As the spiritual connection with the Corrosion Giant was severed, the leading boy suddenly shouted loudly. 0

At his reminder, two long arrows shot out one after the other, aimed at the still-biting Carrion Beast. 0

At the same time, Freya, who had been in a state of readiness, pounced toward it from the tree with an unusual speed. 0

A faint buzzing sound slowly dissipated from the spot where Freya had just stood. Furante, who was closer to her, even caught a glimpse of Freya's afterimage in the rain. 0

Thud! Pfft! 0

One long arrow struck directly into the right eye of the Carrion Beast; however, due to its robust physique, it did not penetrate. The other crossbow bolt unfortunately missed and shot past the side of the Carrion Beast. 0

The Carrion Beast let out a piercing wail as its eye was severely injured, showing no signs of resistance and instead attempting to flee. 0

However, having lost its right eye, it had long since lost its vigilance and was so focused on escaping that it failed to notice the enormous danger above. 0

Descending like a gray hawk, Freya wielded her Cross Sword, which vibrated rapidly at an incredible frequency, creating a faint conical airflow at the Sword Tip. 0

The falling rain could not compare to her speed at that moment; even the Carrion Beast, using all its strength to flee, had no time to dodge or react. 0

Bang!! 0

Suddenly, a tremendous sound erupted from beneath the tree, as if something had exploded, followed by turbulence caused by the wind behind. 0

The three people standing on the treetops looked down at the scene below with strange expressions. They exchanged silent glances, and although they had all discussed their plans earlier and heard Freya introduce herself as skilled in ambushes, they truly did not expect her to create such a commotion. 0

"...This is already beyond the strength of a Second-Class Apprentice, right?" the leading boy murmured unconsciously. 0

The turbulence caused by the storm dissipated quickly under the rain, and the remaining three quietly descended from the tree. 0

The Carrion Beast lay on the ground with its body intact, except for a large circular hole where its head used to be. Around the hole was a mixture of red and white liquid, slowly flowing into the ground with the rainwater. 0

Freya stood beside the corpse, calmly taking out a piece of white cloth from her Gray Robe to gently wipe away the marks on her Cross Sword. 0

Although the three of them looked somewhat unusual, they did not say anything. 0

The leading boy walked over to the Carrion Beast, drew a dagger from his waist, and cut off all four Claws before standing up with a smile. 0

"Alright, now we have proof for our mission. This corpse will just about cover my bottle of Corrosion Potion. Everyone... has no objections, right?" 0

Though he was addressing all three, his gaze remained fixed on Freya. 0

"Of course not," Freya replied first, "If it weren't for Senior Rand attracting the Corrosion Giant, we wouldn't have been able to succeed so easily." 0

The Carrion Beast itself didn't hold much value. If sold, it would only fetch about one-third of a Magic Stone's price. Rand likely intended to use it for some kind of extraction. So she wouldn't quibble over such matters here. 0

Seeing that Freya had already expressed her agreement, the other two nodded in affirmation as well. 0

After confirming their consensus, Rand smiled and handed the Claws to the three of them. 0

As they passed by Freya, Rand deliberately paused for a moment and secretly placed a Magic Stone along with Claws into her hand. 0

"In the future, if you take on hunting missions, remember to keep in touch," Rand's voice suddenly appeared in Freya's ear, though his lips remained closed. 0

Seeing this, Freya understood that Rand was using an unknown secret communication method and did not want the other two to know. 0

Realizing Rand's intentions, Freya smiled and gently nodded, putting the Magic Stone and Claws back into her Gray Robe. 0

"Alright, the mission is over. I've already notified my friend to come and carry away the bodies using the Communication Ring. If you have nothing else to do, you can come back with me," Rand invited. 0

"Just in time, I have nothing to do either. I'll go back with Senior Rand," another girl immediately responded to Rand's words, clearly indicating her intention to get closer. 0

"I'll pass. I still have a mission left unfinished," Furante also noticed the girl's intentions and tactfully declined. 0

"Freya, what about you? Do you want to come back with us? You might be interested in meeting some of my friends," Rand turned to Freya and asked gently, ignoring the conversation between the two. 0

"No, I need to finish this mission first. I want to buy a Spell Model that I've been eyeing. Maybe next time," Freya replied with a smile. 0

"Oh, that's too bad," Rand said with a hint of regret. 0

"Then I'll take my leave," Freya nodded at him, reattaching her Cross Sword to her waist and turning directly towards the academy. 0

After Freya left, Furante also took the opportunity to head in the opposite direction. 0

Rand quietly watched Freya as she walked away, gently stroking his chin. 0

“Senior Rand, could it be that you have taken a liking to... Senior Freya?” The girl standing next to Rand looked at him, feeling somewhat inferior to Freya's abilities, but her youthful heart prompted her to voice her curiosity. 0

“Taken a liking?” Hearing the girl's words, Rand turned around in surprise, then smiled and teased, “How could that be? If I were to take a liking to someone, it would be you first, Junior Lena.” 0

“Ah?? Senior... are you joking??” The girl named Lena covered her mouth in disbelief. 0

“Of course, I'm just joking.” 0

... 0

Unbeknownst to the two chatting, Freya hurried towards the academy. 0

The black leather boots she wore felt uncomfortable against the damp and rugged ground. She tightened the hood on her head to prevent rainwater from seeping inside as she ran. 0

‘With this reward added in, I can just afford the Basic Knowledge course in the Enchantment Department. However, the remaining Magic Stones won't be enough to purchase another Spell Model. In the end, I still can't compare to those apprentices backed by their families,’ Freya sighed softly. 0

Aelgreen Wizard Academy was not merely a school; it seemed more like a vast Wizard Organization formed by several Elk Wizard Families joining forces. 0

While absorbing talented Apprentice Wizards, they would also issue various tasks in between. 0

After becoming an Official Wizard, there would be opportunities to choose to join one of the Elk Wizard Families and serve as a member. 0

Rand was one of these promising apprentices from the Elk Wizard Families. 0

Freya had encountered similar secretive recruitment offers several times. Although she was tempted, considering her own commitments and those promised to Hegel, joining an Elk Wizard Family would impose various restrictions on her actions, which was something she did not want. 0

However, she had always envied the various benefits of joining the Elk Wizard Family. 0

"Sigh... I guess I should just honestly complete missions to save up Magic Stones," Freya said, shaking her head helplessly. 0

Suddenly, her Communication Ring on her index finger became warm, causing her to stop in her tracks. 0

"An employment message?" Freya raised an eyebrow at the flashing red light on the ring. 0

Following Kaidy's suggestion, she had submitted her information into the mission files when accepting hunting tasks, making it available for mentors' hiring. 0

However, since she was only a second-tier apprentice belonging to the Positive Energy System, she hadn't received any news and had almost forgotten about it. 0

She never expected that after such a long time, an Official Wizard would actually choose her. 0

"I wonder what kind of employment it is. If the reward is low, I'll just refuse it," Freya decided as she looked at the blinking Communication Ring. (To be continued) 0
