"Escape?" Li Li's eyes flickered. "Why should I escape? I have endured for over ten years; both my mind and body are shattered and incomplete. Not to mention whether I could survive in the outside world, what would I gain from escaping? Would justice be served, or would they repent? The suffering I endured holds no meaning. I stay here to ensure they are punished, to make them feel fear, to make them sincerely regret what they have done!"
Sun Bai observed this unfamiliar Li Li. Sitting before her was someone filled with immense hatred, a person who had harmed his half-brother. He had crawled out of hell, a manifestation of a demon, yet she felt no fear at all. Perhaps deep down, she believed he was right to eliminate those who had hurt and tormented him, those who had inflicted endless pain upon him; it was human instinct.
"So what do you plan to do?" Humans adapt best to their environment. Sun Bai quickly snapped back to reality from the fact that her husband was infected with AIDS and began planning her next steps.
"You will know soon enough," Li Li said darkly. "But I advise you not to go back tonight. Find a place to stay with Xiao Ming, and come back once everything is resolved."
Sun Bai glanced down at her son but said nothing.
"After Li Cheng's death, his company and assets, along with the savings accumulated by Li Weimin over the years, will all belong to you."
"You... you want to take them all..."
Li Li remained silent, as if acknowledging it.
Sun Bai sighed. "And what about you?"
Li Li forced a bitter smile. "Right now, I live only for revenge."
Sun Bai instantly understood his meaning; her lips trembled, but in the end, she said nothing.

Li Li finished his story and gazed calmly at the dark river surface.
The old man furrowed his brows tightly. "Since you've avenged yourself, why won't you accept the punishment of human law?"
"Punishment?" Li Li tilted his head and asked the old man, "Do you think I did something wrong?"
"It's not that you're wrong, but your wish has been fulfilled..."
Before the old man could finish speaking, Li Li interrupted, "I believe I'm not wrong. Since I'm not wrong, why should I accept others' punishment and judgment? What do people in this world know? They will only think that a madman has harmed his own family; they don't understand the truth. They don't know what kind of beasts my so-called 'family' truly are. They don't know what torment I've endured or what humiliation and betrayal I've suffered. They will curse me and despise me, but why should I accept this? I have a clear conscience; I'm not standing against justice. Why should I accept being labeled as an evil person by them?" Li Li paused and continued, "Moreover, what does it matter if they find out? Pity me? Sympathize with me? Maliciously speculate about what I've gone through? They will never understand how I've survived these twenty years. My life, my suffering—why should they become fodder for others' gossip? Any form of commentary is an insult to me. Even you, old man; when you first heard that I killed someone, weren't you also resistant and disgusted?"
The old man felt exposed and awkwardly cleared his throat before hastily changing the subject. "You wanted to know who I am and where this is? Let me tell you: this place exists outside of time; there is no life or death here. This is my domain created by me. As for myself... I don't even know how to define who I am. I've existed since the beginning of the universe; in this vast cosmos, there is only me—no one has the right to define me. So here, you can exist endlessly. Additionally, you have two other options: my belly or the hell below. Both lead to two outcomes: your soul will scatter and after enduring countless years of torment, you'll be reborn. So tell me, which one do you choose?"
Li Li raised an eyebrow, seemingly unfazed by this revelation, which disappointed the old man. After a brief silence, Li Li firmly stated, "I choose to have my soul scatter."
"You... won't regret it?"
"I don't regret it," Li Li replied lightly.
"Alright then; however, I've already consumed one soul tonight and my belly is full. Once I've digested that soul, it will be your turn."
"Okay," Li Li nodded and hesitated for a moment before pointing at a young woman wandering on the bridge and asking, "Who is she?"
The old man followed his gaze and said with a hint of sorrow, "She is not as lucky as you. She doesn't know whom to hate. She died, unable to resolve her grievances, and can only repeatedly endure the suffering she experienced. In fact, she is trapped in her own world, worse off than being in hell."
"Can you... tell me her story?"
The young woman's story was neither long nor short; it was finished in half an hour. Afterward, Li Li looked up at the woman, stood up, and slowly walked toward the bridge.
As he approached, he realized the woman was beautiful, with a graceful figure and a silent, sorrowful face.
His dead heart seemed to show signs of revival.
"Who are you?" the woman asked him.
He smiled and stepped closer. "It's so cold; what are you doing here?"
The woman seemed dazed for a moment. "I came to commit suicide."
"Why commit suicide?" he asked with a smile.
"Why?" The woman frowned, looking confused. "I don't know..."
Li Li extended his hand, his handsome face appearing gentle and calm. "No rush; let's go down first and think slowly."
The woman hesitated for a long time before nodding. "Okay."
Under the bridge, the old man watched the two figures walking side by side; they seemed so well-matched. If they were alive, if they hadn't gone through those experiences, if they had met, they would have made such a wonderful pair.
But—it's not too late, the old man revealed a satisfied smile.
