Freya scanned the numerous categories on the sign, directly focusing on the resources section.
Most of the items listed under resources were ordinary miscellaneous goods or spellcasting materials, with not many precious items available.
Freya carefully examined these various resources, leaving no item overlooked.
Finally, in the middle of the list, her gaze paused, and a slight smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
"Indeed, there it is, Billco Core!"
Although she had previously suspected that someone might place valuable Promotion Resources in the Trading Area during this period, actually finding it still brought her a wave of joy.
However, when she read the trading message associated with it, she was slightly taken aback.
'Trading Item: Billco Core. Trading Type: Item Exchange. Owner's Message: Anyone who believes they have something of equivalent value to Billco Core can contact me.'
Following this message was a string of letters forming a peculiar centipede, which was a special script in Abyssal Common Language. It indicated that Rhaenyra Belim was the owner's name.
"Whoever is selling Billco Core must be an Official Wizard. They certainly won't lack for Magic Stones, but this method of exchanging items makes it difficult to assess value since everyone's perspective on worth varies..."
She furrowed her brow and calculated her entire wealth, unsure if she could satisfy an Official Wizard.
After some thought, she extended her hand and lightly pointed at that name.
To her surprise, the peculiar centipede gently unfurled after being pointed at by Freya, then instantly shot towards the Communication Ring on her finger.
Not startled by this sudden occurrence, Freya felt the mental connection within the Communication Ring and raised her finger to speak. "Hello, Lady Ryania, I am Freya Green, a Third-Rank Apprentice of the Positive Energy System. ..."
In the spacious Mission Hall, the number of people had decreased significantly compared to before Freya's arrival, but it was still exceptionally lively.
Three large mission boards stood in the center of the hall, constantly refreshing and displaying new tasks.
Standing in a corner of the hall, Freya quickly scanned the crowd. She noticed that most of those taking on missions were Second-Class Apprentices, while Third-Rank Apprentices like herself were few and far between.
'As Lisa said, most Third-Rank Apprentices have been summoned away.'
Although she didn't know what exactly had happened during the turmoil at the academy, she could still sense that this confrontation with the Underworld Forces was somewhat extraordinary.
Even the Mortal Town within the academy's influence had been affected.
'I guess the Lilian Family should have responded to the academy's summon as well, along with Kaidy who is with her...' she thought lightly while touching the Black Iron Ring in her hand.
On her way here, she had used the Communication Ring to notify these two friends from her early days at the academy, but she hadn't received any replies. It seemed they must have gone to the front lines.
As for apprentices like Kaidy who joined later, unless they were promoted to Official Wizard, they were generally considered outsiders by the Elk Wizard Family. The care or benefits they received would certainly not be as valuable as those given to apprentices from core families.
However, given Kaidy's situation, it was uncertain; after all, his relationship with Lilian was quite special, and he might receive some consideration from the elders of her faction.
Bringing her thoughts back, she lifted her head to look at the mission boards.
The first two boards displayed ordinary tasks, but the third board was dedicated solely to War Missions.
With a red background and black text, each line listed brutal hunting missions, all of which were high-level tasks that only Third-Rank Apprentices or above could undertake.
The rewards for these missions were mission points, and at the bottom of the board were items available for exchange with those points.
Just looking at it made Freya take a slight gasp.
“Dragon Snake Flower, Christed Demonized Gun Blueprint. The Complete Abyssal Incantations of the Thirty-Sixth Layer, Nightmare Sand, Summoning Guardian Defense Spell Model (optimized). Refined Gold Dust…”
Just a quick glance revealed to her that these exchange items were all treasures. Each one, if placed in some desolate areas, could almost stir up a storm of competition.
From this, Freya began to vaguely understand the formidable foundation of her academy.
However, although these items were displayed by the academy, acquiring them required a significant investment.
Just the Nightmare Sand that Freya had already obtained required five hundred task points, which meant either killing five hundred powerful underground creatures alone or achieving feats comparable to the lives of five hundred enemies.
And aside from the Nightmare Sand, what shocked Freya even more was that the Summoning Guardian Defense Spell Model required ten thousand points.
This clearly exceeded the capabilities of any Third-Rank Apprentice.
“It’s likely that the Spell Model is meant for motivational purposes rather than providing tangible benefits… Otherwise, there would be no reason to label it with ten thousand task points,” Freya could only speculate.
After looking at the rich rewards on the War Mission Board for a while longer, Freya withdrew her gaze and walked toward the Trading Area with mixed feelings.
Although these items were tempting, they had nothing to do with her; looking at them would only stir up more turmoil within her.
Soon, Freya arrived at the Trading Area.
Rows of oddly shaped shops appeared before her, but most of them were closed, likely affected by the ongoing war.
Freya had no intention of wandering around. She walked straight to the end of the Trading Hall, in front of a sign two meters high and three meters wide.
Above it was an overview of all the items sold in the Trading Area, designed to help people find the resources they needed.
Before long, the Communication Ring emitted a rustling sound, followed by a strange hoarse voice. "Hello, apprentice. Do you want to exchange for the Billco Core?"
"Yes, that's correct."
"Well then, what do you want to exchange? But it must be something that interests me." The owner of the hoarse voice seemed to undervalue the Billco Core, which made Freya narrow her eyes slightly.
"Of course." Freya paused and continued, "I have a Tide Gem, an Enchanted Necklace Blueprint of Hidden Aura, as well as a Spell Theory Book and a Magical Plant Catalysis Technique..." After listing these, Freya stopped.
After a long while, the voice came again.
"Is that all?"
"...Yes, Lady Ryania," Freya replied somewhat nervously.
"Mm..." The voice pondered for a moment before speaking again. "The Tide Gem is precious, but I am not specialized in the Enchantment Department. The Enchantment blueprint has little value to me... As for the remaining items, aside from the knowledge and that catalysis technique, do you think they can match the Billco Core? If there’s nothing else, then forget it."
Hearing those words made Freya frown slightly.
She initially thought that the value of the Tide Gem would allow her to directly exchange for the Billco Core, but she didn't expect the other party to be uninterested, which put her in a difficult position.
Aside from what she had mentioned, she actually possessed two other precious items: one was the Ice Blue Earrings and the other was the Blue Crystal Bracelet.
However, both of these items were her trump cards for becoming stronger and for her final gamble; she could not use them for exchange. The Blue Crystal Bracelet was manageable, but the Ice Blue Earrings held special significance beyond being just a trump card and could not be exchanged.
Suddenly, she thought of something.
"My lord, besides these, I also have some Synthetic Biological Tissue."
Since the other party was coming based on interest, it might be possible to use that. If I had known earlier, those bizarrely fast-growing Lizard monsters, although they were merely cannon fodder, had the tentacles on their heads that could condense the existence of Elemental Runes.
Sure enough, upon hearing Freya's words, he seemed to become interested.
"Synthetic Biological Tissue, can you describe it in detail?"
"The creature I encountered resembles a long-legged Lizard, with dark brown tentacles on its head. Its blood is highly corrosive, and it grows at an extremely fast rate..." Freya quickly replied.
"Um... where did you discover this creature?"
"I stumbled upon it in the outskirts of Katia City’s forest." Freya told a lie.
She didn't want anyone to know about the Biological Testing Zone.
After all, there might still be things there that she hadn't discovered, and she planned to return to investigate further in the future.
"Alright, do you have any of that biological tissue with you? If it's nearby, I would like to see it right now."
Hearing this, Freya's eyes lit up; this Lynia seemed to have a deep understanding of biology and appeared eager to take a look.
"Of course, the samples are in my dormitory and can be viewed at any time," Freya replied.
"Okay then, I'll come find you in fifteen minutes."
"No problem."
Fifteen minutes later.
Apprentice Dormitory Area.
Freya was quietly waiting with a black leather case in her hand.
Before long, from a distance in the same dormitory, an old man with a white beard, dressed in a White Robe, slowly approached, leaning on a long black Staff.
The old man's figure was quite thin, and his hair was gray. However, a long scar ran across his wrinkled face, extending from the corner of his eye to the corner of his mouth, making his originally kind expression appear somewhat sinister and fierce.
Seeing the old man approaching, Freya quickly stepped forward, slightly bowed, and respectfully said, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Ryania."
"Mm." He nodded slightly, not paying attention to Freya's greeting but instead focusing on the leather case in her hand. "Now, let's take a look."
"Alright." Noticing the old man's eagerness, Freya immediately opened the case.
Inside were various items categorized in special arrangements using Test Tubes, vessels, and other objects displayed before them.
Without saying a word, the old man directly reached out and took one of the Test Tubes, which contained a piece of meat that had already begun to dry out. (To be continued)
