The two incomplete maps combined are only the size of a palm and look quite old. However, with Freya's keen observation, she can still analyze the approximate time of these maps, which should be no more than a hundred years old. 0

Gently tracing the lines on the surface, Freya furrowed her brow slightly, her deep blue eyes reflecting a faint light. 0

When she first arrived in Katia, she had purchased a map of this area and observed it. From these two maps, she noticed some similarities, but she wasn't sure yet; after all, these maps are somewhat aged, and no one can be certain if there have been any changes over time. 0

Her finger lightly tapped a more defined location. 0

"This is Colt Forest and Gerard Town..." 0

After repeatedly comparing it with the map in her mind and ruling out several similar places, Freya finally confirmed one of the regions. 0

Once she confirmed one location, the others quickly followed in her deductions. 0

Based on the scale of this map, Freya could now clearly determine that the area indicated is located about thirty kilometers outside of Katia City. 0

"However, that area seems to only be inhabited by ordinary people. So what is the significance of this map? Is there something hidden there?" 0

Freya raised her head, deep in thought. 0

Although she had roughly confirmed the location, she still didn't know what it specifically was. However, she could find some useful information based on the age of this map. 0

Although the academy's resources are not particularly strong, some materials are still relatively complete. 0

"However, before that, I should deal with these things first." 0

She set down the map and picked up the necklace that could conceal her presence once again. 0

From her perspective, while this necklace may not match the quality of her Ice Blue Earrings, it is far more practical than the Earrings. It can help her detect Cursed Items unnoticed. The inscriptions on it are definitely worth her careful study. 0

Just as Freya was about to study the necklace, the Black Carriage had already been burned down to a pile of Black Ash, quietly lying there with a strong smell of charred flesh wafting through the air. 0

Even when some passersby saw it, they quickly left without a care. 0

Although Katia City was a peaceful place, it was not without its share of dark forces organized by ordinary people. While they did not dare to engage in open violence, some bloody incidents still occurred. 0

The charred carriage and the droplets of blood scattered on the ground were enough for anyone to sense that something extraordinary had happened. 0

As time passed, when the last wisp of black smoke from the ashes dissipated with the gentle breeze and the sunset's afterglow bathed the earth, a figure cloaked in black slowly approached from a distance. The setting sun cast long shadows behind him. 0

The cloak was large, and his face was shrouded in shadow. Only his tall and slender figure could be discerned as male. 0

When he passed by the pile of Black Ash, he suddenly stopped. His head tilted slightly as if sensing something. He walked directly toward the pile of Black Ash and crouched down, extending a hand from under the cloak to point. 0

With a soft sound, a black object suddenly flew out from the ashes and was caught directly by him. 0

He opened his palm to reveal a Black Crow trembling with its eyes half-closed. Its black feathers were tattered and emitted a faint smell of decay. 0

"Ah? Is that you, Grimm?" an aged voice emerged from beneath the cloak, filled with curiosity. The other hand gently stroked the crow's feathers as if trying to soothe its emotions. 0

“Caw!!!” 0

It seemed that his voice startled the crow, which had been trembling. Its body suddenly stiffened, and its squinted eyes widened in shock before it fell straight down, breathless. 0

Watching the crow fall in a daze, he seemed a bit uncertain and poked it a few more times. 0

“Completely dead…” He held the crow, straightened up, and his eyes hidden beneath the cloak moved slightly. Then he directed his gaze down the street towards the villa of Elgreen. 0

... 0

In a bright room. 0

On a clean table, a silver chain lay casually on it, while in the center of the table, Freya was using a Charcoal Pencil to carve out a circular magic circle about thirty centimeters in diameter. 0

She carefully filled in the symbols resembling Tadpole script along the edges of the magic circle. At the center of the circle was a piece of Black Crystal, which occasionally flashed golden runes under the overhead light. 0

As Freya continued her carving, the magic circle gradually became complete. About ten minutes later, she slowly put down her Charcoal Pencil and looked at the magic circle on the table with satisfaction. 0

The magic circle was constructed from various patterns and incantations. Viewed from above, it resembled a large open eye, with the Black Crystal as its pupil. 0

“Although directly using Cursed Items is the simplest method, this is ultimately something from Blue Eagle Nest. If discovered or traced back to me, it could lead to trouble… However, if I can successfully analyze what’s inside, its value would far exceed that of just a Cursed Item.” Analyzing the pros and cons in her mind, she felt a bit pained to destroy a decent Cursed Item, but she still decided to proceed as it was the safest approach. 0

Having made her decision, she extended her hands and placed them on either side of the magic circle. Her fingers gently touched the marks along its edge, and a faint red light slowly began to glow. 0

The incantations at the center of the magic circle seemed to come alive, slowly moving around as if centered on the circle. The previously eye-like magic circle began to change under the movement of the incantations. 0

As the red light intensified, the moving incantations suddenly transformed, gradually forming mysterious formulas and spell languages. 0

Freya quietly watched the changes on the magic circle, her deep blue eyes shimmering slightly under the glow of red light. 0

"It's out. This is the Shadow System's Abyssal Spell Language and formula... this is the Mental Energy Conduit... this is the Basic Spell Model..." 0

Like scenes from a movie, large chunks of data rapidly appeared from the magic circle, only to be replaced by newly emerging information. Freya stared intently at the display, her brain racing to record everything. 0

As this data flew out, cracks began to form in the center's Black Crystal, as if it were being pressured by some unseen force, with fine fissures slowly expanding from within. 0

Freya understood that this was an inevitable result of forcibly extracting information. If she had extracted it step by step, although some data would be lost, it wouldn't damage the Cursed Items. 0

However, she did not feel regret. 0

As the data was quickly analyzed, the cracks in the Black Crystal multiplied. 0

Suddenly, a sound like shattering glass echoed in the room. 0

The continuous red light of the magic circle abruptly shrank, and the scattered incantations instantly froze in place. (To be continued) 0
