"It’s strange, even the Primeval Wilderness shouldn't be this desolate!" Lingfeng couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated. It was indeed odd that such a large forest had no visible animals. 0

Unable to find an answer, Lingfeng had no choice but to return along the original path. However, halfway through, a sudden chill swept through the air. The previously clear sky darkened, and the once red trees began to turn black. 0

Lingfeng cautiously looked around as a sense of oppression gradually enveloped him, making him feel quite uncomfortable. The original path also started to twist and distort, and he could vaguely see flickering flames in the distance. 0

"Could there be someone?" Lingfeng followed the light, but it seemed to grow farther away, quickly surpassing his speed. 0

"Hey, is anyone up ahead?" Lingfeng shouted towards the flames. 0

But all he received in response was the eerie sound of the wind and the changes in the path. 0

Before long, the flames had vanished from Lingfeng's sight, and he could no longer find his way back; he was lost. 0

The surroundings grew increasingly dim, and the trees began to twist into clawing shadows. 0

"Have I entered another formation?" Lingfeng had no other explanation for this scene and could only deduce that it was some kind of formation. However, such formations were complex and required someone highly skilled in formations to manipulate. 0

Just as he was at a loss, Lingfeng suddenly recalled what the knowledgeable one had said: people from Divine Fork Yang State were best at using fire to set up formations. He speculated that perhaps those flames he had seen earlier were the source of the formation. 0

"As long as it's not a lethal formation, there must be a way to break it!" With this thought in mind, Lingfeng took out a Firecracker and ignited it, holding it in his hand to see more clearly. 0

However, it seemed as if a lampshade covered the flame in Lingfeng's hand; the faint light only illuminated his palm and did nothing for his surroundings. 0

This sight made Lingfeng feel uneasy. If things continued like this, finding the source of the formation would indeed be quite difficult. 0

After some thought, Lingfeng leaped into the air and used his flying ability to ascend. Yet those clawing trees seemed to grow taller as well; with Lingfeng's ascent, their height continuously increased, completely blocking his line of sight. 0

"You despicable trees!" Lingfeng's anger grew stronger as he landed on the ground, drawing out the Connecting Rod and smashing it against a nearby tree. 0

With a loud crash, the once menacing tree was instantly shattered. 0

"Let's see what tricks you have left. I'll burn you all to ashes with the Fire Control Technique!" Lingfeng scoffed, preparing to use the Fire Control Technique to incinerate the trees. 0

However, before Lingfeng could make a move, the trees suddenly emitted a series of creaking sounds, like rusty iron machines struggling to move their joints. 0

"Are you scared? Then get out of my way!" Lingfeng paused his actions and threatened the trees. 0

The trees hesitated for a moment, then, as if enraged beasts, their trunks bent together and launched an attack towards Lingfeng. 0

Startled, Lingfeng realized these were not ordinary trees. Without thinking further, he rolled away from his original position, narrowly avoiding the trees' assault. Where he had been standing moments before, several deep pits appeared from where the tree trunks had struck. 0

The trees were densely packed, and Lingfeng felt as if he were amidst an army of giants, focusing solely on dodging without any chance to counterattack. 0

"If this keeps up, I'll either be smashed into a pulp by these monstrous trees or die from exhaustion!" Lingfeng thought breathlessly after evading several attacks. 0

"Unless..." A sudden spark of inspiration hit him as he recalled another ability of his. He hadn't used that skill in a long time, and now was the perfect moment to showcase it. 0

With that thought in mind, Lingfeng felt a surge of excitement. Just as several trees surrounded him and swung down for another strike, he shouted and vanished from his spot. 0

Indeed, this ability of Lingfeng's was the Earth Escape Technique. 0

Although this area was set up with formations, the elements that made up the land had not changed. The person who arranged the formation likely did not anticipate that someone in the Cultivation Realm would be proficient in the Earth Escape Technique. 0

Although this formation was powerful, it did not extend underground. The scene beneath the ground remained unchanged, with no strange sights or unusual tree roots; everything appeared normal, and even the angry roars from above had faded away. 0

Lingfeng knew that he had escaped the constraints of the formation, and now the most difficult task was figuring out how to escape from this place. He had completely lost his sense of direction; everything around him was dark, with no signposts or guidance. 0

If he were to surface now, there was a high chance he would be instantly crushed, so Lingfeng walked underground for a while longer. 0

After some time, Lingfeng felt a bit stifled; his breathing was becoming labored, prompting him to decide to surface. 0

Fortunately, he had managed to walk out of the forest. Outside lay a harmonious scene; the sunlight had dimmed, indicating that it was already dusk. 0

Lingfeng sighed in relief and took a deep breath. Looking around, he noticed a village not far away. The village was beautifully situated, with a gently flowing river at its entrance. Beside the riverbank stood a temple made of thatch, with a sun-shaped iron plaque hanging at its door. 0

"It seems I've arrived at the Sun God Temple!" Lingfeng brushed off the dust from his clothes and headed towards the village entrance. 0

Above the village, wisps of smoke spiraled upwards, forming a thin mist over the area. 0

Lingfeng had originally planned to hunt for some game but had unexpectedly been attacked by the formation. Now seeing that there were no fields around the village, he thought that the villagers must rely on hunting for their livelihood. The more he thought about it, the more he could smell the aroma of wild game, causing his mouth to water unconsciously. 0

"Never mind; I’ll go find something to eat first!" Lingfeng wiped his mouth and walked towards the village. 0

The village was not large, but the most prominent feature was a stone statue in the center. The statue held a sun-shaped weapon in both hands, its face stern and imposing, topped with a carved halo surrounded by flames. 0

It was easy to guess that this was the statue of the Sun God. 0

In the village, several children were playing and chasing each other without clothes. However, upon seeing Lingfeng, an outsider, they looked as if they had seen bandits and ran back to their homes in fear. 0

"Strange, why are these kids so afraid of me?" Lingfeng walked into the village. 0

Soon after, he heard some villagers shouting and running out of their homes with weapons. These people were dressed quite oddly, resembling primitive people. Most of their clothing was made from straw, with only a small piece covering them made from actual fabric. 0

When they saw Lingfeng, they shouted and rushed towards him without hesitation. 0

Lingfeng sensed that the situation was not right, but he couldn't fight them. He quickly leaped over their heads and ran behind them. 0

The villagers were taken aback; they hadn't expected the newcomer to be anything but ordinary. They turned around and stood there, warily watching Lingfeng. 0

"Everyone, don't misunderstand! I'm not a bad person; I just got lost. I stumbled upon this village and wanted to ask for some food!" Lingfeng put on a pitiful expression, which was quite different from the abilities he had just displayed. 0

"Nonsense! This village is surrounded by formations; how could you possibly get in?" one of the burly men with an iron spear said. 0

Lingfeng calmly chuckled twice and replied, "What formations? I just wandered in without realizing it!" 0

The crowd exchanged glances but did not believe Lingfeng's words. 0

One person leaned in to whisper something to the burly man. After hesitating for a moment, the man said to Lingfeng, "We don't care who you are, but the Divine Fork Yang State does not allow Demon Cultivators to enter. We will determine your identity before deciding your fate!" 0

Lingfeng shrugged and then released his Spiritual Energy. 0

Unfortunately, those villagers were not cultivators and could not sense Lingfeng's Spiritual Energy. In his helplessness, they bound him up. 0

Lingfeng naturally did not resist and allowed them to tie him up. In truth, those simple ropes could never restrain him; he simply didn't want to cause trouble. However, before they left, Lingfeng still asked, "Could you spare me some wild game?" 0

Unfortunately, Lingfeng's request was not accepted, and no one responded to him. 0

After leaving the village, these people brought Lingfeng to a gorge. There were no larger villages in the gorge, not even ordinary folk. At the end of the gorge, there appeared a cave. Above the cave, four large characters were carved on a stone slab: Sun God Cave. 0

"Are you really taking me to meet the Sun God?" Lingfeng asked with amusement as he was brought to the entrance of the cave. 0

The burly man shot Lingfeng a glare and then pulled on the rope binding him, leading him inside. 0

Inside the cave, torches were burning, and those torches were lit on a stone sphere, seemingly without any fuel. Clearly, this was achieved through Fire Control Technique. 0

As they ventured deeper into the cave, they reached an end where a stone statue appeared, identical to the one in the center of the village. However, there were no people at the end, which puzzled Lingfeng. 0

"Are you going to use this statue to determine if I am a cultivator?" Lingfeng teased. 0

Upon hearing Lingfeng's words, the expressions of those people changed. The leading burly man kicked Lingfeng hard. Caught off guard, Lingfeng fell to his knees in pain. 0

"Those who disrespect the Sun God must be punished!" declared the leading burly man. 0

Lingfeng took a deep breath; although this man was not a cultivator, he was very strong, and that kick had taken its toll on him. 0

"Well, it's just kneeling before a god; it's not such a big deal!" Lingfeng comforted himself. 0
