"In our current situation, as long as we ensure safety, we have no choice but to follow their path. I know that their things are disguised, but what does it matter? I can see that the man who saved us has ulterior motives, but haven't we also intended to use them... This is merely a sudden transaction!"
Listening to Deng Liwei's words, the swordsman who had asked the question thought for a moment and could only sigh. Originally, there were ten brothers who came out, but now only three remained. This situation indeed made it impossible to leave Sikou Prairie safely.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Baron suddenly threw a round badge in front of Freya while walking quickly across the grass.
Freya caught it swiftly and looked at the badge in her hand with mild curiosity; it bore the emblem of the dock.
"With this, we won't have to spend a lot of effort looking for a ship. This will save us quite a bit of time and money," Baron said cheerfully.
Freya nodded in agreement.
She knew that while Daqier City did not prohibit people from other places from entering, there were strict regulations regarding going out to sea. After all, the sea involved some matters related to the Sea Tribe. If they wanted to set sail, they needed approval from the relevant authorities, which was undoubtedly bad news for Freya and her group who were on the run.
She just didn't expect to find someone from the Shabrol Family along the way; it seemed that Lady Luck was watching over them.
Soon, the two arrived at the place where the convoy had stopped. Several Guards were vigilantly observing their surroundings. When they saw the two approaching from a distance, their expressions relaxed slightly.
Like a powerful whirlwind, before the group of bandits could react, the sharp blade swiftly swept across their necks.
Silver streaks appeared and vanished in the air.
The swift figure made it so that the bandits couldn't even touch Freya's clothing before they fell dead.
Her exceptionally high Agility was perfect for clearing tasks.
Standing on the outskirts, Baron stared blankly at everything his daughter was doing, only able to pick off a few stragglers.
"This child seems to have grown stronger again," Baron murmured as he casually struck down a bandit who had hurriedly fled but collided with him.
Meanwhile, the three swordsmen who had prepared to fight to the death were also dumbfounded, watching the bandits fall like wheat being cut down, each one with their mouths agape, unsure of what to say.
Freya lightly flicked her Cross Sword across the last bandit's neck. Watching the blood spray out, she took out a white handkerchief she always carried and gently wiped the stains from her sword.
In her eyes, these bandits were even worse than Byron's imperial soldiers; their movements seemed deliberately slow, making it almost effortless for her to take them down one by one, each strike aimed at their vital necks.
If she weren't afraid of them fleeing like the imperial soldiers did before, she could have easily killed them all without even needing to activate her senses; the only difference would have been time.
"Too... too amazing," one of the stunned swordsmen stared at the calm Freya, his face filled with disbelief.
Perhaps feeling embarrassed by his unintentional words, after his astonishment faded, he solemnly approached Freya and Baron with a tone of gratitude and said, "Thank you so much! If it weren't for you, we might have really been done for."
The swordsman, along with the two people behind him, bowed deeply to express his gratitude.
"You're welcome. Our caravan heard the sounds of fighting from a distance and came to take a look. We didn't expect to find you battling with bandits. After all, we are all out here, so we should help each other as much as we can," Baron said, pretending to be familiar as he waved his hand.
"My name is Deng Liwei. I don't know your names yet..." The swordsman felt an instant increase in goodwill upon hearing Baron's words and voluntarily revealed his name.
"I'm Andrew, and this is my daughter Eluda. We are merchants from Byron heading to Daqier City to take a ship to sell some goods at Rudin's Dragon Harbor," Baron skillfully provided false names while also mentioning their destination.
"Daqier City?" Deng Liwei's eyes lit up with joy. "That's perfect! We are also headed to Daqier City. I am a guard for the Shabrol Family, and I am escorting my Sister Freya back to the city. If it's convenient, we can travel together. Of course, I will treat you both well when we arrive in the city..."
"Chabrol?" Baron feigned surprise. "Are you from that family in Daqier City that has the largest shipyard..."
"That's right! We are the Chabrol family that manufactures ships." Satisfied with Baron's reaction, Deng Liwei nodded proudly.
Freya, standing aside, looked somewhat speechless at Baron's performance, momentarily altering her perception of him.
Losing interest in their conversation, she casually glanced around at the bandits she had just defeated and found that most of them had nothing of value; they were practically a bunch of poor fools.
Having found nothing worthwhile, she clapped her hands and turned her curiosity toward the carriage.
Aside from Deng Liwei conversing with Baron, after thanking the two men, the remaining swordsmen quickly opened the carriage to check on the safety of those inside.
In the gap between their conversations, Freya saw a young and beautiful woman in a Red Long Skirt inside the carriage, her eyes tightly shut as if she had fainted. In the woman's arms was a child who was still sobbing uncontrollably.
It seemed this person was Sister Freya of Chabrol. However, from Freya's perspective, it was easy to see that this woman was at most eighteen years old; it was surprising that she already had a child.
In her previous life, Freya had seen many women in their thirties who were still unmarried, which made her feel a bit contemplative compared to this world.
While Freya was lost in thought, Baron and Deng Liwei seemed to have finished their conversation.
Baron waved his hand to call Freya over and said, "I'll have our convoy come over shortly, so please wait a moment."
"Alright, thank you once again!" Deng Liwei replied with a smile.
As he spoke with Baron, his eyes occasionally glanced at Freya, filled not only with gratitude but also deep curiosity.
Although Baron had mentioned that they were merchants, it was not hard to see through this clumsy lie if one had any sense. After all, no merchant could possess the formidable strength of a Knight Level.
However, Deng Liwei chose not to expose this lie and instead went along with Baron's words.
Baron and Freya turned to leave to summon the convoy behind them.
It wasn't until the two disappeared into the grassland that Deng Liwei withdrew his gaze.
The smile on his face gradually faded.
Meanwhile, a swordsman who was packing up slightly raised his head and asked Deng Liwei, "My lord, are we really going to follow these unknown individuals?"
In response to the swordsman's question, Deng Liwei took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
