"What's wrong?" Andy asked while having lunch on the first floor.
"Something happened..." Anna said as she put on her shoes, "There's no time to explain now. I'll tell you when I get back." With that, Anna left the house.
Andy glanced at the newspaper beside him, where the bold headline read "Yoo Jae-suk: The Occupier." Expressionless, he folded the newspaper and continued enjoying his lunch.
Meanwhile, Anna was running tirelessly toward the subway station, trying to see if she could reach Brother Jae-seok on the phone. However, after countless attempts, her phone kept indicating that it was turned off.
On the subway, citizens were whispering about the news regarding Yoo Jae-suk.
Some expressed disbelief, others believed that Yoo Jae-suk was wronged, while some began to kick him when he was down, claiming that Yoo Jae-suk was a hypocrite...
The public can elevate you one moment and trample you the next. Ji-hyo's words from yesterday had seemed distant to Anna, but she never expected that in just one night, such a situation would unfold before her eyes.
They used to be so supportive of Brother Jae-seok, so why were they now so quick to abandon someone they once admired?
Anna lowered her head, feeling anxious. Around her, there were people who seemed to have known everything all along, proclaiming that Yoo Jae-suk had always been a false gentleman...
Clenching her fists and biting her lip, no, Anna didn't believe it. She refused to believe it; she would not believe that Brother Jae-seok was that kind of person. He was a standard for her life; there couldn't be anything so dirty associated with him. How could someone so disciplined to the point of being harsh possibly be like that?
He treated everyone with politeness. From what Anna had seen, whether on television or behind the scenes, Yoo Jae-suk maintained an appropriate distance when interacting with women. Even with female artists like Song Ji-hyo or Shin Bong-sun, whom he had collaborated with for a long time, Yoo Jae-suk never displayed any overly familiar behavior.
After exiting the subway, Anna began to run frantically. She wanted to get to the truth as quickly as possible and hoped that this would help calm her somewhat anxious mind.
The atmosphere in the studio was unusually tense. All the members of Running Man were present except for Yoo Jae-suk and Haha, including Zhao Xiaozhen, who had already become the deputy director.
"How is Brother Jae-seok doing now?" Dong Wan asked.
"I've made many calls, but Brother Jae-seok isn't answering. Haha just called and said that the Task Force from Infinite Challenge is also in a state of chaos," Jung Kook said.
"It's been confirmed that Jae-seok is currently cooperating with the local prosecutor's office in Seoul for an investigation. We're still waiting for results," Miao PD said.
"How long will it take to get results?" Zhao PD asked.
"It will take at least one or two months to thoroughly investigate everything," Miao PD replied.
"What does Infinite Challenge say about this? How are the other program directors reacting regarding Jae-seok?" Zhao PD inquired.
"When I spoke with Haha earlier, he mentioned that Kim Tae-ho PD and the members of Infinite Challenge have decided to temporarily suspend broadcasting until the investigation results come out. If Brother Jae-seok is confirmed guilty, Infinite Challenge will also be terminated," Kim Jong Kook said.
"What about the other programs?" Zhao PD asked.
"The directors of the other two programs indicated that they want to completely replace Yoo Jae-suk and continue airing the shows," Miao PD replied.
Zhao PD furrowed his brow, thinking for a long time before asking, "What does everyone mean by this?"
A long silence weighed heavily in the studio, making the atmosphere oppressive to the extreme. Everyone felt as if a massive stone was pressing down on their chests, making it hard to breathe.
Finally, someone spoke up.
