Chapter 218:
At this moment, Blackrock Town was in a particularly tragic state.
It was as if it had been swept through by a violent tornado.
Almost none of the originally orderly houses were intact.
However, this was not what shocked him the most; he discovered that all the Blood Corpses had turned into various dismembered corpses.
Dark red blood flowed throughout the streets.
Suddenly, he seemed to recall something, suppressing his shock, and with a grim expression, he ran towards a house that had turned completely charred.
With a loud creak, he yanked open the burnt wooden door without caring about dirtying his clothes and rushed inside.
About five minutes later, he emerged with a pained expression, holding a damaged Red Staff.
The staff was made of a material resembling crystal and emitted a faint red glow, but the gem at the top of the staff had two long cracks running through it.
It seemed to have been damaged by some heavy object.
His hand trembled as he touched the broken Red Staff, and his pained expression gradually transformed into intense ferocity!
“Damn it! You destroyed my only hope! No matter who you are!! I will turn your body into a Flesh Puppet!! Your soul into an undead servant!! You will forever live in endless pain!!”
Before he could finish his vicious curse, suddenly, an extremely dangerous aura surged from behind him.
Before he could turn around, he felt a chilling sensation in his chest.
A Silver Cross Sword emanating Azure Light appeared in his line of sight, and then his head felt heavy. He was sent flying with a loud crash.
Bang!!!
He crashed into the recently burned house, immediately stirring up a large cloud of black smoke.
Freya looked coldly at the Necromancer. From his earlier appearance, it was clear that this man was the creator of the Blood Corpse in the town.
"Indeed, he is just a Vaporization wizard, and as a Necromancer, his combat awareness is surprisingly poor. Is this the general strength of a Cloud City Necromancer? Yet, his vitality is remarkably resilient."
As she whispered softly, she charged into the smoke-filled room.
Before long, the tall Necromancer was sent flying out again, but this time there wasn't a single intact spot on his body. It was as if he had been scraped by sharp blades all over.
Even his face was covered with intersecting scars.
However, despite being covered in wounds, these injuries strangely did not bleed at all, and even when his chest was pierced by a blade, he did not completely lose his life.
Freya furrowed her brows as she walked out of the room. On her right arm guard, where she held her sword, a distinct black spot was slowly spreading and emitting an unpleasant odor.
"Hmph. What a nuisance!"
Glancing at the black spot, she strode toward where the man had fallen.
The Azure Cross Sword slowly transformed into a blazing crimson color, its scorching temperature causing the air around the Blade to distort slightly.
Although he still had some vitality left, this man had been ambushed by Freya twice and had completely lost his life force.
At this moment, he stared at Freya with bloodshot eyes.
"You've been afflicted by my Black Eel Curse, and you cannot kill me! Soon enough, your body will slowly rot away, then you'll develop sores that ooze pus, and then—"
Freya quietly listened to his words. When she reached his side, she suddenly swung down her Cross Sword.
Hiss!
The searing blade easily cleaved through his scapula like a hot iron, revealing the charred flesh and bone inside.
The unbearable pain caused the man to let out a hoarse scream. Just as he struggled to escape, two slender brown vines tightly wrapped around his body.
“Damn it! You demon!!!”
His screams grew weaker and weaker until they became extremely faint, at which point Freya finally sheathed her Cross Sword.
She leaned slightly forward, her gaze icy cold.
“The body that has turned into a Zombie is not so easily killed. However, it seems your transformation ritual is not yet complete; you can still feel human pain. Fortunately, I happen to know something that can break this condition.”
Regardless of whether Freya's words were true, the Necromancer truly had little strength left.
The Azure light instantly shattered the Defensive Spell surrounding him, leaving him no chance to react before suffering a severe blow.
As a result, he lost all combat capability before even using his hidden trump cards.
Once the powerful recovery ability of the Zombie began to restore his damaged body, he slowly raised his head, staring at Freya with a puzzled expression.
“Who are you? Are you sent by Dirka? That thing is no longer with me; even if you kill me, it won't matter! If you let me go now, I will immediately help you lift the curse on you! And I will even throw in some extras.”
Ignoring his words, Freya plunged her Cross Sword into the ground with a thud and shook her head.
“First, I don’t know who your Dirka is. Second, the reason I captured you is simply to ask one thing: where did the original Wizard Organization in this town go? Did you kill them?”
The Rand Family had established a branch in this town primarily for trade convenience; most people were merely apprentices, and the Official Wizards were not very high-ranking.
For a Necromancer to take action here would be quite easy.
“Wizard Organization? What Wizard Organization!? When I arrived in this town, it was full of ordinary people.”
He seemed taken aback, as if he couldn't comprehend Freya's words.
“Hmm?” But Freya frowned slightly.
Both of them suddenly understood that there seemed to be a misunderstanding.
Just as Freya was about to say something, she abruptly looked up, and a strange, chilling aura suddenly appeared in the air.
It was two White Giant Eagles, with seats secured by red and white ropes on their backs. On the seats sat two Tall Shadows, cloaked in black robes and enveloped in Black Smoke.
A thick sense of oppression emanated from the two wizards riding the white eagles.
Seeing this, Freya's pupils slightly constricted because, in her mental perception, she found that these two were like illusions; she could not detect them at all.
Wizards who could evade her mental probing, if nothing unexpected happened, definitely belonged to the Crystallization Level.
At that moment, the Necromancer lying on the ground, bound by vines, also noticed the anomaly above him.
However, compared to Freya's calmness, he was trembling in fear.
"It's over! It's the Hunting Squad." (To be continued...)
