She smiled at me, "Manman, you are the bravest little girl I have ever met."
I almost cried out in pain, "But do you know? Just now, I almost killed Shen Jing."
"I only realized that my intense hatred for him comes entirely from my love for him."
I choked up and could barely speak, "I love every character I write about, even him as the villain, I have a special fondness for."
"But everything has spiraled out of control... it's all my fault..."
The car stopped by the roadside.
Bai Qing reached out to embrace me, gently patting my back.
"Xiao Man, you did nothing wrong. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't exist."
She tenderly stroked my cheek.
Her smile was firm and powerful.
"I will ensure you get home safely."
Bai Qing took me back to her house.
Suddenly, her phone received a message from Bai Man.
"Sister, bring what I want, and let's meet up, shall we?"
Bai Man, also known as the white moonlight Manman, is indeed Bai Qing's sister.
In the original comic, Shen Jing treated Bai Qing as a substitute for his white moonlight and planned to exploit the female lead.
Engaging in a series of competitions with the male lead, Fu Jing.
Bai Qing had long since drawn a line with her sister, who had become malicious after regaining her health.
She replied, "Is there a need to meet?"
But then, Bai Man sent a photo.
In it was Fu Jing, bound and restrained.
Bai Qing's expression changed drastically.
Her hand holding the phone began to tremble uncontrollably.
The female lead in my painting, Bai Qing, is stubborn and proud, with an extraordinary calmness.
She is perfect and possesses an indomitable will.
Yet, Fu Jing is her only weakness.
I knew she hesitated.
Bai Man wanted to meet because Bai Qing still held other criminal evidence against Shen Jing.
Moreover, Fu Jing and Shen Jing are sworn enemies.
What she was doing was merely to win Shen Jing's favor.
I took her phone and said, "I'll go meet her. Compared to you, the one she wants to kill more is me."
Bai Qing shook her head, gripping my hand tightly.
I patted the back of her hand to comfort her, saying, "We still need you for our B Plan, Bai Qing. Anyone can die, but you and Fu Jing cannot."
She gritted her teeth and still wouldn't let go.
I smiled lightly, "You're silly. Did you forget that I can't die?"
"Once the comic is finished, I can still go home."
Only then did Bai Qing let out a sigh of relief, but she still looked worried. "Really?"
I nodded.
Once the comic is completed, I can rely on the Manuscript to return home.
But that was in the past.
Before I had my blood drawn, I would hold the Manuscript and dream every night of a glowing door.
It felt warm.
That was the door to home.
But ever since I had my blood drawn,
even holding new sketches, I haven't dreamed of that warm yellow door for a whole year.
So, I'm not really sure if I can still go back.
But none of this is important anymore.
In any case, Bai Qing cannot encounter any accidents, after all, the plot of the previous comics was entirely under my control.
In the end, Bai Qing was able to live happily ever after with Fu Jing, they even returned to Beijing to get married and had a pair of lovely children.
Now, however, these events are beyond my control.
I absolutely cannot let Bai Qing and Fu Jing take even the slightest risk.
Two days after meeting with Bai Man.
In the morning, Bai Qing made breakfast for me: milk and fried eggs.
After we finished our milk, Bai Qing solemnly patted the back of my hand.
"Xiao Man, I still can't let you take risks alone; I added a sleeping drug to the milk."
"Don't worry, by the time you wake up, I'll have already brought A-Jing back."
She stood up, but as she grabbed her handgun, she suddenly became unsteady: "What's... happening..."
I immediately rushed forward to catch her and helped her onto the bed in the bedroom.
I gently comforted her: "I know you well enough to guess that you must have added something to the milk, so I switched it out."
In the end, Bai Qing couldn't resist the effects of the drug.
"Sweet dreams, Bai Qing."
I took Bai Qing's handgun, quietly closed the door behind me, and set off alone for this banquet of intrigue.
In the past two days, a sudden attack occurred, and I fell asleep. The news of Shen Jing's serious injury has spread throughout Myanmar.
Northern Myanmar has long been plagued by gang divisions, and with Shen Jing injured, other suppressed gangs have begun to stir.
This is the result we wanted.
With Shen Jing being held back by other gangs, his attention will be diverted from Bai Qing and Fu Jing.
I drove towards Northern Myanmar, Wa State.
On the streets at night, a breeding ground for crime, there were girls standing on the corners, their expressions vacant and lost, dressed provocatively.
Ruffians stood in small groups nearby; they had no hope of rescue.
At this moment, I couldn't afford to pay attention to any of that.
I glanced in the rearview mirror and deliberately slowed down my speed.
I was being watched.
A headache formed.
I was here to meet Bai Man.
If I got targeted by someone else along the way, it would be over.
I pressed the accelerator to the floor and sped up desperately.
On the narrow street, my car was careening wildly as if it had lost control.
The car behind me also accelerated.
Due to my unfamiliarity with the terrain, my car turned into a dead end.
The car behind blocked my way, and the thugs got out.
They were from Bai Man.
I felt a sense of relief.
Now, besides Bai Man, anyone else getting involved would only complicate the task.
Bai Man was originally drawn based on my own features.
Bai Man and Bai Qing are sisters, so I naturally resemble Bai Qing as well.
The thugs shone their flashlights on my face a few times and reported to Bai Man over the phone: "Sister Man, we have located Bai Qing."
Just as I was about to speak, a sharp pain shot through my neck.
Someone had injected something into my neck.
I was dreaming again.
A very long dream.
It was a dream within a dream, yet it clearly felt like something that had happened in the past.
I dreamed about the scene where Bai Man and Shen Jing met in the cave.
But the reality seems different from what I remember.
In my dream, I was still in the real world, and the editor kept calling me repeatedly for the manuscript.
The editor shouted, "Climax! Climax! You're drawing a comic that's not suitable for children! I need some big, bold moments!"
And I was stuck, not knowing how to illustrate that part of the story.
While drinking beer, I suddenly fell asleep holding my manuscript.
My manuscript suddenly glowed with a warm white light.
I was pulled into it.
I found myself at the edge of a cliff.
At this point in the dream, I was quite surprised.
I clearly remembered that this situation was inspired by a spring dream I had before drawing it.
How did it become so immersive?
Did I somehow enter the comic back then?
As the dream continued, I stood at the edge of the cliff with a bamboo basket on my back.
Suddenly, a boy with a strong smell of blood ran out from the woods and grabbed my neck.
I was taken hostage by him.
The boy's voice was dry and hoarse: "Don't move. If you dare to move, I'll kill you."
It's been a long time.
This is eighteen-year-old Shen Jing.
He was being hunted by other warlords.
Shen Jing's father was the largest Drug Lord in Southeast Asia.
With power at his fingertips, he suddenly fell ill and died, leading to the collapse of his family.
As the sole heir, Shen Jing naturally became a thorn in the side of countless people.
They wanted him gone quickly.
And I, who was being held captive by him, thought this was a scene from a dream.
I said, "Um, big brother, you're still bleeding."
Shen Jing wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
His red lips curled into a terrifying smile: "I won't die."
Footsteps drew closer.
He tightened his grip on me and slowly moved toward the edge of the cliff, his eyes like those of a ravenous wolf, unyielding and fierce.
The person across from me actually recognized me and looked quite anxious.
"Girl! What are you doing here!"
Then he said to Shen Jing, "Please don't hurt her, I beg you, let her go."
Shen Jing coughed a couple of times and spat out some blood. He smirked wickedly, "Let her go? Will you let me go then?"
The person across replied, "Yes, yes, yes!!"
Shen Jing laughed and tightened his grip on me as we leaned towards the cliff. "Ha, who would believe that?"
"I'll come back as a ghost to take your lives even if I die!"
Just as he was about to drag me down to hell with him, I suddenly heard him release his grip and push me away.
With a light laugh, he said, "Finding a woman to die with me is too unlucky."
By some twist of fate, I suddenly turned around and reached out to grab him.
