Liu Changtian led his team to push through the crowd and set up a cordon at the Li Family entrance. Technicians were busy inside the small house, and Liu Changtian frowned as the sight of the three dead bodies inside made his heart race.
On the bed lay a young woman with her eyes wide open and her abdomen cut open. On the floor, two male victims, one old and one young, lay not far apart, each with several horrifying wounds crisscrossing their bodies.
Liu Changtian rubbed his temples and turned to instruct the officer taking photos for documentation, “Xiao Li, take a few people outside to interview the neighbors.”
“Understood, Captain.”
“How was their relationship with the townspeople? Did they get along well?” The officer asked the onlookers while holding a notebook.
The crowd shrugged, “It’s average. They don’t really socialize much. Their eldest son runs a company and looks down on the townspeople.”
“Oh? Did they have any major conflicts with anyone?”
“There were some minor disputes, just typical arguments. But if you’re talking about deep-seated grudges, it’s not that serious. They’ve lived in this town for decades; what kind of grudge can be held for that long?”
“How is their family relationship?”
“Hehe...” A knowing smile appeared. “Their family was doing just fine.”
“What do you mean? Be specific.”
“A little over a year ago, a young woman moved in with them. She’s quite pretty. Their eldest son said she was going to marry his younger brother. During the meeting, an officer was explaining the investigation results.

An officer stood up to respond, "No signs of outsiders breaking in or entering illegally were found at the crime scene."
Liu Changtian frowned and said, "So the murderer must be among those known individuals? Xiao Xu, please continue."
"Yes, based on evidence from the scene: the first victim is Liu Wenyi, who suffered seven stab wounds; the weapon was an ordinary kitchen knife. The second victim is Li Cheng, followed by Li Weimin, and finally Wang Surong. They all died from being attacked with the same weapon. The knife bore fingerprints from Wang Surong, Li Weimin, and Li Cheng. Based on blood spatter patterns, it is inferred that Li Cheng arrived at the Li Family between three and three-thirty AM, retrieved the weapon from the kitchen, entered the room, and killed sleeping Liu Wenyi.
