There, in a green robe, Saradin stared coldly at the Bald Wizard, her demeanor transformed from her usual gentleness to something entirely different.
Six green spirits circled around her, and green leaf-shaped runes slowly spread across her forehead, emanating a rich aura of energy.
"You... have actually condensed..."
Seeing the appearance of the leaf-shaped runes, the Bald Wizard's expression suddenly turned grim. He gazed deeply at Saradin; although he had previously exhausted her mental energy with traps, he knew about her trump card. Once it was unleashed, there would be no way to escape unless he could instantly elementalize himself.
The two had fought for many years and had long understood each other's depths!
After careful consideration, he slowly took a few steps back and immediately transformed into a cloud of yellow sand, flying away from there.
Watching the Bald Wizard leave quietly, Saradin, whose expression remained icy, let out a slight sigh of relief. The triangular rune she had tightly clutched in her hand was also quietly retracted.
Turning back, she glanced at Freya's buried position. Her emerald eyes flickered as if lost in thought...
Two hours later.
Inside Elglen's Villa.
In Freya's room.
On the bed lay a golden-haired girl wrapped in white bandages, quietly holding a book and reading.
Beside the bed was a round table with some black ointment-like substances on it, emitting a faint bitter smell.
Sunlight streamed through the glass window, allowing her to see the bustling scene of people outside.
As she turned a page in the book, Freya extended her hand and casually traced a complex calculation formula in the air. A faint green Flowing Light swirled at her fingertips.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The expanding plants exploded one after another, resembling powerful bombs in the shape of vegetation.
The entire forest was ravaged by this green storm.
At the moment the plants exploded beneath Freya, she was knocked unconscious.
The power of these plant bombs was indiscriminate; even she, covered in Transparent Liquid, was inevitably caught in the chaos.
However, as she lay buried under the debris of numerous plants, the Bald Wizard, who had transformed into a Sandball in mid-air, wore an exceptionally grim expression. The green particle storm continuously polluted the Force Field that protected him from sandification.
Tendrils of green moss slowly extended upward, but it seemed that their growth was restrained by some kind of Force Field, creating a delicate balance between the two.
"Damn it! That woman!" Feeling his Empowerment Spell gradually eroding away, the Bald Wizard grimaced and pulled out a fist-sized Sphere from his waist.
The surface of the Sphere was adorned with white patterns, and a faint life force emanated from within, resembling an egg of some creature.
Fixating on the Sphere in his hand, he pointed with his other hand.
"Crack."
Fine cracks extended from the top of the Sphere, and soon the entire shell shattered completely, revealing a translucent White Scorpion.
As soon as the Scorpion was exposed to the air, it twisted its body rapidly, struggling and emitting an unpleasant Chirping sound.
Watching the writhing Scorpion in his hand, a flicker of reluctance crossed the Bald Wizard's eyes, but he still tightened his grip.
"Crack."
In the palm of his hand, a transparent liquid flowed down along the lines of his hand.
Watching the liquid drain from his hand, he opened his mouth and softly murmured a phrase in an unknown language, as a circle of yellow sand gradually spread up his arm.
At this moment, the Sandball that enveloped him was mostly covered in moss. A series of strong vibrations came from beneath his feet, causing the sand on the outside of the Sandball to make a rustling sound as it fell away.
Ignoring the gradual collapse of his Power Field, he suddenly raised that arm as the yellow sand spread across it.
‘Buzz…’
A powerful vibration emanated from him, and under this tremor, the ongoing Energy Particles storm showed signs of dispersing.
“……Peterselmaus, disperse!”
‘Hiss!’
A circle of yellow ripples instantly radiated from him, violently expelling all Energy Particles with intense energy fluctuations.
The plants that had been exploding under the pollution of green Energy Particles gradually returned to calm.
In almost an instant, a patch of bright green in the sky was cleared.
Feeling the green particle storm slowly stagnate, he retracted his arm with a somewhat pale face.
This powerful purification request released through a medium felt particularly strenuous even for him.
However, being able to rid himself of that terrifying particle storm made it all worthwhile.
Gently waving his hand to disperse the sand around him, the Bald Wizard anxiously scanned the surrounding Disarray forest.
Like land struck by a bomb, the once lush forest now had no intact plants; everywhere was brown wood chips and vines, and the pollution of energy had rendered this land incapable of recovery for the time being.
"That madman!"
Feeling the energy fluctuations around him with a sense of dread, he glared darkly at the spot where Freya had been. Although there were violent energy fluctuations in that area, there were still signs of life. This indicated that the intense energy storm and explosion had not completely killed her.
Being outsmarted by a mere Third-Rank Apprentice filled him with uncontainable anger; in this place, aside from Saradin, no one had ever made him feel this embarrassed.
A swirl of yellow dust gathered behind him, slowly obscuring the air as a strange spear began to take shape.
The spear appeared to be only about three meters long, but the energy emanating from it was astonishing. At the tip of the spear, a faint transparent wave continuously radiated outward.
He extended a hand and gently grasped the spear's shaft. A fierce light suddenly flashed in his eyes as he hurled the spear toward Freya's location.
'Swish!'
Long yellow streaks were drawn through the air as an invisible sharp Force Field rapidly expanded.
However, just as the spear was about to strike the ground—
'Bang!!'
Suddenly, beneath the calm soil, a massive black hand made of dirt and branches burst forth and grasped the spear.
"Hmm?"
The sudden appearance of that hand momentarily stunned the Bald Wizard. Then he thought of something, and a hint of retreat appeared in his cold gaze.
"Wilton! Dare to move her and see what happens!" A clear female voice suddenly came from behind that hand.
She gently shook her head, dispersing the traces in the air. Just as she was about to change to a more comfortable position, a sudden knock sounded at the door.
"Knock, knock, knock."
"Freya, is it convenient for me to come in?" Saradin's voice came from outside the door.
"Come in."
With a creak, the door opened, and Saradin, dressed in casual clothes, walked in holding a glass bottle filled with red liquid.
She approached the bedside and handed the bottle to Freya.
However, when Freya took the bottle, a faint green light flashed from her hand upon contact, and the originally glass bottle slowly transformed into wood.
This made Freya frown slightly, but she still accepted the bottle and then drank all the liquid inside in one go.
"How do you feel? How much have your physical injuries recovered?" Saradin asked with concern as she watched Freya finish the liquid.
"Well, I can almost get out of bed now. Your recovery potion works very well, but this side effect I'm experiencing..."
Since the battle ended and she was brought back to the villa by Saradin, Freya had discovered that any object she touched would undergo some degree of plantification or energy contamination. Moreover, the balance of Energy Particles within her body had shifted significantly, with the proportion of Plant Energy's Energy Particles reaching one-tenth.
The consequence of this was that aside from spells related to Plant Energy, she could temporarily not use any other forms of magical energy.
This made her feel quite uncomfortable; after all, her strongest abilities were in Fire Element and Wind Element within the Positive Energy System. Now suddenly being unable to use them left her somewhat disoriented.
"As for this, aside from subtly using other Energy Particles to gradually rebalance yourself, there doesn't seem to be any special method for a quick recovery given your current situation," Saradin said with a hint of apology in her tone. After all, Freya had acquired this side effect while saving her. "However, haven't you noticed that this side effect actually has its benefits?"
"Benefits?" Freya looked up at her, somewhat confused about what she meant.
"Of course, don't you feel that your affinity for Plant Energy's Energy Particles has already reached a good level?" Saradin smiled.
"..." Freya was somewhat speechless at Saradin's words. Her body's Energy Particles had become so imbalanced that they could contaminate external substances, and her affinity for Plant Energy was probably on par with that of the Official Wizard of Plant Energy. However, this didn't seem like much of a benefit to her.
Nevertheless, Saradin's words made her feel like she had grasped a key point.
After thinking for a moment, she asked uncertainly, "Are you saying that this kind of affinity is permanent? Even if the Energy Particles in my body reach balance, it won't disappear?"
"Yes, aside from your own affinity Energy Particles, Plant Energy is likely the second highest affinity you have," Saradin nodded gently, her smile carrying a somewhat ambiguous meaning. "If you intend to specialize as a wizard in Plant Energy after successfully advancing, your potential might surpass mine."
"Uh..."
Although she knew that after advancing to Official Wizard, she would automatically choose the Energy Particles with the highest affinity as her specialization, she never thought there might be a chance to become a wizard of Plant Energy. This made her feel somewhat strange.
"Forget it; I'll deal with future matters later. I've only collected one-third of the materials needed to advance to Official Wizard, and there's still a long way to go. Even if I gather everything, whether I can successfully advance is another matter." She subtly changed the subject and continued, "By the way, how will we handle the situation with Blue Eagle Nest?" (To be continued...)
