"Not a show, no filming, and there won't be any reports. It's a charity event organized privately by Brother Jae-seok," Anna said as she took a bite of her apple.
"Mr. Yoo Jae-suk organized it?" Andy asked.
"Yes, Brother Jae-seok has donated to many charities over the years without any reports. I only learned about this gradually after joining him in these activities recently."
Andy smiled slightly and said, "A person like Mr. Yoo Jae-suk is truly formidable."
"What? Why?" Anna asked, puzzled. "How can someone as good as Brother Jae-seok be formidable?"
Andy looked at Anna and asked with a smile, "Miss Anna, what kind of person do you think is formidable?"
Anna thought for a moment and replied, "Bad people, those who always think about hurting others, those who will stop at nothing to achieve their own goals... Wait..."
Andy chuckled and said, "You're mistaken."
"Why?"
Andy put down the newspaper in his hand, a cold glint flashing in his eyes as he said, "The truly formidable people are those who are indifferent to desires. Once a person is not tempted by fame and fortune, they become frightening. Of course, it's not that they themselves are frightening; rather, those who want to get close to them will feel a deep sense of threat."
Anna was taken aback. She didn't understand why Andy would say such things or why he thought that way, leaving her momentarily speechless.
Seeing Anna's puzzled expression, Andy smiled, the cold light in his eyes disappearing. He said, "Miss Anna won't understand."
Glancing at his watch, Andy stood up, took a check from his wallet, and handed it to Anna. "Please help me donate this money to the welfare home. It's the holiday season, and I want to do some charity work. I have something to attend to, so I won't be back for dinner tonight." With that, he put on his coat, bid farewell to Anna, and left.
In the room, only Anna remained, accompanied by the familiar laughter of the Running Man members from the television.
Anna lowered her head, looking at the substantial check on the table, feeling a mix of emotions. Many times, Andy's words revealed that his perspective had completely changed from before. He was gradually standing in a position of power, looking down on this ordinary world. Absolute power meant absolute obedience; there was no longer any compassion—only high-handed charity remained.
Placing the check on the table, Anna felt a swirl of conflicting thoughts.
The ringtone of her phone pulled Anna back to reality. She picked it up and saw it was Kwang-soo calling.
"Hello, Brother Kwang-soo," Anna said.
"You haven't forgotten about tomorrow's plans, right?" Brother Kwang-soo asked.
"Of course not! How could I forget? I've already sorted out some clothes to take with me tomorrow. Also," Anna glanced at the check on the table and said, "Andy also contributed some money as a donation."
"That's great! But can you accompany me this afternoon to buy some rice and flour? We should also get some ham; I want to deliver it tomorrow," Kwang-soo said.
Anna nodded and replied, "Sure, I also want to buy some blankets to donate."
"Great! I'll come by your house to pick you up shortly."
"Okay."
After hanging up the phone, Anna picked up the check again, thought for a moment, and then placed the check into her wallet.
If Andy truly had dark seeds sprouting in his heart, then this money could be used for some good deeds; even a little could help dispel some of the gloom.
Anna sighed, returned to her bedroom on the second floor, changed her clothes, and wrote a shopping list while waiting for Kwang-soo to come pick her up.
