Ke Yu looked at Lingfeng with an innocent expression at such behavior.
At that moment, the arched door suddenly creaked open, and a long voice came from inside, "Come in!"
Taking the opportunity, Ke Yu nodded towards the inside, urging Lingfeng to enter.
Lingfeng shot Ke Yu an unwilling glare and hunched over as he walked through the archway.
Inside, it was indeed not as dark as the Sacred Hall. Several large Night Pearls were embedded in the walls. The space was also quite large, but there were hardly any furnishings around, making it feel empty and desolate.
Lingfeng looked around and, after turning a corner, noticed a man in his fifties walking inside. The man was sitting cross-legged at a stone table, his eyes slightly closed, seemingly in the midst of Cultivation.
Unsure of what to do and hesitant to disturb him, Lingfeng sat down on one side, nervously watching the man.
The man seemed completely unaware of Lingfeng's presence. However, he was the only one in the room and was the one who had just called Lingfeng in.
"Why do these people love to act so aloof? Is it really interesting?" Lingfeng thought angrily to himself.
After waiting for a while longer, Lingfeng nearly lost his patience. To him, waiting here was less appealing than fighting with those guys downstairs. He then kicked a stone on the ground out of boredom. Watching it trace a beautiful arc through the air, gradually, Lingfeng's expression began to change. At that moment, accompanied by a subtle sound followed by the noise of the stone rolling on the ground.
"Uh~~!" Lingfeng realized what it meant when a careless action could lead to trouble; the stone he had just kicked had landed squarely on the head of the Master of the Demon Cult without any deviation.
Silence—absolute silence—filled the room except for Lingfeng's nervous heartbeat.
However, the man seemed half-dead and showed no reaction whatsoever.
Exhaling deeply, Lingfeng tiptoed out and quickly pulled Ke Yu nervously down to the first floor.
The disciples on the first floor seemed to have realized what had happened and were all laughing smugly.
Lingfeng smiled at them and then made a feint as if to charge forward. Those people had seen Lingfeng's prowess before, so they quickly stepped back, and now it was Lingfeng's turn to smile proudly.
After leaving the Demon Cultivation Hall, Lingfeng remained silent, staring gloomily at the ground.
"Junior Brother, what's wrong? Why don't you stay in the Demon Cultivation Hall to cultivate?" Ke Yu asked.
Lingfeng sighed and said in confusion, "The Master of the Demon Cult seems like a dead person. He clearly called me in, but he didn't react at all and just left me hanging!"
The sun was already setting in the west, casting a reddish hue over the entire Spirit Sect, with the buildings resembling local tyrants tightly surrounding Lingfeng.
"The Master of the Demon Cult is the most peculiar and solitary among these Hall Masters. We rarely see his true form. Even meals are only delivered by Ke Zhan."
"Oh dear!" Lingfeng sighed in distress, rubbed his stomach, looked at Ke Yu, and said, "Speaking of food, I'm getting hungry!"
"Hungry?" Ke Yu seemed puzzled, rubbing his bald head. "Aren't you already enlightened? How can you still be hungry?"
Lingfeng sighed and gazed at the western sunset. "Ever since I became enlightened, with endless offerings and delicacies, I've become quite able to eat."
Ke Yu nodded and then smiled. "It should be mealtime now, but there isn't a public dining hall here. Each hall has its own kitchen, and the quality of food varies!"
The three halls had different ranks, so naturally, the quality of food varied as well.
Lingfeng rubbed his stomach again, thinking about various delicious dishes, unable to resist swallowing his saliva. In an instant, he caught a whiff of meat aroma. Based on his judgment from Follow the Wind Field, he knew that the smell was coming from the Demon Cultivation Hall, so he hurriedly pulled Ke Yu toward it.
"Junior Brother, I can't eat in the Demon Cultivation Hall; I need to return to the Cultivation Hall!" Ke Yu said nervously.
Lingfeng patted his chest confidently and declared, "With me around, what are you afraid of!" He then forcefully dragged Ke Yu into the Demon Cultivation Hall.
At this moment, the training hall of the Demon Cultivation Hall had set up two rows of tables, with disciples sitting on either side, led by Ke Zhan and Ke Fei.
Lingfeng didn't care much about them and simply ignored their presence. He found a seat and forcibly pressed Ke Yu down beside him.
The disciples were taken aback and couldn't help but gasp in surprise.
Ke Zhan frowned and then shook the bell beside him, saying, "Everyone is here, let's eat!"
At that moment, a frail boy walked out from another door, his clothes tattered, seemingly a servant of the place. He was carrying two wooden buckets filled with dishes. Following him was another boy who looked exactly like the first one, also carrying a wooden bucket filled with steamed buns and rice.
"Is this how they eat in the Mandala Demon Realm? It looks like feeding dogs!" Lingfeng frowned and said casually.
Ke Yu broke out in a cold sweat and whispered in Lingfeng's ear, "This is the custom here!"
Lingfeng nodded, then stood up. Without asking for the two boys' permission, he directly used a Connecting Rod to lift the four wooden buckets.
"Senior brother..." the boy behind weakly called out.
Lingfeng turned around, looked at the terrified boy, and smiled as he said, "Little brother, I believe in doing my own things myself, so I won't trouble you." Just as he was about to walk back to his seat, two boys suddenly cried out in pain from behind.
"Ah~~!"
Lingfeng jolted and quickly turned around to find that the two boys had long cuts appearing on their backs while Ke Zhan was playing with a black whip in his hand.
"Don't you know the rules of the Mandala Demon Realm? Go get the food!" Ke Zhan shouted at the boys.
The two boys didn't dare hesitate and hurriedly walked in front of Lingfeng, bowed deeply, and brought over the wooden buckets filled with food.
Lingfeng knew that Ke Zhan did not dare to provoke him, so he took his anger out on the two boys. He also understood that Ke Zhan was actually speaking indirectly; it was Lingfeng who truly did not understand the rules of the Mandala Demon Realm.
"Hmph!" Lingfeng snorted coldly and then sat back in his original position.
However, things were never-ending. Even if Lingfeng did not want to cause trouble, trouble would still find him.
The two boys walked over to Ke Zhan's side and stopped. Ke Zhan casually took out a token from his pocket. Although the carvings on it were the same as Lingfeng's, the color was different. Compared to the one in Lingfeng's hand, Ke Zhan's token was clearly duller.
When the boys saw the token, they each added food to Ke Zhan's bowl. They continued this way until they reached Lingfeng. Lingfeng smiled kindly at the boys and took out the token given to him by the Vice Hall Master.
The boy paused for a moment, picked up a spoon to add food for Lingfeng, but then heard Ke Zhan shout, "You dog servant, are you blind? Can't you see that his token is a universal token and not a Demon Cultivation Hall token?"
The boy hurriedly retracted his spoon and turned to leave.
Lingfeng would not let them go that easily. He reached out and grabbed the wooden bucket, spilling its contents into his and Ke Yu's bowls.
Ke Zhan could no longer sit still; Lingfeng's actions were clearly a show of defiance towards him. Angrily, he stood up, hands braced on the dining table, and called out to the others, "Junior brothers, what should be done about those who ignore the rules of the Demon Cultivation Hall?"
The others looked at Lingfeng and then at Ke Yu but did not speak up. Only Ke Fei stood up and declared, "Throw this troublemaker out of the Demon Cultivation Hall!"
Ke Yu glared at the others with disappointment and then coldly laughed at Lingfeng, saying, "Junior brother, have you heard our rules in the Demon Cultivation Hall?"
Lingfeng smiled lightly and glanced around at everyone. Except for Ke Zhan and Ke Fei, there was no malice from the others. He clasped his fists towards them and said, "Fifth Element here. I am visiting Spirit Sect for the first time and apologize for disturbing everyone. However, I have never liked being under someone else's roof nor being threatened. I want everyone to know that Fifth Element has its own rules. If I cannot adapt to others' rules, then I hope others can adapt to mine!"
Lingfeng did not want to reveal his real name, so he quickly thought of a pseudonym.
After hearing Lingfeng's words, the others dared not look at him anymore; they pretended to eat but found no flavor in their food.
The entire Demon Cultivation Hall had seemingly turned into a cold war zone between Lingfeng and Ke Zhan, with Ke Fei standing by. The others remained silent, even hesitating to chew their food for fear of making a sound that might provoke a storm.
After a moment of silence, Brother Zhi suddenly let out a gurgling noise, apparently choking on his food due to not chewing it properly.
Unexpectedly, this sound broke the silence. Ke Zhan cleared his throat and turned to the boy standing nearby, saying, "Bring out the hall staff from the Demon Cultivation Hall!"
The boy hesitated for a moment but, fearing Ke Zhan, slowly walked over to the corner of the room and retrieved an iron rod that was standing there.
The iron rod was entirely black, and the boy struggled a bit to carry it.
Ke Zhan took the iron rod, deliberately weighing it in his hands as if showing off. Then he looked at Lingfeng with a smile that concealed malice and said, "The rules of the Demon Cultivation Hall have always been enforced by me. Five Element Junior Brother, I want to see how you establish your rules!"
Lingfeng let out an "oh," as if he had seen an old acquaintance. He stood up and took out the Connecting Rod, weighing it in his hands as well. However, he did not change its length and walked up to Ke Zhan, pointing at the iron rod and said, "This rod looks so ugly; it resembles your old acquaintance!"
Seeing Lingfeng's indifference to his threat, Ke Zhan's expression grew darker, and his grip on the iron rod tightened.
However, Lingfeng intended to provoke him further and remarked about the iron rod, "Ha! I know why you look so ugly; it's definitely because the person using you has a dark heart—nothing good about them. Over time, you've been influenced by them; as they say, 'a crow is as black as its surroundings'!" Lingfeng's insinuation was spot on.
Ke Zhan could no longer contain himself; he let out a roar and swung the iron rod toward Lingfeng's head.
