Chapter One Hundred Ninety-Two: 0

The cat was licking its tiny fingers one by one with its tongue. 0

When it saw someone walk into the room, it paused its grooming and turned its head toward the doorway. 0

At that moment, Freya noticed that the cat's eyes were a shade of amber, lacking the slit pupils typical of ordinary cats. 0

Moreover, Freya subtly observed that there was a hint of crimson in the gaps between the cat's strange human-like fingers, as if remnants of flesh and blood lingered there. 0

"Hello, beautiful lady. How may I assist you?" 0

As Freya examined the cat, it surprisingly spoke. 0

Its voice was somewhat hoarse, reminiscent of a boy going through puberty, yet it spoke in the language of the Wizarding World, which piqued Freya's curiosity. 0

After a moment's thought, Freya offered a friendly smile. 0

"Good day, sir. I am a traveler from another place. I would like to learn about this city. Could you share some information?" 0

"A traveler?" The cat nodded slightly and stood up like a person, looking her up and down. "This is Cat City. It's quite strange that you arrived here without knowing that." 0

"Cat City..." Hearing this name, Freya suddenly realized that most of the creatures she had encountered in this peculiar city were cat-like. 0

"I stumbled into this city by accident and am unaware of its circumstances. Could you tell me more?" she continued. 0

"Oh, very well." The cat lightly jumped down from the round table and opened its mouth wide, displaying an odd grin that stretched to its ears. "That puts me at ease." 0

"What do you mean by 'ease'?" 0

Watching the cat approach slowly on its own, Freya frowned slightly. Through its partially open big mouth, she noticed its mouth was filled with dense rows of sharp teeth, while its pink tongue writhed violently. 0

It seemed as if it were trying to break free from something. 0

This gave her a strange sense of eeriness, causing her to instinctively take a few steps back. 0

Suddenly, the iron gate outside the manor closed on its own for some unknown reason, and a yellow cat with a human upper body and a lower body resembling a naked human walked out from the side. 0

Perhaps due to the disproportionate ratio of its human and cat features, this creature moved in a somewhat sluggish manner. 0

As she noticed the approaching black-and-white cat getting closer, Freya suddenly thought of something, her expression darkening. 0

When the cat was less than two meters away, Freya suddenly reached out her hand. A ball of purple fire shot out abruptly. 0

With a loud bang, the fireball exploded upon hitting the cat. 0

Purple flames scattered everywhere. The intact furniture nearby was also shattered by the blast. 0

A semi-transparent azure membrane covered Freya's front, and the heat from the explosion caused her golden hair to flutter slightly. 0

However, unexpectedly, amidst the surging flames that had yet to dissipate, a slender figure emerged from within. 0

It was still that cat, but compared to its normal appearance just moments ago, it now resembled a monstrous feline creature. 0

The cat's mouth had split wide open, revealing rows of sharp teeth inside, and a thin red line stretched across its orange-yellow amber eyes. 0

Although its stature remained short, Freya felt an overwhelming sense of dread and danger emanating from this cat. 0

An eerie and abnormal atmosphere enveloped her completely. 0

"Has my energy attack become ineffective?" she murmured softly, squinting as she glanced at the other cat behind her. 0

Whoosh! 0

Without stopping, three Black Daggers transformed into three Black Marks and fiercely shot towards the cat, while Freya turned and ran. 0

"Meow~!" 0

A series of overlapping, mournful cat cries echoed behind Freya. 0

This sound was not just from one cat, but from a large group of cats meowing together. 0

Without looking back, Freya drew out three more daggers as she ran, her eyes fixed on the Monster Cat that had just closed the iron door. 0

A circle of white energy slowly gathered beneath her feet. 0

'Swish!' 0

In the next moment, the Black Daggers pierced into the cat's head, sinking deep within. 0

The immense force sent it flying backward. 0

However, what was strange was that the cat, pierced in the head by the daggers, suddenly rolled its eyes back and slowly began to rise again. 0

"Can't be killed?" Freya exclaimed in surprise. 0

This bizarre transformation made her suddenly think of the Zombies from the Necromancy Department. 0

But now was not the time to consider that. 0

Ever since she started fleeing, an inexplicable chill had settled in her heart, as if a terrifying creature within the entire manor was slowly awakening. 0

Vaguely, in her line of sight, she seemed to see clusters of black, twisted Tentacles creeping toward her, forming a terrifying silhouette. 0

This silhouette resembled both a cat and a human, constantly twisting and taking on various forms. 0

However, having experienced such eerie scenes multiple times before, Freya's mind had gradually adapted. 0

With a soft thud, the Monster Cat that was about to rise was knocked down. Although these Monster Cats seemed to possess some undead traits, their speed and strength were only slightly higher than that of an ordinary person. 0

However, the ineffectiveness of energy attacks was somewhat troublesome! 0

The black iron door loomed ahead as Freya clenched her fist, enveloping it in a swirl of white energy, and struck directly at the door. 0

Boom!!! 0

A cone of white energy exploded in the center of the iron door, instantly spreading cracks like a spider web across its surface. 0

Yet Freya paused for a moment. 0

"Has the material of this door changed?" 0

Behind her, the sound of running grew louder. Freya turned her head to glance back and felt a chill run down her spine, her scalp tingling slightly. 0

Behind her, she noticed a horde of various Monster Cats rushing out from different parts of the estate, continuously pouring forth. 0

These cats varied in size; some were similar to ordinary cats, while others reached up to two meters tall. 0

Moreover, each cat bore some traces of human characteristics, but none were entirely human. 0

The sheer number was overwhelming, a dark mass pushing toward her like a flood composed of Monster Cats. 0

"Damn it!!" 0

With no time to think further, Freya, drenched in cold sweat, struck the iron door once more. 0

Boom!! Boom!! Boom!!! 0

A series of rapid punches echoed against the door. 0

A large expanse of spider web-like cracks covered its surface. 0

As the cat approached her from behind, Freya finally smashed open the iron door with a loud bang. 0

The shattered iron pieces flew everywhere as her somewhat disheveled figure rushed out through the doorway. 0

The group of Monster Cats crashed against the door with a thud, and beyond that iron door, there was an invisible barrier blocking the swarm of Monster Cats. 0

Freya felt a chill run down her spine as she watched the many Monster Cats struggling to break through the 'door.' 0

The clothes on her back were torn to shreds at the last moment by the Monster Cats. 0

If they had touched her flesh, it would have been similar. 0

But what shocked Freya even more was that the attacks from these Monster Cats not only ignored energy but could also bypass her defensive Force Field. 0

Looking at her tattered clothes, Freya let out a bitter smile. 0

She never expected to encounter such bizarre dangers so soon into her exploration. She wondered what else existed in this world besides these creatures. 0

Raising her head, she took one last deep look at the Cat Manor. She adjusted her clothes and turned to leave. 0

The empty street still showed no signs of human presence. 0

Freya glanced around again but did not recklessly enter any other seemingly strange manor. 0

Five minutes later, she stumbled upon a pair of cat ears in a corner of the street. 0

Suddenly, she heard the ticking sound of a clock in her mind. The dagger at her chest twisted and then disintegrated completely. 0

The surrounding environment gradually faded, and the gray dust in the air diminished. Freya instinctively looked up at the dim sky, which soon transformed into a wooden ceiling. 0

"I'm back..." 0

She stood still in the room for a while before finally coming to her senses. 0

She glanced at the slender key in her right hand, which seemed much shorter than before. It was likely due to the consumption brought on by crossing into that world. 0

Her left hand, however, was empty. 0

"Indeed, this method of entry doesn't allow one to bring anything back." 0

Nonetheless, even so, it allowed Freya to confirm some things. 0

Taking a deep breath, she hung the now shorter key at her waist and looked up at the clock on the wall, realizing that only about five minutes had passed. 0

"Is it the difference in the flow of time between worlds?" She frowned slightly. 0

The magic circle beneath her feet had already stopped functioning. After a moment's pause, she stepped out of the circle. 0

After changing her clothes, Freya left the room. 0

Upon entering the living room, she found Anna wiping down the table. Anna paused for a moment upon seeing Freya walk out, seemingly surprised to see her. 0

"My lady... where have you been?" 0

"What do you mean?" Hearing Anna's tone, Freya furrowed her brow slightly, feeling as if she had forgotten something important. 0

"You suddenly left without saying a word. After Lord of the City recovered, he wanted to thank you, but..." 0

"You said five?" Freya interrupted her in confusion. 0

"...Yes." Anna was momentarily at a loss for how to respond to this lady and fell silent. 0

Freya, however, wore a thoughtful expression. 0

She knew that time flowed differently in various worlds; the higher the world’s level, the faster time flowed. The Abyss World and this world could have a ratio of one to ten. 0

She hadn't expected that this casually discovered world would be so terrifying—just twenty minutes here equated to five there. 0

"That's not right. Why didn't I sense it during the previous detection? Could it be that as an observer, I am not affected? How do I explain that Catwoman..." 0

Too many questions flooded her mind, but her current level of knowledge couldn't provide any answers. 0

After thinking for five minutes, she still couldn't come to a conclusion. 0

She gently shook her head and returned to the Laboratory. 0

"If five has passed, then that thing should be fully cultivated today!" she murmured softly. 0

Walking over to the Experiment Table, she lightly tapped a Thin Line rune on its surface. 0

A flash of green light appeared, and a slender Test Tube slowly rose from the Experiment Table. 0

The Test Tube emitted an Azure Light along with swirling gray smoke. (To be continued) 0
