Anna nodded, pulling her suitcase to keep up with Chan-yeol's pace.
They finally arrived at a quiet lobby bar, and Lee Kwang-soo's call came through.
"Hello, Brother Kwangsoo."
"I'm at the lobby, but where are you?"
Anna stretched her neck to look around but couldn't see Lee Kwang-soo's figure. She said, "I'm here too, but I don't see you."
It was likely that Anna had gone to the wrong place. Chan-yeol said, "The Running Man members should be at another Minglan Hotel."
"What? Another Minglan Hotel?" Anna exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, I heard the manager say that the Running Man should be at the Minglan Hotel in the west of the city," Chan-yeol replied.
"Who are you talking to?" Lee Kwang-soo asked, a bit confused upon hearing Chan-yeol's voice.
"I was just..."
Anna began to speak when Chan-yeol snatched the phone away and said, "Brother Kwangsoo, it's me, Chan-yeol."
"What? How come you guys are together?"
"Anna went to the wrong place. Don't worry, I'll take her back in a bit."
Anna quickly waved her hand, indicating that it wasn't necessary. She wanted to grab her phone back, but her height was a disadvantage.
"Call ended."
After the call, Chan-yeol returned the phone to Anna and said, "Let's go."
"No need," Anna replied. She felt inexplicably indebted to this person and didn't want to continue feeling that way.
Chan-yeol smiled and said, "If you don't want others to see us struggling with each other and end up on entertainment news tomorrow, you should listen to me."
Anna remained silent. Seeing that Anna didn't respond, Park Chan-yeol stepped forward and grabbed her wrist. Anna's face instantly turned red, and she shook him off.
"Blushing?" Park Chan-yeol tilted his head, noticing Anna's flushed cheeks, and smiled happily.
"No," Anna said.
"Let's go," Park Chan-yeol said.
"I'm just worried about being photographed by others. That would cause you trouble," Anna explained.
"I'm not that foolish. I borrowed a car from the staff here, originally planning to go for a drive myself. I didn't expect to run into you, so I thought I'd help you out," he replied.
Anna thought for a moment and said, "Alright then, thank you for your help."
Park Chan-yeol smiled lightly as they entered the elevator, heading towards the underground parking lot.
The night view was beautiful, a kind of beauty unique to China. There were no fans following them, no work pressure; at this moment, everything was forgotten, only the neon lights and the gentle breeze remained.
In the passenger seat, Anna caught a glimpse of herself in the rearview mirror. She looked a bit haggard from the long journey. Thinking back to the last time she sat in Park Chan-yeol's car, she felt like a ghost. Yes, that time—Anna didn't want to remember it—was thanks to the person beside her... Despite having met many times, whenever she saw Chan-yeol, it felt as if she had done something wrong and couldn't look him in the eye, or she would leave quickly.
Gathering her courage, Anna turned to look at Park Chan-yeol, who was focused on driving. She had never looked at him this closely before; the flickering lights illuminated his face beautifully, more unforgettable than anything exquisite.
Like shining stars, but stars that were too far away.
So beautiful, so bright, yet so distant. If one were to have inappropriate thoughts and reach out to touch, they would not withstand such light and heat and would be shattered.
Perhaps every act of help or rescue was just as he said—merely incidental—but for her, it had saved her life, preventing her from falling into an abyss of despair.
"What are you looking at?" Park Chan-yeol suddenly asked.
Anna quickly turned away and lowered her head, realizing she had been lost in thought.
"Am I that captivating?" Park Chan-yeol joked with a smile.
"What are you talking about?" Anna glanced out the window and noticed that the lights were gradually diminishing. She felt a bit puzzled: "Where are we now?"
