Freya did not know, nor did she want to know, what happened later in the library.
She quickly returned to her dormitory at Knight's Pinnacle and closed the door.
Taking a deep breath, she slowly exhaled, allowing herself to gradually enter a state of relaxation.
After a while, once the slight agitation in her chest had calmed down, she quietly sighed in relief.
The agitation had been becoming more frequent and was slowly becoming intolerant to even the slightest stimulus. If she had stayed a few minutes longer in the library, it might have erupted by now.
"It seems I underestimated the confidentiality of Cursed Items," she thought to herself while sitting on her bed, reflecting on the erased blank space.
Although she had gathered some clues during her time in the library, today had completely extinguished her desire to search for leads within it.
Most of the books in the library were ordinary... otherwise, there wouldn't be such loose management allowing students to come and go freely.
"Cursed Items or information about wizards definitely exist, but they are likely in the hands of some Nobles or powerful individuals... Obtaining them would not be easy," Freya frowned slightly.
Suddenly, she recalled the librarian's strange words when she first entered the library that afternoon.
Thinking back to the old man's seemingly favorable attitude towards her, her narrowed eyes flickered.
"This could be a breakthrough..."
Seeing the noble young man walking towards them, Sophia clearly became a bit nervous, and Freya, standing beside her, could almost hear her heavy breathing.
Freya glanced back and forth between the two, instinctively wanting to take a step back to give them space to talk, and then planned to quietly leave the area.
However, to her surprise, the noble young man did not even look at Sophia but directly approached her.
"Freya, do you remember me? I'm your classmate from the Language Department, Thomas William. You can just call me Thomas," the noble young man introduced himself with a mischievous smile, but his grin seemed to be an awkward imitation of someone else and did not match his ordinary face.
"Hello, may I ask what this is about?"
Freya frowned slightly as she looked at Thomas. The restless feeling in her chest required her to expend mental energy to control it, so she found it hard to tolerate Thomas's sudden approach.
Moreover, she had maintained an aloof demeanor at the academy until now; suddenly having someone approach her who she had little impression of inevitably made her feel that he had some ulterior motive.
"Well... Eisen from the Combat Department, Aisendru, is my cousin. He has a letter he wants me to give you."
Seemingly caught off guard by Freya's cold tone, Thomas hesitated slightly, and his smile faltered.
Meanwhile, Sophia standing beside them did not seem to mind Thomas ignoring her awkwardness; instead, she was in a state of nervous excitement since Thomas entered the library, her face flushed as she stared at him without blinking.
"Hmm?" Freya watched as he took out an envelope from his waist and handed it to her.
The envelope was white, adorned with large heart shapes drawn with a feather pen, and a faint floral scent wafted from it.
Freya took the envelope and gently squeezed it; it felt thick and seemed to contain something else inside based on her sense of touch.
Seeing Freya calmly accept the envelope, Thomas let out a light breath as if he had accomplished something significant. However, his heart sank again when Freya merely glanced at it and then stuffed the envelope back into his hand without even opening it.
"I'm sorry, I have something else to do. Maybe next time." The tone was calm.
A simple refusal, with no room for negotiation.
Freya glanced at Sophia, who was still in a daze, shook her head, and directly bypassed Thomas, leaving the library.
Aisendru had been a hot topic among the new students since arriving at the academy. He was a rising figure at Dragon Academy, the second son of Duke Rudin, Eisen Drew. It seemed he had been exiled here due to some serious mistakes, essentially under house arrest. Regardless, his status made him a significant presence here; some said that even the elusive headmaster came out to welcome him upon his enrollment.
Freya had never even seen him in person, let alone anything else. She never expected this prominent figure would write to her, and it was clearly a love letter—truly unbelievable.
However, given her nearly thirty years of real age, she didn't take such tricks seriously at all.
Thomas stared blankly at the letter in his hand, momentarily lost in thought before scratching his head in frustration.
He had been secretly following Freya for some time to learn about her daily schedule and had finally mustered the courage to approach her today.
Moreover, he had promised Eisen that he would deliver the message; he just didn't expect Freya to refuse outright...
"This is troublesome..." He blinked as he watched Freya's figure disappear completely, frowning as he put the envelope back into his waist pouch.
Just as he was about to head back, Sophia, standing nearby, seemed to suddenly snap out of her infatuation and grabbed Thomas's wrist with surprising strength.
"Uh..." Suddenly caught by such force, Thomas felt like his hand might break. When he turned to see what was happening, a pale-faced boy suddenly came into view.
"Y-You... Hello! Thomas! It's nice to meet you... I'm Sophia!! I like you!!!"
"!!!!!!!!"
In a luxurious room in the Boys' Dormitory, far from the Girls' Dormitory, several boys dressed in noble-style clothing were gathered around a Go Chess board game.
Two boys, appearing to be around fifteen or sixteen years old, were engaged in a match.
One of them looked troubled as he faced the board, while the other appeared relaxed.
After a long while, the troubled boy tossed his piece aside and complimented the boy across from him.
"You're truly impressive, Cousin Eisen. Your skills in both swordsmanship and chess are remarkable."
"Haha, don't be so modest. You're not bad yourself. I'll mention your claim to that shop to my father," Eisen said, satisfied as he collected his pieces. Regardless of whether the compliment was genuine, he enjoyed the other's attitude towards him.
Upon hearing Eisen's words, the losing boy's expression became even more flattering. Suddenly, he thought of something and asked,
"By the way, Cousin Eisen, why are you interested in that ice queen from the Language Department? She's beautiful, but..."
"What do you know?" Eisen chuckled as he rarely took the initiative to tidy up the pieces. "Don't you think a woman like that has her charm? I've seen all kinds of women in the capital, but I enjoy melting ice queens the most~"
"Uh... Cousin Eisen's taste is truly refined... I never thought of that... I wonder if Thomas delivered that letter to her. I spent all night writing it..."
"You only wrote it for one night! The design on that envelope was drawn by me! And that fragrant ink was stolen from my father's stash for love letters! Do you know how terrible it would be if we got caught?!" another boy exclaimed as he patted the back of the troubled boy's head.
"Exactly! It was my idea to find that envelope!"
"And me too! Don't forget me!"
Eisen smiled as he watched the others in the room bicker, feeling a sense of superiority rising within him.
"Regardless of how my father treats me, as long as I am his son, there will always be a group of people around me to serve my needs, whether it's confinement or anything else."
"Click"
The sound of the door opening immediately silenced the group, and they turned to look at the entrance.
A dazed Thomas walked in, with a large red lip mark on the left side of his face, resembling blood.
Seeing his lost expression, everyone was momentarily stunned.
Eisen, sitting at the back, looked him up and down with some surprise.
"Thomas, what happened? Are you okay?"
As if awakened by Eisen's words, Thomas's vacant gaze shifted slightly, and a tear escaped from the corner of his eye.
"Eisen, cousin... I... I have fallen in love..."
