A strange atmosphere began to coalesce.
Freya could clearly feel the rapidly gathering Energy Particles around both sides, and without a second thought, she immediately retreated.
However, before she could completely hide, she heard a powerful rumbling sound.
Then, a wave of white air surged forward.
Boom!!!
The leaves and grass around her turned yellow and withered under this force, and a putrid stench reached Freya's nose.
This made her frown slightly as a faint Green Light Spot slowly appeared around her.
"This level of Spell energy has already surpassed Zero-Level Spell; it belongs to the First-Level Spell category!"
Feeling the depletion of the Plant Energy represented by the Energy Particles on her body, a serious expression emerged on her face.
She hadn't expected that not only had Andy not used his full strength earlier, but even James and the others had powerful trump cards up their sleeves.
However, in this merciless confrontation, both sides would undoubtedly suffer casualties.
And this was most advantageous for Freya.
The rumbling lasted nearly three to four seconds before falling silent.
In its wake, large clouds of white smoke began to rise slowly.
The ground between both sides had been blasted into blackened soil, and nearly all the surrounding plants had withered.
A half-circular, earthy yellow wall slowly crumbled, gradually revealing three bloodied figures.
Although Andy was surrounded by a layer of black defensive Force Field, his face was unusually pale, and a trickle of blood slowly flowed from the corner of his mouth.
"Give up, Andy the Wizard. Even if you can hold us off now, others will come to attack you. You are merely a pawn in this conspiracy. Why don't we divide the resources in this vehicle evenly, and then you can take your woman and leave?"
James wiped the blood from his face with one hand, his gaze fixed on the other party.
He truly hadn't expected that this wizard would possess such a powerful Spell; even after using it himself, he hadn't managed to take down his opponent.
His words were largely motivated by a desire to avoid further conflict. Although that ability could be used twice, the aftereffects were too severe; afterward, one's mental strength would fall into a stagnation phase, negatively impacting the success rate of advancing to wizard status. It wasn't worth it.
However, perhaps due to his previous inconsistencies, Andy wore a cautious expression.
"Do you think I would still trust you? I will not spare anyone who harms Soyana!"
"Don't say that, Lord Andy." James calmly lowered his severed arm and spoke sincerely, "Look, I have also paid the price of losing an arm. Isn't that enough to appease your emotions? Besides, there's no need for us to fight to the death, right?"
Andy stood still. The black Force Field continued to surround him, but as he listened to James's words, he felt tempted.
After all, this was originally a conspiracy aimed at him; if he died, that person would surely get what they wanted.
Thinking this over, he slowly spoke.
"Then how can I be sure that you're being genuine this time?"
"That's simple. Once you see this item, you'll understand how sincere I am. I swear by Camberla's name."
James smiled as he pulled out a palm-sized bag from behind him and gently shook it. Then he took out a black gemstone from inside.
Andy’s gaze was drawn to the bag, but when he saw the gem, his previously cautious expression suddenly turned somewhat dazed.
The energy of Collapse surrounding him began to fade slowly.
Without any words, Thomas silently reformed a large fist made of earth and smashed it towards Andy.
However, just as the fist covered Andy's entire body, he suddenly snapped back to reality, but it was too late to dodge.
"You tricked me!!!"
Boom!!!
The massive earthen fist struck Andy, slamming him hard into the ground.
Amidst the splattering dirt, a dark wristband flew out.
Seeing the wristband, James's face lit up slightly. "It's a real Controller! Quick, catch it!"
However, just as Thomas ran to pick up the wristband, a green vine suddenly sprouted from the previously calm ground and lifted the wristband, sending it flying towards the forest behind the cart.
With a snap, the wristband was caught by a delicate white hand.
Clap, clap, clap.
The crisp sound of applause echoed from the forest as Freya, dressed in a Gray Robe, emerged from the shadows with a faint smile on her face.
Yet this smile seemed somewhat eerie at that moment.
"That was quite a performance, Lord James, but weren't we supposed to notify each other immediately if someone found the carriage? Isn't it a bit inappropriate for you to act this way?"
The melodious voice caused the smile on James's face to slowly fade.
He focused his gaze on Freya, who had just stepped out, or rather on the black bracer in her hand, and calmly replied, "Oh, it's you, Lady Freya. I didn't expect to see you here. I was planning to take care of this guy and then inform you, but it seems you arrived first. How fortunate."
"Isn't it quite a coincidence?" She glanced at the Newly Advanced Wizard, who had nearly been buried alive and had fainted, then turned back with a smile.
"However, before we proceed, could you please explain why an apprentice from Serpent's Tooth Tower is here? Don't you know the rules of Elgreen Academy? Or do you have some connection with these people?"
Listening expressionlessly to Freya's questioning, James paused for a moment before surprisingly breaking into a smile.
"Oh, so you're with these people? They must be a team sent by Serpent's Tooth Tower to support Hurricane Fortress. I don't know them at all; if you want to kill them, go ahead."
The only conscious apprentice from Serpent's Tooth Tower, upon hearing James's words, did not react but simply stared calmly at Freya.
"Oh? Really?" Her eyes flickered as she toyed with the bracer in her hand. "But I'm just an apprentice of the Positive Energy System."
With a swift motion, a shadow flashed from her hand, and one of the two unconscious apprentices in the distance suddenly had his head explode, red blood mixed with white brain matter spilling everywhere.
"You!!"
Perhaps not expecting Freya to kill an apprentice so casually while speaking, the surviving apprentice named Krol suddenly turned pale and instinctively took a step back.
However, James merely glanced at the exploded apprentice, still unable to discern any emotion.
He shrugged his only arm and inquired.
"Lady Freya, rather than getting tangled up in this, why don't we first activate the carriage's Force Field? After all, it's not safe here, and who knows what might happen if we stay too long. Didn't you just discover a hidden Official Wizard?"
"Yes, that's true!" Listening to James, Freya nodded thoughtfully.
However, just as she raised the pitch-black bracer in her hand, her figure suddenly turned around sharply.
The Cross Sword she had been holding ignited with a crimson glow and slashed forward.
'Clang!'
A massive black arm was cleaved in two and slowly slid down along the edge of the Cross Sword, revealing the tall figure of Thomas behind it.
On his left chest, a circle of fine transparent cracks was gradually collapsing, transforming into countless specks of light.
"Lord Thomas, are you not aware that your current actions violate the academy's Rule 125, which prohibits dueling among apprentices?"
As if she had anticipated the ambush, Freya smiled at Thomas while her Cross Sword ruthlessly struck forward!
'Clang!'
With such speed that there was no time to evade, Thomas darkly raised his arm, and a silver halo flashed around him, surprisingly blocking the strike.
"Oh? Cursed Items?"
Seeing the silver patterns revealed on Thomas's arm, Freya displayed a hint of interest.
"How about this!"
Golden hair began to flutter slowly, and two long silver tassels gradually formed behind her, emanating a strong sense of danger.
Suddenly, Freya's figure vanished in an instant, reappearing on Thomas's left side.
'Clang!'
A fist-sized circular crack appeared on his side.
Before he could react, Freya's figure disappeared again, then appeared on his right side, above him, and behind him.
'Clang clang clang clang!'
The sound of swords clashing echoed all around Thomas.
With Freya's rapid movements, it was like a crimson tornado. Around Thomas's entire body were numerous fist-sized cracks.
Standing in the center, Thomas looked at the silver patterns on his arm with a strange expression as a hairline crack slowly formed from the impact of the attack.
Meanwhile, James, who had been calm from a distance, gradually darkened in expression under the storm-like sword technique.
'Crack!'
Finally, the silver pattern completely split apart, and the silver Silver Defense Shield collapsed.
'Whoosh!!!'
A gray figure flew out from the Crimson Storm and crashed heavily into the ground in the distance, sinking deep into it.
"Enough!" Looking at Thomas, who had disappeared into the ground, James shouted. "Even if he violated the academy's rules, it is up to the academy to judge! Does Lady Freya want to go against the Quictor Family?"
"Of course not."
Freya, reappearing, casually shook her Cross Sword and said, "I was just giving a simple warning."
James stood frozen in place, staring blankly at Freya.
It was then that he realized that among the six, this woman who specialized in the weakest Positive Energy System was actually the strongest.
And she was strong enough to disregard all his lies and schemes.
He knew that neither he nor Thomas would dare to kill directly, but several people from Serpent's Tooth Tower would not be so fortunate.
