"Are you not leaving yet?" Dong Wan, already packed up, asked upon seeing Anna still working.
"Oh, I'm almost done. I estimate it will take about ten more minutes. You guys can go ahead," Anna replied.
"Alright, then we'll head out first," Dong Wan said as he left with Park Seok and the others.
Anna continued to focus on the video, editing away. Compared to the program presented on television, this work was somewhat tedious and monotonous. However, thinking about how close she was to finishing her task, Anna unconsciously quickened her pace, selecting useful video clips one by one and reassembling them into a tight and humorous format for the audience.
After pressing the final save button, Anna set down her mouse and stretched her back with a sigh of relief. She had completed the most challenging and lengthy initial edit. Now, she just needed to collaborate on the post-production, which would significantly reduce her workload.
"Finally finished..." Anna murmured to herself. In the Running Man workspace, only Li Zhen and Li Junshi were still busy adding subtitles and effects to the previously edited videos. Anna chose not to disturb them and quietly gathered her things before heading to the elevator.
Once outside the SBS building, it was already past ten at night. The air felt heavy, hinting at impending rain. To avoid getting soaked, Anna decided it would be safer to take a taxi.
"Anna."
Just as she stepped down from the building's entrance stairs, a familiar voice called out. Anna recognized it immediately; sure enough, she saw Park Chan-yeol standing there, opening the car door.
"Oh, hello," Anna said with a smile and a bow.
She felt a bit awkward about their last encounter and had intended to leave without saying anything. However, Park Chan-yeol closed the car door and walked over.
There was no way out. As Park Chan-yeol approached, Anna could only force a smile and say, "Aren't you recording a show? Are you done? Why haven't you left yet?"
"Are you working overtime again?" Park Chan-yeol asked.
"Hehe, yes, I am," Anna thought to herself that if she could see her reflection, she would realize how awkward her smile looked.
"Do you want to go get a late-night snack?"
"No, I'm not hungry," Anna replied with a smile.
"I'm hungry. Come with me."
"What?"
Before Anna could react, Park Chan-yeol had already walked over, brought the car around, and parked it in front of her.
"Get in the car. This is SBS; do you want us to make headlines tomorrow?" Park Chan-yeol joked with a smile.
Anna sighed helplessly. To be honest, if she could, she secretly hoped she would never have to see Park Chan-yeol again. She could feel some emotions slowly spiraling out of control, and she didn't want to become that person one day.
Reluctantly, Anna sat in the passenger seat. Just as she settled in, Chan-yeol suddenly leaned closer.
Anna was startled, her face flushed red. The distance between them felt unprecedentedly close; she could even smell the shampoo he usually used. She gripped the seat tightly, widened her eyes, and asked, "What are you doing?"
Chan-yeol found it amusing to see her nervousness. He pointed to her right and said, "Seatbelt."
Anna snapped back to reality and replied, "Oh, I'll do it myself." With that, she pulled the seatbelt across her body and fastened it.
Chan-yeol smiled, withdrew his body, and started the car. As they drove out of the parking lot of SBS Compound, a blue Jaguar XKR was parked across the street. Anna glanced over unconsciously and vaguely thought she saw someone with silver hair in the driver's seat...
Is it him...?!
In an instant, the car had passed by. Anna turned back, wanting to take another look, but it was already too late.
"What's wrong?" Chan-yeol asked as he noticed her dazed expression.
"Nothing, I think I saw someone I know," Anna replied.
