Everyone took their seats, and Lee Kwang-soo looked around but did not see Anna. He tapped Yoo Jae-suk, who was sitting in the front row.
"Brother Jae-suk? Where's Anna? Didn't she come here with you by boat?" Lee Kwang-soo asked.
Yoo Jae-suk sighed lightly and said, "Miss Choi left her phone on the island, and Anna went back to get it."
"What?!" Both Kwang-soo and Ji-hyo, who were sitting together, found it hard to believe.
Yoo Jae-suk lowered his voice and said, "It's a long story; let's talk about it later."
Ji-hyo and Kwang-soo fell silent. Kwang-soo took out his phone to call Anna, but he kept getting the voicemail prompt. He felt a bit worried.
Ji-hyo reassured him, "It’s probably just a bad signal; she’ll be fine, don’t worry."
Kwang-soo nodded, staring at the phone screen. Miss Choi also got into the car and sat behind Kwang-soo, smiling as she said, "Brother Kwangsoo, you promised me yesterday that we would have dinner together. You haven't forgotten, right?"
Kwang-soo was quite annoyed but wanted to talk to her about Anna since Anna had been working with Miss Choi these days. So he replied, "I haven't forgotten."
Miss Choi smiled happily and said, "That's good."
As night fell, Kwang-soo met Miss Choi at a Thai restaurant as promised. They ordered several Thai specialties, and Miss Choi seemed particularly happy and satisfied with her meal today.
The restaurant was sparsely populated, with only a pair of blonde-haired, blue-eyed individuals sitting a few tables away, quietly enjoying their meal while occasionally sharing laughter and conversation. The flickering candlelight created a calm and warm atmosphere.
"Brother," Miss Choi said with a smile.
"What is it?" Kwang-soo looked at her.
"Brother, do you know?" Miss Choi suddenly felt a bit shy and said, "I became an artist because I like you."
Kwang-soo was somewhat surprised and laughed, saying, "What do I have that’s good? I’m always betraying others and getting bullied."
"Because I understand you. When I was younger, my family had no money, and I was often bullied and ignored. I could never get the toys I liked from other kids. Later, when my family became wealthy, I finally could do things without hesitation. At that time, I told myself that whatever I wanted, I had to get it myself and wouldn’t let anyone take it away from me."
"So?" Kwang-soo looked at her seriously.
"So, I like you. It’s because of you that I became an artist. I will definitely be with you," Miss Choi said firmly as she gazed into Kwang-soo's eyes.
The sudden confession left Kwang-soo somewhat at a loss. He put down his spoon, leaned back in his chair, and wiped his mouth.
"Miss Choi, you don’t really know me, and I don’t know you either. How can we talk about liking each other?" Kwang-soo said.
"Brother Kwang-soo, do you have someone you like?" Miss Choi asked.
Kwang-soo shook his head and replied, "No, I don’t."
Miss Choi smiled and said, "That's good. So please give me some time to let us understand each other, okay?"
Kwang-soo looked into Miss Choi's sincere eyes, feeling none of the previous disdain and pride. The candlelight highlighted her lovely and gentle features, stirring something within him.
She was truly beautiful, so beautiful that he couldn't bear to refuse any request from such a person.
Just as Kwang-soo was about to speak, a sudden ringtone interrupted the moment. Miss Choi casually picked up her phone.
"Hello... Oh... I understand. I'll be back in a bit." She hung up the phone.
