Lingfeng was quite confident in his words. Although he was not a top disciple in the Demon Suppression Sect, he was still someone of importance. From any perspective, Lingfeng had considerable standing in the Demon Suppression Sect and could still be taken seriously.
Wanshitong believed in Lingfeng's status within the Demon Suppression Sect, but there were matters that Lingfeng could not resolve, so he smiled and said, "Do you think you are a great immortal? There are some things you cannot solve!"
"That would be strange. If I cannot help you resolve your relationship with the Demon Suppression Sect, it would probably lead to either a vendetta or a personal grudge!"
Wanshitong was taken aback and then looked at Lingfeng incredulously, smiling wryly, "When we get there, you'll understand!"
As they spoke, the two had already passed through the State Government's territory and soon arrived at the Demon Suppression Mountain. Although the cloud-riding technique was not as fast as the Flying Sword, Wanshitong was still a top Demon Cultivator, so this journey was relatively short for him.
Demon Suppression Mountain remained unchanged, just as it always had been. Now Lingfeng could understand Azure Vine's excitement upon returning to the Demon Suppression Sect from that world and couldn't help but say to Wanshitong, "Brother, let's go to the side!"
"Why go around when there's a main entrance? Are you planning to climb over the wall?" Wanshitong did not understand Lingfeng's intention but still rode his cloud to the side of Demon Suppression Mountain.
The three characters "Demon Suppression Sect" were still prominently displayed on the broken wall of Demon Suppression Mountain, exuding an imposing aura. Lingfeng felt a surge of emotions and couldn't help but shout, "I’m back!"
He then used his flying technique and landed directly on the broken wall.
As soon as he landed, a familiar feeling suddenly emerged. Two children who looked like disciples flew over on a crane and approached Lingfeng, asking innocently, "Who are you? How did you enter Demon Suppression Mountain?"
Lingfeng smiled and asked, "Are you new disciples?"
The two disciples exchanged glances but nodded nonetheless.
"Then do you know Lingfeng?" Lingfeng thought his name would still be known in the Demon Suppression Sect and asked tentatively.
The two disciples frowned for a moment before replying, "Of course we know him. He is our Shixu (Master), but he is currently on a mission and hasn't returned yet. If you're looking for him, you'll have to wait a few days!"
Lingfeng couldn't help but smile as he looked at Wanshitong who had just landed, feeling quite pleased with himself.
"I thought you were a disciple here? How did you end up in the position of Shixu?" Wan Shitong asked in confusion.
The two Disciples were taken aback by Wan Shitong's words, and they immediately lowered the height of their flying crane, softly asking, "Could it be that you are Lingfeng Shixu?"
Lingfeng nodded proudly and said, "I was brought here by Azure Vine Brother, and I am also referred to as a brother to Qing. So even though I am a later disciple, I am cultivating here with the identity of these disciples' Shixu!"
"Exactly, exactly." The two Disciples, seeing that Lingfeng was not lying, quickly jumped down and bowed to Lingfeng, saying, "Disciple pays respects to Shixu!"
In fact, Lingfeng was three or four years older than them, but he had already developed into an adult figure while the two disciples still looked like children.
"Alright, I need to meet Qing Sect Leader soon. You two go patrol for now!" Lingfeng patted the heads of the two Disciples and said in a mature manner.
Receiving the order, the two Disciples agreed and jumped onto the flying crane, then flew off to another location.
Wan Shitong couldn't help but laugh, pointing at Lingfeng and saying, "You really know how to put on an act, acting so maturely; it really looks convincing!"
Lingfeng pouted and replied dismissively, "After all, I am a Shixu-level figure. Naturally, I have to maintain some authority in front of these new disciples!" With that, Lingfeng headed towards the supervisor.
Wan Shitong followed beside Lingfeng without feeling any discomfort; instead, it made Lingfeng feel a bit strange. He asked, "Big Brother, don't you want to avoid this?"
"Good fortune is not a disaster; if it's a disaster, you can't escape it!" Wan Shitong simply said this and continued walking.
Everything in Demon Suppression Sect remained unchanged; even every blade of grass and tree was as Lingfeng remembered. Although only a few months had passed, it felt like an eternity.
Some new disciples were training their physical abilities, and one person at the forefront stood with hands behind his back, supervising their practice.
Lingfeng looked closely and was pleasantly surprised to find it was Zhi Lian. He couldn't help but shout loudly, "Zhi Lian!"
Zhi Lian was momentarily stunned before turning to look in Lingfeng's direction. His face broke into a smile as he instructed the disciples on something before running over to Lingfeng.
“Shixu, you’re back!” Zhi Lian ran to Lingfeng’s side, ignoring the bystander, and joyfully approached Lingfeng.
Lingfeng nodded, glanced at the disciples who were resting and practicing, and smiled, “I didn’t expect that after half a year, you’ve started training disciples too!”
“Not really,” Zhi Lian scratched his head shyly and said with a smile, “I’m just supervising their practice in the capacity of a senior brother; this is also what the Sect Master instructed!” After a pause, Zhi Lian asked again, “Have you seen the Sect Master?”
Lingfeng shook his head and patted Zhi Lian on the shoulder, saying, “I didn’t expect to see you here!” He then sighed lightly, said nothing more, and parted ways with Zhi Lian, heading straight for the main hall.
The main hall was very quiet, even devoid of any cleaning staff. The ground was already covered with fallen leaves, giving it a somewhat desolate appearance.
Lingfeng found it strange; when he was here before, it had always been very clean, and those waiting for orders would never stray far. But now it seemed something had happened.
Filled with curiosity, Lingfeng stepped lightly forward. As he reached the entrance of the hall and was about to push the door open, someone suddenly emerged from the side and softly called out to stop him.
Lingfeng turned his head to see that it was Fire Serpent.
“Senior Brother!” Lingfeng couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise.
Fire Serpent flashed a hint of joy but then cautiously looked around the hall and quietly pointed to a room on the other side of the hall.
Lingfeng understood; it seemed something indeed had happened in the main hall. He nodded lightly and then led the bystander toward that room.
Upon entering the room, Fire Serpent gently closed the door and then looked at the bystander with confusion.
The bystander also appeared helpless, seemingly unsure where to direct his gaze.
“Bystander, didn’t you already go into seclusion? How did you end up here?” Fire Serpent asked in puzzlement.
Seeing that Fire Serpent had no other intentions and seemed to have no grievances with the bystander, Lingfeng interjected, “He and I are already brothers; I brought my elder brother here.”
Fire Serpent nodded slightly and did not ask further questions, as he was well aware of Monkey Head's character. He then sat down beside Lingfeng and softly asked, "How is the task assigned by the Sect Leader coming along?"
Lingfeng sighed lightly, looking somewhat troubled. "Monkey Head has already been taken to Spirit Sect, and is currently cultivating at Demon Spirit Mountain!"
Upon hearing Lingfeng's words, Fire Serpent did not react much, as if this matter was already within his expectations.
"Now that the Demon Relic has also appeared, I wonder if Spirit Sect has found it!"
"Don't worry about that. With my help, my brother has already obtained the Demon Relic!" After a moment of silence, the ever-inquisitive one suddenly interrupted their conversation, looking quite pleased.
Fire Serpent cast a doubtful glance at the ever-inquisitive one, then looked at Lingfeng.
Lingfeng nodded and softly recited an Incantation. Suddenly, a bead radiating Demonic Energy appeared on the index finger of Lingfeng's right hand.
"This... is this the Demon Relic?" Fire Serpent looked at Lingfeng in surprise, then reached out to take the Demon Relic, gazing curiously at the bead in his hand.
"By the way, what is the Sect Leader doing? Why does the main hall seem so desolate?" Only then did Lingfeng recall what he had just seen and asked in confusion.
"Oh," Fire Serpent came back to his senses and returned the Demon Relic to Lingfeng, explaining, "The Sect Leader is in closed-door cultivation and is expected to break through to the Nascent Soul Stage soon!"
Lingfeng was overjoyed; he hadn't expected that during his absence, Qing had made a new breakthrough in cultivation.
However, Fire Serpent was not in the mood for small talk with Lingfeng. He expressed some concern, saying, "But with the Demon Relic in your possession, aren't you afraid of being hunted down?"
"Actually, I came back this time to place the Demon Relic in the Demon Suppression Sect, which would be relatively safer!"
Fire Serpent nodded and said, "Since you've returned this time, you might not be able to leave easily. It would be better to wait until the Sect Leader comes out before making any plans!"
Waiting for the Sect Leader to emerge from closed-door cultivation was certainly no problem. However, Lingfeng was puzzled as to why Fire Serpent thought he might not be able to leave. He looked at Fire Serpent, waiting for him to explain further.
Fire Serpent noticed Lingfeng's thoughts and couldn't help but chuckle a couple of times, then cast a look of pity towards the Know-it-all.
The Know-it-all shivered, looking at Lingfeng in confusion.
At that moment, hurried footsteps were heard from outside, followed by the sound of the door being flung open as a group of people entered.
Fire Serpent laughed mischievously, while Lingfeng and the Know-it-all felt a mix of surprise and joy. They then glanced at some of the others who wore expressions of anger and delight, wishing they could escape far away. Their hearts felt like a mix of grains, not knowing what to feel.
It turned out that the ones entering were the Peak Masters from the other four peaks, with Enchanting and Lili following closely behind, both looking excited.
They arrived so suddenly that Lingfeng didn't even have time to greet them. He saw Mu Feng Peak Master and Mu Qiu pushing their way through the crowd with looks of surprise on their faces, before rushing towards the Know-it-all and Lingfeng.
"That...,"
Just as Lingfeng was about to explain something to Enchanting, he suddenly heard Mu Qiu shout, "You heartless one, how dare you come here!"
Though Mu Qiu was exceptionally beautiful and alluring, her temperament was extremely volatile; she was known as the He Dong Lion of the Demon Suppression Sect. Her shout startled everyone, drawing all attention towards her. Even Enchanting, who had been fuming with anger, was taken aback and turned to look at Mu Qiu, forgetting about Lingfeng.
