At five in the morning, work ended, and everyone dispersed.
"Anna, wait a moment," Zhao PD called out to Anna.
"Yes," Anna replied.
Once everyone in the studio had left, Zhao PD spoke up, "You need to take better notes next time. Even the best memory can have lapses, understand?" Zhao PD looked at Anna seriously.
"I understand," Anna nodded.
"You did well this time. Also, go see a doctor about your hand. Next time, I will notify everyone about the recording in advance via text."
"Got it, thank you, Zhao PD." Anna had expected to be scolded but was grateful for Zhao PD's understanding words.
"Go home now. Make sure to rest well."
"Okay, thank you. You should also get some rest."
After leaving SBS, Anna let out a sigh of relief and stretched.
The sky was just beginning to brighten, and the morning air was particularly cool, with moist and sweet scents filling the atmosphere. Only a few people could be seen exercising or cleaning the streets. Vehicles were scarce, and the streetlights had just turned off. The nearby 24-hour convenience store seemed to warmly beckon to Anna. She walked in, bought fish balls and instant noodles, opened the noodles, added hot water, and sat down by the window.
Watching the steam rising from her noodles and the few pedestrians on the street, Anna's thoughts began to drift. A wave of intense drowsiness washed over her; one hand rested on the table while she still had fish balls in her mouth when she lost consciousness.
In a daze, it felt as if she had entered a lush jungle, following a small path,
The flowers were fragrant.
There was also the soothing sound of water.
Ahead, crossing the stone bridge, stood a beautiful wooden house.
Anna walked onto the stone bridge, and just as she was about to enter the house, the surroundings suddenly darkened. The forest transformed into Gray zombies, oozing green slime, their mouths and eyes rotting and crooked, utterly disgusting.
Anna was so frightened that she dared not breathe, but the zombies had already noticed her.
She scrambled and rolled into the wooden house, shutting the door behind her.
But it was futile; the zombies slammed their bodies against the wooden door with great force.
Once, twice.
Bang!
Bang!
Just as it seemed they would break through, Anna jolted awake to see a handsome hand resting on the table in front of her.
Instinctively, Anna swallowed the fish ball in her mouth and looked up, completely unaware of her disheveled state, only focused on the person in front of her with surprise.
"Park Chan-yeol?! How is it you? What are you doing... here?"
Park Chan-yeol stood there grinning. "We have a recording today. I saw that it hadn't started yet, so I came out to buy a bottle of yogurt. I didn't expect to find you sleeping here." He opened the yogurt in his hand and took a sip.
"Oh," Anna said, feeling a bit dazed. However, her hunger was still very evident. She opened the lid of her instant noodles; they had been soaking for too long and had completely lost their appeal. Anna sighed in disappointment and stood up. "I almost got eaten by zombies. Thank you for waking me up."
Chan-yeol looked puzzled and asked, "Huh? What zombies? What happened to your hand? It's so swollen!" He pointed at Anna's red and swollen hand.
Anna raised her hand to take a look; it was indeed swollen and unsightly. She smiled and said, "It's nothing, just a small issue. A bit of ointment should fix it. I'm off now."
"Huh? Why are you leaving as soon as you see me?" Chan-yeol asked innocently, his big eyes wide open.
Anna glanced out the window at two excited girls staring at Chan-yeol. She worried that someone might misinterpret the situation, and if it got written about, who knows what kind of story it would turn into. So she joked, "It's too much pressure being around such a handsome guy, especially one that so many girls like. It's overwhelming." She gestured towards the girls outside.
Chan-yeol shook his head with a helpless smile.
Seeing that he took her seriously, Anna found it amusing and waved her hand, saying, "Goodbye."
"In a couple of days when we record RUNNING MAN, I'll see you then."
Anna nodded with a smile, "Sure, see you then."
The two girls at the convenience store seemed completely unaware of Anna's presence. In their eyes, their idol was a shining star, so beautiful and bright that they wouldn't care about anything happening around them.
Anna smiled lightly and walked in the direction of home. The bus was nearly empty; leaning against the transparent glass window, her thoughts began to drift again. A black sedan approached from afar, and the blurred figure in the driver's seat looked remarkably like Andy. Shocked, Anna lifted her head, but the car had already sped past.
How could that be? Anna thought to herself; Andy couldn't possibly have such an expensive car and wouldn't be heartless enough not to come back to see her.
She sighed softly and decided not to think about it any longer.
