"All program staff, please gather in the SBS Running Man Room 3 in two hours for an emergency creative meeting. --- Zhao PD" After reading the message, Anna felt a bit frustrated; she had just arrived at the gym and now had to leave. Anna walked over to Lee Kwang-soo, who was still happily chatting with Zhang Yixing. It was hard to believe that these two, who were talking for the first time, had so much in common.
"Brother Kwangsoo, I have to leave first," Anna said to Kwang-soo.
"Why?"
"Zhao PD just sent a message saying there’s an emergency meeting."
"Alright." Kwang-soo stopped his machine and said, "Then I'll go with you."
"No need, you guys continue." Anna smiled, said goodbye to Yixing, and turned to leave the gym.
When Chan-yeol came out of the combat room, he noticed that Anna was already gone. He only saw Kwang-soo and Zhang Yixing, whose height difference created a surprisingly amusing combination.
Chan-yeol wiped the sweat off his face, and when Zhang Yixing saw him approaching, he happily waved him over.
"Hello, Chan-yeol," Lee Kwang-soo greeted.
"Hi, Brother Kwangsoo." Chan-yeol glanced around, took a sip of water, and asked, "Where's Anna?"
"Oh, she received a notification about an emergency meeting from the Task Force, so she left early."
Chan-yeol nodded and fell silent.
Lee Kwang-soo's phone suddenly rang; it was a call from Yoo Jae-suk. Kwang-soo sighed, unsure how long Brother Jae-seok would lecture him this time.
"Hello, Brother Jae-seok?"
"Oh, Kwang-soo! We're having dinner tonight with Zhao PD and Jung Kook. Do you want to join us?"
Kwang-soo was confused. "What? Zhao PD?"
"Yeah."
"Didn't Zhao PD say he had a meeting? Are they having dinner after the meeting?"
"What meeting? I've been with him the whole time."
"What?"
"Yeah, it's rare for me to have a day off. Why are you asking like that?"
Lee Kwang-soo's mind went blank for a moment as he said, "Zhao PD has been with you?! Bro, I'll call you back in a bit. I have to hang up."
"Is something wrong?" Jae-seok asked.
Kwang-soo thought that nothing had been confirmed about what happened; it might just be a misunderstanding. He didn't want to bring it up with Jae-seok, fearing it would only cause unnecessary worry. So he said, "No, it should just be a misunderstanding. I'll call you back in a bit, brother."
"Alright then, Kwang-soo, hang up."
"Okay, goodbye, Brother Jae-seok."
After hanging up, Kwang-soo quickly dialed Anna's number, but he received the message that the phone was turned off. He tried again, but the result was the same. A sense of foreboding washed over him; he clearly remembered Anna saying that Zhao PD had called for a meeting.
Noticing that Lee Kwang-soo looked uneasy, Zhang Yixing recalled Anna's words and asked, "Brother Kwangsoo, didn't Anna say that Zhao PD called for a meeting?"
"Yes, but Brother Jae-seok said there was no meeting. Plus, I can't reach Anna on her phone," Kwang-soo replied while continuing to dial Anna's number.
"What?" Chan-yeol frowned.
Kwang-soo tried calling a few more times, but the message remained the same: the phone was off.
"Stop calling; let's just go find her," Chan-yeol suggested, glancing at Kwang-soo. They nodded at each other and headed toward the changing room.
"Hey! Chan-yeol!” Zhang Yixing shouted as he followed them.
