiao Yun and Kato Masakazu were stuck at the door in an awkward standoff, Madam Kato came out from the kitchen. Upon seeing her daughter, she immediately approached her and said, “Yoshiko, you’re here!” Then noticing Xiao Yun, she paused for a moment before asking her daughter, “Is he Yuko’s boyfriend?”
Kato Yoshiko replied, “Yes, Mom. Didn’t you want to meet him? I brought him for you!”
"Hello, Aunt!" Xiao Yun took the opportunity to present a gift and bowed to her.
Madam Kato appeared to be in her mid-fifties, but she was well-preserved, with fair skin, wearing a pair of glasses and dressed in an elegant blue kimono. Her every movement exuded nobility and elegance, embodying the qualities of an intellectual woman.
From her appearance, it was clear that both Kato Yoshiko's sisters had inherited her traits. One could imagine that she must have been a natural beauty in her youth.
Madam Kato clearly had a good impression of Xiao Yun's appearance and smiled, "Oh dear, why did you spend so much money on all these gifts? It's too extravagant!"
As Xiao Yun entered, Madam Kato pointed to Kato Masakazu and his daughter, saying, "I heard you were bringing Yuko's boyfriend over, so I specially called your brother here. "Aunt, it's quite a coincidence," Xiao Yun said with a smile to Madam Kato upon noticing the unfriendly gazes from the three men. "I've known Zheng Yi and his two friends for quite some time!"
Madam Kato laughed and said, "Oh, so you all know each other! How wonderful!"
"Yes, it's quite a coincidence indeed!" Kato Masakazu scoffed coldly.
Xiao Yun continued, "Haha... Zheng Yi is right; we are all good friends. Perhaps this is fate!"
Fate?
Hearing his words, Kato Masakazu was so angry that he almost spat blood.
He was just about to explode when Xiao Yun grabbed his hand and said softly, "Brother Zhengyi, Kato Miyoko asked me to send her regards. If you have time, I would like to invite both of you to dinner."
As soon as Xiao Yun said this, Kato Masakazu was immediately choked up.
Kato Masakazu's relationship with his cousin was something his mother didn't know about. If she found out that her son had shamelessly taken advantage of his own cousin, wouldn't she be furious enough to die from anger?
He could tell that Xiao Yun was warning him through this conversation.
There was no way Kato Miyoko would send him regards; she probably wanted him dead.
What puzzled Kato Masakazu was how this oddball in front of him had eaten his older sister and yet was now his sister's boyfriend.
This afternoon, he had met with Matsuda Kohei and Zheng Feng to discuss how to deal with Xiao Yun, but unexpectedly, in the blink of an eye, this guy had made a dramatic turn and became his brother-in-law.
Was this some kind of rhythm leading to leaving the planet?
Kato Masakazu was filled with rage but, with his mother present, naturally didn't dare to say anything more.
"Thank you!" Kato Masakazu shot a glare at Xiao Yun and said.
"Hey, don't just stand there! Everyone, please sit down!" Madam Kato called out to everyone in the room, and they all took their seats at the table.
It seemed that Madam Kato had been busy preparing for the future son-in-law all afternoon. Just as a few people sat down at the table, she brought out the dishes.
"Sister, why didn't Wu Zhao'en come today?" Kato Masakazu asked Kato Yoshiko.
It seemed this guy was intentionally trying to stir up trouble.
Kato Yoshiko smiled and said, "Brother, you know that Mom doesn't like to see him either."
Kato Masakazu sighed with feigned regret, "Yes, Wu Zhao'en's biggest flaw is that he is all show and no substance. However, he does have his own merits; we can't completely deny him. At least he's much better than some of the thugs out there!"
Xiao Yun felt a bit embarrassed to hear that this guy had categorized him as a small-time thug.
Nevertheless, no matter what he said, Xiao Yun chose to ignore him, simply sitting there with a smile, playing with his palm and reading his fortune.
Once the dishes were served, Madam Kato took her seat. She smiled at Xiao Yun and said, "Mr. Long, I heard that you got to know Yuko through Yoshiko. Yoshiko told me that you are a very nice person. May I ask what kind of work you do?"
Uh, did Kato Yoshiko not mention my job when she told her mother that I am Kato Yuko's boyfriend?
