After more than an hour of fussing around, Lin finally managed to sort everything out.
He spent a long time studying the Attribute Panel and the Punishment Task. Afterward, he could no longer tolerate the sweat stains on his body, which had a sour smell. Lin quickly went to take a shower.
Feeling refreshed after a nice wash, Lin rubbed his damp hair as he walked into the living room. Looking outside, he noticed that it was already bright; it must be late morning.
Hearing a commotion outside, he wondered why it seemed particularly lively today.
While he was pondering this, the doorbell rang. The urgent "ding-dong" sound indicated that the visitor was pressing the button rapidly, likely in a hurry for something important.
The sudden doorbell startled Lin; his old door didn't have one.
"I'm coming!"
Lin's expression immediately turned cold. It was early in the morning, and such noise at the door surely meant trouble. There was a high chance that Fatty had come over again to mooch food!
As soon as he opened the door, Fatty's dark face squeezed through the gap. Unlike his usual playful demeanor, Fatty's face looked particularly serious today, with his normally loose flesh taut.
"Are you ready? Bro," Fatty asked directly, leaving Lin momentarily stunned.
"Ready for what?"
With a blank expression, Lin felt confused, his hands still leisurely rubbing his wet hair.
This time it was Fatty's turn to look shocked. He stared at Lin in disbelief and exclaimed, "Bro, aren’t you going to participate in the Warrior Examination? Have you gone dumb from studying Warrior Fundamentals Training?"
"Huh? Why are you so anxious about the Warrior Examination? There's still plenty of time left."
Lin paused his hand from rubbing his hair, feeling a bit stiff as if something was off.
"Smack!" Fatty slapped his thick palm against his forehead and murmured, "What the heck, bro, have you really gone dumb..."
After a moment of thought, Lin realized where the problem lay.
He had always thought that he had only slept through one night while in a coma, as he had fallen asleep in the first half of the night and woke up in the second half. Therefore, he believed he had only missed one night.
If Lin's calculations were correct, there were indeed still two hours left until the Star League Examination began. However, judging by Fatty's expression, it seemed he hadn't merely been unconscious for one night.
"What’s today’s date?" Lin was already turning his head, anticipating Fatty's response.
"It's June 1st! Big brother! We have to go take the exam today!"
As soon as Fatty's answer left his lips, Lin turned and dashed into the house, shouting, "Give me three minutes!"
...
Five minutes later, Fatty and Lin were walking down the old road leading to Earthen Slope Street. Lin had changed his clothes, but his hurried appearance made him look somewhat disheveled; his clothes were wrinkled and his hair was still damp from not being dried.
Fatty continued to nag, "Bro, it's not just about you; we need to have some moderation in our studies. You can't just hold it in for over a week like this; even a good person can get dumb from it!"
"Yeah!" Lin nodded absentmindedly.
He hadn’t expected that he would actually sleep for two days. This surprised him; it seemed that those energies weren’t so easy to absorb and had taken quite a bit of time.
At this moment, Lin felt a bit worried: since waking up, he hadn’t familiarized himself with the new Star Level yet. This unfamiliar power was something he still hadn’t grasped well enough to use effectively.
They walked along with Fatty in a daze, and before they knew it, Lin and the others had reached the street corner. Fatty had been chattering the whole way, but Lin didn't hear a word; he was focused on how to quickly master this power so he could perform well in the exam.
"Hey! Bro! What are you thinking about? You're about to run into a pole!"
Fatty suddenly reached out his hand in front of Lin, stopping him from walking forward.
"What’s up, bro? You look heavy-hearted. Is the pressure too much?"
Even though Fatty was usually carefree, he could tell something was bothering Lin. His expression grew tense; for Fatty, if Lin had a problem, it meant he had a problem too, and it was serious!
"Nothing, just thinking about the exam."
Lin nodded in response, but his furrowed brow remained tight, which made Fatty frown as well.
After a moment of thought, Fatty felt somewhat relieved. The Warrior Qualification Exam was indeed a big deal for Lin; it was something he had never encountered before, and he needed to do well.
After pondering for a while, Fatty decided not to preach any more grand theories. He knew that this kind of thing had to be shouldered by Lin himself. If he couldn't even get past this hurdle, there was no point in talking about becoming a warrior!
"Don't put too much pressure on yourself, bro. Just relax!"
Fatty could only pat Lin on the shoulder as encouragement.
Lin fell silent; he looked up ahead as if admiring the scenery along the road, but his eyes were vacant and unfocused.
Seeing Lin like this, Fatty could only shake his head and stop talking, looking ahead instead.
The streets today are somewhat different, not just at the entrance of the old street, but the entire city, and even the whole Azure Planet, has fallen into a special state.
"Warrior Examination Day" is privately referred to as "the most glorious day in the first half of a Warrior Student's life."
Today, all city traffic will be prioritized for students participating in the Warrior Examination, allowing them to ride free and fast vehicles to ensure they won't be late for their exams.
The city's roads are divided into six types: three upper lanes and three lower lanes. The lower three lanes are for walking, Zipline, and ground transportation vehicles.
The upper three lanes are designated for Aerial Vehicles, categorized into small, medium, and large Aerial Vehicles, each occupying different roadways.
Private flying cars belong to the small Aerial Vehicles category and travel on the first street of the upper lanes, followed by medium and large vehicles. Among these roads, the most important is the flying car lane due to its widespread use and heavy traffic.
However, today all Flying Cars are restricted; only those picking up and dropping off students can use the road, while all other vehicles are prohibited from accessing it!
Zipline also has privileges today, with additional vehicles running every five minutes specifically heading to the examination sites as Privilege Vehicles.
Privilege Vehicles have fewer stops, no speed limits, and utilize backup cable lines that are usually not in use.
Apart from these two privileged roads, the other four also prioritize the students' examinations. As long as "Star League Examination" is displayed on the vehicle's roof, they can travel freely on the roads without obstruction; other vehicles must yield!
Such privileges reflect how much respect and importance Azure Planet places on its Warriors.
In this Galactic Era, Warriors bear the weight of all top-tier industries; without them, planets lack developmental space.
Therefore, on this special day, Azure Planet People must ensure that Warrior Students can take their exams. If a Warrior Student misses their exam, it could mean losing a significant opportunity for Azure Planet to advance.
This is what it means to live in an era where personal strength is revered!
At the intersection of the old street, vehicles occasionally passed through the Flying Car Lane, with various Flame Jet Ports spewing flames as they sped away into the distance.
Most of those drivers were volunteers. Many companies had taken a day off today, even organizing collective transportation for students.
Fatty looked up enviously at the luxury cars passing overhead, clicking his tongue. "Hey! In this godforsaken Earthen Slope Street, I can't even see a single volunteer! Looks like we'll have to take the Zipline!"
He was right; it had been years since a Warrior Apprentice had come through Earthen Slope Street. No one came to pick anyone up in such a desolate place, making it a waste of effort.
Today was also a restricted travel day, making it impossible to hail a taxi.
However, one could book a ride online, as there were websites that offered this service. But someone like Fatty, who was carefree, naturally wouldn't think of that; by this time, it was already too late to make a reservation.
Looking up at the swiftly approaching Zipline, Fatty sighed, feeling that the usual vehicles he was accustomed to seemed particularly slow and cumbersome today.
There was a hint of sadness in Fatty's eyes; he had lost the privilege of enjoying something that only came once in a lifetime!
"No! I should blame my brother for not reminding me! If he were in his right mind, with his meticulousness, he would have probably planned today's itinerary already!"
Turning to look at Lin, Fatty rolled his lewd eyes, trying to shift the blame!
He hadn't made any plans himself but still wanted to blame Lin for not helping him plan! What kind of thinking was that?
