"Bang!"
The loud explosion caused the door to shake violently.
This made Freya, who was about to conduct an experiment, frown slightly, her hand pausing momentarily.
Then, sounds of running and talking came from outside the door, indicating that something unusual was happening on the ship.
Turning her head, Freya murmured a syllable softly towards the door, somewhat annoyed.
Immediately, a semi-transparent rune appeared on the wooden door, which had been covered by fine vines.
The rune flickered briefly, and the sounds from outside vanished instantly.
After sensing the now quiet room, Freya calmed her mental energy and slowly extended her hand to touch the drawn magic circle.
"Hiss."
A surge of crimson light accompanied by a faint sound revealed a peculiar black dagger that she pulled out from the magic circle.
Holding the dagger in her hand, Freya paused for a moment, just as she was about to stab it into her chest.
"Bang!!"
An even louder explosion erupted once again.
With a crack, the silence rune attached to the door trembled violently before slowly dissipating.
"Crack!"
The dagger in hand shattered into several pieces due to mental interference, transforming into a burst of black smoke that slowly dissipated.
Freya was momentarily taken aback, but her calm expression quickly darkened.
A door entwined with countless vines was violently torn open, and Freya strode out.
The corridor was filled with thick smoke and dust, with many cloaked figures rushing towards Freya, leading the pack was a monkey-like Strange Creature.
As the cloaked figures closed in, the monkey-like creature suddenly extended its hand. A ball of red fire was hurled forward in an instant.
With a loud bang, it struck the cloaked figures behind, causing a violent tremor and noise.
Clearly, this chaotic scene had been anticipated by the cloaked figures, as there were no guests in the corridor.
However, Freya's appearance startled the cloaked figures behind her. The one running at the front shouted urgently.
"Guest, please return to your room! That is a Fire Sprite! You—"
Before he could finish, Freya's expression darkened as she extended her arm and swiftly grabbed at the Fire Sprite.
Suddenly, above the Fire Sprite's head, a blue Giant Hand came crashing down forcefully.
With a loud slap, like swatting a fly, the Fire Sprite had no time to react before being slammed to the ground. Its monkey-like body lay sprawled out, bleeding from all seven orifices and convulsing.
Perhaps they did not expect Freya to so decisively subdue the Fire Sprite. For a moment, all the cloaked figures were slightly stunned.
Gently retracting her hand, Freya coldly stared at the group of black-robed individuals. Her tone was icy.
"You have interrupted my experiment, and I need a reasonable explanation!"
"Uh..."
Awakened by Freya's words, the black-robed man who had spoken earlier quickly waved for those behind him to pick up the unconscious Fire Sprite from the ground. He then hurried over to Freya, his expression respectful.
"Thank you, my lady. This was an accident, but since you have been disturbed, we will definitely compensate you and ensure your satisfaction."
"Hmph, let it be so!" Freya frowned as she glanced at the black-robed man before turning to close the door.
Although this ship belonged to the Elk Family, not everyone on board was a wizard; a significant portion were just ordinary people or apprentices.
After all, the number of Official Wizards is quite rare everywhere, unless in a gathering place for wizards.
From what Freya knew, there would be no more than fifteen on this giant vessel.
Therefore, this disturbance was ultimately not a big deal. After all, Freya was not someone who would seek revenge for every slight, and she had only expended a magic circle and some mental energy.
Moreover, since the black-robed individuals from the Elk Family were going to compensate her, their reputation would likely ensure it was satisfactory.
Returning to her room, she glanced at the ruined magic circle and regretfully wiped it off the table.
After being interrupted twice, she had lost interest in entering the Ruined World to take a look.
Although the Ruined World might have been the first place she accidentally stumbled into, it was not her first experience in the Wizarding World, so its confidentiality was not particularly serious.
However, from these two disturbances, Freya also realized that such matters were inconvenient on the ship.
After thinking for a moment, she walked to the only bookshelf in the room and pulled out a copy of the Ocean Journal to read out of boredom.
There was still a long way to Cloud City, and even a wizard wouldn't want to be cooped up for two months.
Casually flipping through the book, she hadn't even reached halfway when a gentle knock sounded from outside the door.
'Knock, knock, knock.'
Putting down the book, Freya raised her head and rubbed her forehead, calmly saying, "Come in."
'Click.'
The door opened, and a middle-aged man in a black robe walked in.
Upon seeing the visitor, Freya immediately stood up because she sensed that the black-robed figure before her was surrounded by a Mental Field that also belonged to an Official Wizard.
"Hello, Lady Freya. I am Hanske, the temporary head of this ship. I apologize for the earlier incident and hope you can forgive us."
After briefly sensing this person's mental level, Freya realized that even she found it somewhat difficult to see through him. It was clear that this wizard named Hanske was definitely no less than Liquefaction Level.
"It's alright; it was just a small effort on my part. I happened to have something to attend to outside as well. I suppose anyone would lend a hand in such an unexpected situation," she replied politely with a smile.
"Hehe, regardless, I still want to thank you. As compensation for the disturbance, I have three Slave Scrolls here for you." Hanske said with a smile as he produced three black cards like magic and handed them to Freya.
"Oh? Is it a human slave?" Freya asked with some confusion after taking the card and glancing at it.
This ship was not just a simple Passenger Ship. The entertainment facilities here were quite comprehensive, and due to being at sea for many years, there were even more options than on land.
Although Freya had never explored it, she understood a bit.
"No, no, no." Hanks shook his head. "You can tell you haven't been to the entertainment area. Besides humans being the main slaves, there are also slaves from other races. For example, the Fire Sprite slave escaped because of its special abilities. Each of the Slave Scrolls I gave you can be used for slaves worth up to three hundred Magic Stones. If it's above that number, you'll have to spend a bit more."
"Is that so?" Hearing Hanks' explanation, Freya looked at the card in her hand with slight surprise.
If one was worth three hundred Magic Stones, then three would be nine hundred. She hadn't expected the Elk Family to be so generous.
However, upon reflection, it made sense given the nature of the Elk Family.
Noticing Freya's subtle expression, Hanks smiled slightly and continued.
"Of course, and since you seem to be a wizard who enjoys research, there are many precious resources and books as well as other similar items there. While it may not compare to some Wizard Organizations, it's not far off."
Hanks' intention was clear; he wanted to win over Freya.
After all, although Freya was wearing a white robe now, she had no special insignia on her, making it obvious that she belonged to the Wandering Wizard, without any organization.
And Wandering Wizards generally had considerable skills.
Even if their knowledge might not match that of wizards from a Wizard Organization, their practical combat experience was significantly higher.
This could be seen from how easily he had knocked down the agile Fire Sprite.
This precise control is something that an ordinary wizard simply cannot achieve.
Therefore, as the person in charge of this ship, if Hanks can successfully recruit an Official Wizard, it would be a significant achievement for the Elk Family.
Upon hearing Hanks' introduction, Freya also felt a desire to see for herself.
After thinking for a moment, Freya smiled and replied.
"Then I definitely want to experience it."
"Oh? That would be a great honor," Hanks said with a smile. "Coincidentally, there will be a private Auction in two days. The quantity and quality of the items will be significantly improved, and if you have anything you need to deal with, you can use this Auction to do so."
"Is that so? That's wonderful; I must attend."
Freya currently has many items that she no longer needs or finds difficult to handle, so this opportunity is perfect for her to exchange for some Magic Stones.
It is important to note that money is crucial everywhere.
Moreover, Freya needs a large amount of Magic Stones to return to Dragon Coast via Airship from Cloud City.
"No problem, I will send someone to notify you when the time comes. I believe this Auction will not disappoint you," Hanks said while glancing at the time with a smile.
"Alright, then I won't disturb your rest any longer."
"Yes, see you later," Freya nodded.
"See you."
Watching Hanks leave, Freya turned and entered the house, closing the door behind her.
Two hours later.
Dark storm clouds gathered ominously in the sky.
The once calm sea surface began to ripple slightly.
However, this level of waves had no impact on the Giant Ship.
Inside the stable cabin, Freya rarely donned a noble gown as she followed Hanks toward a grand hall.
Her golden hair was casually tied back, with no adornments in sight.
Yet her handsome face still drew glances from those who did not recognize her identity.
Even Hanks, the Official Wizard, showed surprise upon seeing Freya dressed this way.
"Wow, I didn't expect you to be so young and beautiful; it's truly unexpected," Hanks remarked lightly as they walked. "Moreover, it's rare that you appear without any magical enhancements. You know, most witches make some subtle adjustments to their appearance or figure after being promoted to wizard; it seems so unreal." (To be continued...)
