That's right, Lu Sha wasn't mistaken; the motorcycle beneath her had already reached a speed of 90 miles per hour. However, Wang Hao was still able to pull ahead of her before the turn. If Wang Hao was running, then his speed was even more outrageous than Lu Sha enhanced by lunar elements.
Lu Sha never expected this twist. After the turn, she hit the throttle again, gradually closing the distance with Wang Hao. The road was bustling with vehicles, forcing Lu Sha to ride along the edge, weaving through the shadows of passing cars. Ahead, Wang Hao glided on two wheels like he was skating, glanced back at Lu Sha, and made a sharp turn, disappearing into the sea of cars. This undoubtedly made it much harder for Lu Sha to pursue him.
"Damn it!" Lu Sha could only curse on her motorcycle. "Are you taking advantage of the fact that I don't have a driver's license?"
Seizing the moment, Lu Sha leaned right and followed Wang Hao into the traffic. Wang Hao was incredibly agile; the wheels under him were connected to his shoes. Amidst the sea of headlights, Lu Sha could only rely on his body to block out the light to gauge his direction.
Wang Hao zigzagged through the traffic without any pattern, effortlessly slipping through gaps that seemed impossible for motorcycles. After following him around a few corners, Lu Sha suddenly faced the rear end of a large truck!
"Ah!" Thankfully, three years ago, she had learned the hard way about losing sight while driving away. Now on her motorcycle, every nerve in her body was tense. The moment the truck's headlights appeared in her view, Lu Sha slammed on the brakes and swerved. The tires screeched against the pavement, producing a deafening sound accompanied by clouds of white smoke that nearly threw Lu Sha off.
Due to inertia, the motorcycle abruptly stopped under Lu Sha's control and skidded sideways toward the large truck before coming to a halt in the middle of the road. The cars behind her quickly hit their brakes and honked at Lu Sha, who had been nearly thrown off.
"Damn it, you scared me to death..." Lu Sha climbed back onto her bike, brushing aside her red hair that had been blown over her face. She looked dazedly at the long line of cars behind her; they were in a solid line now, unable to change lanes as drivers honked frantically, nearly deafening her.
"Can I leave now?" Lu Sha frowned and pointed at the cars behind her, shouting impatiently. Of course, the drivers couldn't hear what she was saying; they just honked louder.
With her temper flaring, Lu Sha felt like getting off and smashing all those cars behind her—she nearly flew off her bike and no one cared about her plight while honking at her instead. But she had a mission; she could only suppress her anger and twisted the throttle again. The rear wheel of her motorcycle immediately kicked up clouds of white smoke as she resumed her pursuit.
"Sasa, you're losing distance!" Jiao An and the others were already in their vehicle; An Xiaotian reminded Lu Sha while watching two signal points on the display screen.
"He can't escape!" Lu Sha accelerated on her motorcycle. True to Sister Jiao An's exclusive bike, this purple motorcycle darted through traffic like an arrow, its roar echoing like a lion's growl that sent shivers down Wang Hao's spine ahead. In this slow-moving traffic, the rumble of that motorcycle stood out prominently.
"Getting closer!" Wang Hao realized this fact. His wheels couldn't go any faster now; his only advantage was his agility. He glanced at the high-rise buildings adorned with neon signs beside him and bit his lip before making a sharp turn toward an intersection ahead.
Across from him was a commercial street bustling with tourists at peak hours. Wang Hao intended to use the crowd as cover to shake off Lu Sha; he didn't believe she would dare ride into such a throng on a motorcycle.
After reaching across, he found that the lateral lane had a green light. Faced with traffic blocking his way, unless Lu Sha's motorcycle could fly, she truly didn't have the guts to rush across now. Frustrated, Lu Sha slapped her thigh; all she could do was wait for the red light to pass.
Watching as glimpses of streets appeared and disappeared through car windows across from her, Lu Sha seemed to see Wang Hao looking back for her as well. Two glowing blue wheels rose from his backpack and locked into place on his back. Then it seemed he smiled at her before moving forward and ultimately disappearing into the crowd behind vehicles.
"He slipped into the crowd," Lu Sha said as she parked her flashy purple motorcycle in a nearby parking area. With red hair against a cool purple bike, she immediately drew attention from passersby. Amidst curious glances from everyone around her after locking up her bike, Lu Sha dashed into the commercial street.
Looking down at Jiao An's location signal and then up at the throngs of people and intersecting streets made Lu Sha feel overwhelmed by the disparity in scale. After running a few steps, she looked up at a mall on her left and noticed that the signal source wasn't far away.
"It must be upstairs." Without hesitation, Lu Sha ran into the mall but switched to brisk walking to avoid drawing too much attention.
"Sister Jiao An, send me a specific location!" Lu Sha requested. She had already matched up with the signal source but found herself surrounded by crowds flowing past on the first floor.
"It's on your watch," Jiao An explained.
"What? I’m already overlapping with the signal and still can’t see him? What kind of garbage is this..."
Before the words were finished, two fingers that had been fiddling on the screen gently pulled apart, and the positioning map immediately unfolded into a three-dimensional image, clearly marking the location of the signal source—on the third floor.
"My fault," Lu Sha said, pouting and glaring at the child in front of her who was looking back at his hair. She retracted the words she almost shouted and walked toward the elevator amidst the commotion of the child crying.
"The signal source hasn't moved," An Xiaotian said. "It's possible that the target has realized their phone is providing a signal. Stay alert, Lu Sha."
"Received."
By the time they finished their conversation, Lu Sha had already walked up the escalator and was looking at the originally marked location on the third floor. It was a gaming arcade filled with various VR simulation game machines, and there were quite a number of players inside. Lu Sha bit her lip, adjusted her sleeves, and hid her Chain Spear launcher in her clothing as she walked in, only to be stopped by a staff member at the entrance. "Sorry, miss, you need to select a game coin recharge on the machine at the entrance before you can enter."
"Huh?" Lu Sha was taken aback, feeling her pockets and realizing she hadn't brought her phone for this mission since she really didn't have that habit.
"I'm just going in to find someone; I'll be right out," Lu Sha said with a silly smile, hoping the staff member would let her off the hook.
"Uh... that's not possible," the staff member insisted. Lu Sha thought for a moment and suddenly shouted loudly into the crowd inside, "Son! Son, stop playing and come home!"
Everyone looked at each other in confusion, not knowing who Lu Sha was calling. Moreover, they were all surprised: this woman looks so young but is already a mother?
Hearing this, the staff member had no choice but to wave her hand and let Lu Sha in.
"Hehe, that's more like it," Lu Sha thought distractedly. To her surprise, after her shout, the signal source on the screen began to move!
As soon as Lu Sha stepped into the game room, someone in the crowd behind her started screaming as if everyone was making way. Lu Sha frowned, realizing that Wang Hao was inside; however, Wang Hao gave her no chance to attack. A person on blue glowing dual wheels slid straight towards Lu Sha from behind a game machine, raising an energy gun aimed at her!
"Ah!" Seeing this, Lu Sha instinctively raised her hands to protect her face. The gun's muzzle instantly fired an energy blast, and the tremendous force sent Lu Sha flying behind a game seat, startling a guy sitting there who jumped up and stared blankly at Lu Sha curled up on the floor by his feet.
"I’m your father!" Taking advantage of Lu Sha's momentary daze, Wang Hao threw down this line and tossed his phone in front of Lu Sha before running out of the game room.
"Uh... ah..." Lu Sha's arm was charred from the blast but quickly returned to its original state under everyone's astonished gazes. With help from kind-hearted people around her, she stood up and saw a message on the phone screen lying on the ground:
"Instance upload cloud progress: 100%, all files have been destroyed."
Recovering quickly, Lu Sha immediately understood what this guy meant: he had long known that his phone signal was being exploited but needed to destroy important documents before he got caught by Lu Sha!
No wonder he had been playing cat-and-mouse with her!
"Who exactly is he? What does deleting and uploading files to the cloud mean?" More questions flooded into Lu Sha's mind as she shook off people's support and ran to look down from the mall corridor for a man carrying a backpack. Soon enough, she spotted Wang Hao's figure appearing at the elevator entrance on the second floor.
Wang Hao thought that wearing a mask and hat would prevent Lu Sha from recognizing him. However, he overlooked one detail: the wheels on both sides of his equipment bag were glowing blue! And Lu Sha had zeroed in on this subtle difference; now she was sprinting toward the elevator down on the third floor—but she wasn't taking it—
"Crash!"
Wang Hao was startled and looked up along with people in the elevator—only to see Lu Sha shatter through the glass on the third floor and leap down from mid-air. In that instant, as they locked eyes in mid-air, Wang Hao's pupils widened and trembled while Lu Sha unhesitatingly shot her Chain Spear at him!
"Ugh!"
A sharp pain shot through Wang Hao's back as the Chain Spear pierced into his flesh. In that instant, Lu Sha had already dropped down from his left front side, showing no signs of stopping. With a strong pull, combined with the downward momentum, Wang Hao's body was helplessly manipulated by Lu Sha's hook, flipping over on the escalator and falling from the second floor elevator!
Lu Sha did not crash directly to the ground; instead, he turned and shot out another Chain Spear, embedding it into a support pillar of the building to provide himself with resistance, landing safely on the ground. However, Wang Hao, who fell from the second floor, was not so fortunate. Lu Sha retracted the Chain Spear from his body and watched as Wang Hao hit the floor on the first level!
"Ugh..." Fortunately, Wang Hao had a backpack to cushion his fall, and he was still thinking about rolling over to struggle back up and continue running. Lu Sha pulled on the Chain Spear in his hands and walked up to him, stepping on the spot where the Chain Spear had pierced Wang Hao's back, causing him to cry out in pain.
"Don't be in such a hurry to run," Lu Sha said triumphantly, hands on his hips, puffing out his cheeks as he exhaled. "I'll take you to M City Military Base for a break. How do you want to go? Hmm? Alive or dead?"
