Chapter One Hundred and Three: 0

Twenty Years Later. 0

In the dark forest outside an ordinary town at the foot of the Dis Mountain Range. 0

A blonde woman dressed in brown leather armor sits quietly on a chair woven from vines. 0

In front of her is a table, also made of woven vines, with two cups of wine-red tea on it, next to which leans an ordinary cross sword. 0

The woman holds a thick book with a black cover in her hands, intently reading it. 0

However, her presence in this dark forest environment seems particularly strange. 0

Freya quietly flips through the Wizard's Notebook in her hands. The knowledge within is quite diverse, with some entries even being casual notes. If it weren't for Freya's vast knowledge base, anyone else would likely struggle to understand its contents without consulting a significant amount of related materials. 0

Nonetheless, even so, the benefits this notebook brings to Freya are far greater than one might imagine. 0

Moreover, it even contains methods for advancement that Freya seeks, including ways to achieve mental energy vaporization and even crystallization. 0

Of course, all these methods are based on the strength of one's mental energy. 0

The enhancement of mental energy relies on a new meditation method. 0

After all, while combat can temporarily stimulate the growth of mental energy, that is merely a side effect, and the rate of increase will diminish with each successive strike. 0

Alternatively, in the future, Freya may find herself remarkably calm during battles that resemble life-and-death situations. 0

Sitting in the quiet forest, Freya gently flipped through the notes in her hand, occasionally taking a sip of red tea. 0

Time passed second by second. 0

The sun gradually sank lower in the west. The already dim forest became even darker. 0

Glancing at the current light, Freya put away the half-opened notes and slowly stood up. 0

Suddenly, a rustling sound of wings flapped above her from the branches. 0

Freya looked up in that direction. 0

There, a strange bird with pitch-black feathers had just landed on the branch, using its sharp beak to groom its feathers while its equally black eyes were fixed on Freya. 0

Feeling the bird's gaze, which seemed almost human-like, Freya frowned slightly and spoke with a hint of annoyance. 0

"You’re an hour late, Rand." 0

As soon as she finished speaking, the strange bird let out two 'caw' sounds. Then it slowly flew down from the branch. 0

Amidst a thick cloud of Black Smoke, the bird quickly stretched its body. 0

Before long, a young man dressed in a black Robe emerged from the dark mist. 0

His face was still covered with fine black feathers, but as he moved, these feathers quickly retracted into his skin. 0

"Sorry, Freya. I was delayed by some matters," Rand said with a slightly apologetic smile. He then asked her, "Have you finished your business over there?" 0

"Of course," Freya nodded, glancing around the dark forest with some confusion. "Why choose to meet here? Is there any significance?" 0

"Well, to be honest, there are some reasons, and the one meeting you now isn't the real me; it's just a clone of my Evil Crow form," Rand said with a smile. 0

"Oh?" Hearing Rand's words, Freya scanned him briefly and noticed that his aura indeed did not belong to Rand's true self. 0

Suddenly, she thought of something and exclaimed in surprise, "A clone... have you already reached Crystallization Level and can separate your body now?" 0

"No, no, that's impossible. This clone is merely a Bloodline secret technique of my clan. However, it is true that I have reached Liquefaction Level," Rand waved his hand dismissively. 0

"You've already achieved Liquefaction? That's impressive," Freya nodded in understanding, showing no hint of jealousy. "But to advance so quickly in less than a year must come with some side effects. Are you preparing for something significant?" 0

Freya knew that compared to the risks of advancing as a wizard, ordinary breakthroughs might not involve life-threatening dangers but were still not simple; failure could deplete a lot of one's potential and resources. 0

Even for large families, this would be an unnecessary loss. 0

Thus, Freya deduced that Rand must have some special circumstances pushing him forward. 0

"As expected of Freya, you saw right through it. Although there are some side effects, it's nothing serious," Rand said with a smirk. "And the significant matter you guessed is related to the academy." 0

"Is that so?..." With her azure eyes fixed on Rand for a while, Freya waved her hand dismissively and replied nonchalantly. 0

"Forget it, I don't want to know about the academy and your matters. My true identity right now is a Wandering Wizard who has left the academy organization. I'm only here because we are friends." 0

"Heh." Seeing Freya's indifferent expression, he retracted the smile that had been on his face. 0

"Alright, enough of that. I've already prepared the itinerary for your journey. When do you plan to set off?" 0

"If it weren't for your situation, I would have set off directly." Freya replied calmly. 0

"Okay, anyway, the Dis Mountain Range isn't a place to linger." Nodding lightly, Rand suddenly reached out and patted. 0

'Clap, clap.' 0

With the sound echoing, a dark figure quickly approached from the shadows of the nearby forest. 0

Before long, a wizard dressed in a black Robe, with their face hidden under a hood, came over holding a strange cross. 0

"Master." Upon arrival, the person immediately respectfully handed the cross to Rand. 0

Nodding slightly, Rand took the cross and explained to Freya. "Due to my family's circumstances, Lani is currently in a secret location. And because of that damned curse, her consciousness seems to be fading again. She only has a brief moment of clarity every two days, so I have to be cautious. This thing is a Coordinate device; it will take you to Lani." 0

Looking at the strange cross, Freya frowned slightly. "It seems that Lani's situation is quite serious." 0

"That's right." Tossing the cross into Freya's hands, Rand sighed and continued, "Otherwise, I would want to escort her to Cloud City myself." 0

"Mm." Holding the cross in her hand, Freya added, "In that case, I'll go find Lani tonight and set off tomorrow." 0

With a touch of mental energy, she quickly discerned the marked location within the cross. 0

"Good!" Rand said solemnly as he looked at Freya. "I've already made arrangements at Cloud City. You just need to ensure your safe arrival; someone will be there to pick you up afterward." 0

"No problem!" Freya nodded, sensing the subtle anxiety hidden in Rand's expression. 0

"I..." 0

Just as Rand was about to say something, his body suddenly jolted, and his previously vibrant eyes dimmed, as if a machine had lost its power. 0

This phenomenon lasted only two or three seconds, after which he turned back, smiling apologetically at Freya. 0

"I just received a message. I'm sorry, but I might not have time to see you off personally. The ship is ready, and after picking up Lani, Kate will take you directly there." 0

"Alright." Freya nodded in understanding. 0

She also understood what Rand needed to attend to at that moment. Given the obvious signs of war around the academy and the territorial changes within the academy area, it wasn't difficult for her to guess the underlying issues. 0

"Thank you, and by the way, I have a gift for you from Lani. I hope you'll like it." 0

Rand reminded her with a smile. 0

"Really?" Freya raised an eyebrow and smiled. "You better not disappoint me." 0

"Of course not. Well, I have some urgent matters to deal with over there, so let's part ways now." Rand smiled as well. "We might meet again in Cloud City." 0

"Alright, just let me know when the time comes," Freya said, nodding lightly. 0

"Mm." 0

He glanced at Freya again and waved his hand gently. 0

Then he was quickly enveloped in smoke, and before long, he transformed into a dark, monstrous bird and immediately took flight into the sky. 0

Watching Rand leave, only Freya and the wizard named Kate remained in the forest. 0

After a moment, Kate pulled back her hood, revealing an unremarkable young face. 0

She performed a strange gesture and spoke respectfully. 0

"Lady Freya, I cannot go to Sister Lani's location. If you receive any messages, please come to Traveler's Dock to find me; I will be waiting there for you." 0

"Alright, it's all for safety's sake. So, can you share some information about the academy?" Freya asked directly. 0

"Yes, my lady." Kate looked at Freya with some surprise, thought for a moment, and continued. "This is a critical period; all registered wizards at the academy are being tracked and questioned. It's only because of my special circumstances that I can avoid detection, which is why Lord Rand entrusted this task to me." 0

"I see, I understand." 0

Upon hearing Kate's explanation, Freya appeared thoughtful. She then waved her hand. 0

"Okay, you can leave now. Wait for me at your location; I will find you as soon as I meet Lani." 0

"Alright, my lady," Kate nodded and turned to leave. 0

Although Kate did not reveal much, Freya still gleaned a lot of information from her words. 0

Combining this with her inquiries around the academy, she could already see that Rand's family had engaged in a serious internal conflict with the other two major families over power and interests. 0

If she guessed correctly, the spark for this internal war was the previous Wizard War. 0

According to several major families within the academy, the Rand Family suffered significant losses, with half of their wizards sustaining severe internal injuries during that battle. 0

This was unbearable for any family. 0

However, Freya did not know what impact this internal conflict would have on the large and prestigious Wizard Organization. 0

Nevertheless, whatever the impact might be, it had no relevance to Freya's path. 0

She glanced back at the direction of Elgreen Academy, picked up the Cross Sword leaning against the edge of the table, and slowly walked toward a certain direction. (To be continued...) 0
