"You don't need to worry about that," Irena winked at her. "Haven't you heard of Dragon Harbor? It's a place where you can buy anything as long as you have money."
"Who are you...?" Freya looked at her with some understanding, beginning to grasp the true meaning of Dragon Harbor. "But the tuition..."
Since the academy was open to everyone, the fees were certainly not low.
Although Baron and the others had some money on them now, given the current situation, they needed to use that money for many other things, so what they could offer her was definitely not enough.
"As for the fees, as your older sister, I can still afford it. You just need to study hard inside," Irena reminded her carefully. "If you do well, you might even qualify for a scholarship to Rudin Imperial Academy. The prosperity of our family will depend on you."
Listening to Irena's words, it was clear that her sister had thought everything through, which left Freya with no inclination to refuse.
After hesitating for a moment, she turned her gaze to Baron. Once he nodded gently, she said, "Alright then, when does registration end? I want to go later."
"No need to wait; you can go tomorrow," Baron patted her shoulder with a hopeful look in his eyes. "Dragon Academy is on the other side of the harbor; it takes about four or five hours to get there. Although it's still within the registration period, there isn't much time left."
"Okay..."
Baron's gaze made her nod firmly.
A four or five-hour journey wasn't very far. If Baron had something to attend to, he could return quickly. But if what Irena said was true and she could get a scholarship to Rudin's Imperial Capital Academy, then her future would be bright. Perhaps the Green Family would shine even more in Rudin than Byron.
Seeing Freya agree, Baron smiled; however, there was a hint of reluctance in his eyes that Freya didn't notice.
That evening.
After dinner, Freya didn't return to her bedroom as usual but knocked on Baron's door.
Although Dragon Academy was semi-closed off, the journey didn't allow her to come and go freely; she could only return if there was an urgent matter. She knew that this time out might take a long while before she could come back.
Although Baron did not express any worries, she was still concerned about the matter, which is why she wanted to talk to him. This was the only comfort a daughter about to leave could offer her father.
In the quiet estate, no one knew what Baron and Freya were discussing; they only knew that Freya returned very late.
The next morning.
The faint stars could still be seen in the Misty Sky.
Outside the estate, a carriage was parked in front of the door.
Freya took the luggage and a golden card that Baron handed her and placed them into the carriage.
"Be safe on the road," Baron said, gently stroking her golden hair with a soft gaze, while Irena stood quietly beside them, watching.
"Okay!" Freya nodded lightly, smiling at her father, who looked somewhat aged after a night. His blue eyes held both coldness and determination.
Without hesitation, she climbed into the carriage.
'Crack!'
The whip cracked sharply as the driver swung it, and the carriage began to move slowly.
Aside from Baron and Irena, no one else knew about Freya's departure, so only the two of them saw her off.
As the carriage gradually moved away, she turned back and saw Baron standing there through the thin mist. Dressed in black, he looked like a Blackstone statue, watching her leave slowly.
Gently rubbing her eyes, she suddenly realized that a tear had fallen from her eye.
Quickly wiping away the tear stains from her face, she looked back again but saw that the estate was becoming blurred as the carriage continued forward.
The faint emotions in her heart began to fade as she left. She turned around and leaned against the side of the carriage, instinctively touching her Cross Sword. The thought of becoming stronger grew ever more resolute within her.
Four days later.
In the South of Dragon Harbor.
On a wide road, several ordinary brown carriages were weaving through, each traveling in its own direction.
On both sides of the road, in addition to houses, there were various shops. Some pedestrians were coming in and out of those shops, purchasing the things they needed.
Freya was somewhat bored as she looked at the surroundings.
These sights had initially attracted her, but now, after looking for a while, she found them rather uninteresting.
This was her fourth day away from the estate. The good security in Dragon Harbor meant she hadn't encountered any trouble along the way, which made her feel somewhat out of place after leaving Byron.
From her conversation with Baron that night, Freya had a general understanding of what Baron intended to do next.
Although Dragon Harbor was a trading city, it was not lacking in battles and dangers. Baron's idea was to establish a mercenary group to take on some missions.
After all, aside from fighting, Baron and his group were not particularly skilled in other areas; forming a mercenary group was essentially returning to their old profession.
Moreover, given their strength, unless they encountered something particularly unexpected, there shouldn't be much danger. With financial support from Irena's side, establishing themselves in Dragon Harbor would also be quite easy.
Freya touched the Gold Card at her waist that represented five thousand gold coins and let out a slight sigh of admiration.
Five thousand gold coins would fill two boxes if stored away.
That amount would be equivalent to half a year's tax revenue for Green Castle!
Such a figure was handed over to her by Irena without batting an eye, which made her realize the power of her sister and brother-in-law's family.
Although attending the academy required spending money, as long as she didn't waste it, this amount would be enough for her to complete all her studies and cover daily expenses, and she might even have plenty left over.
Freya, feeling a bit tired, blinked and lowered the curtains before closing her eyes.
She had gradually gotten used to the colorful particles in her vision, but the restless feeling in her chest was becoming increasingly difficult to suppress. She could only take simple breaks every so often to recover her weary mind.
This made her appear much more fatigued than usual recently.
Dragon Academy, although built on wealth, had a decent reserve of knowledge. It was said to have Great Knight-level instructors, which filled Freya with curiosity about the place.
'I hope they have what I need there,' she thought quietly as she kept her eyes closed.
As time passed and she was on the verge of falling asleep, the carriage suddenly came to a stop.
"Sister, we've arrived at Dragon Academy," the coachman's voice called from outside the carriage, startling her awake.
"Have we arrived?" Freya opened her eyes and lifted the curtain of the carriage window. In her line of sight stood a black iron gate, flanked by many carriages. Several elegantly dressed young boys and girls were stepping down from their vehicles.
Beside the half-open gate were two makeshift tables where several middle-aged individuals in White Robes were seated, distributing forms and collecting tuition fees from those wishing to enter the academy.
