It was a massive beast, covered in black scales, with crimson eyes that emitted a fierce glow. Its fangs were bared, releasing a nauseating stench.
"What kind of monster is this?" Qin Yao thought in horror, realizing that the aura emanating from the beast was far stronger than that of the several Cultivators present.
"Roar!"
The beast let out a furious roar and charged towards the Cultivators.
"This is bad, it's a Guardian Beast!" The Brawny Monk's face changed dramatically as he exclaimed.
"Run!"
Seeing this, the Cultivators were instantly terrified and turned to flee.
However, the beast was incredibly fast and quickly caught up with several of the Cultivators, swiping its massive claws and sending them flying.
"Ah!"
Screams echoed as the bodies of several Cultivators crashed heavily to the ground, their fates unknown.
Qin Yao felt even more terrified at this sight.
She knew that with her current strength, she was no match for this beast.
Just as Qin Yao was in despair, a white figure suddenly descended from the sky, standing between her and the beast.
"Ye Wujiu?" Qin Yao gasped in surprise upon recognizing him.
Ye Wujiu had returned to his human form, dressed in snow-white robes. He was handsome, wielding a long sword that emitted a faint golden glow. His gaze was sharp, resembling a war god.
"Roar!"
The beast roared angrily upon seeing Ye Wujiu and lunged at him.
Ye Wujiu snorted coldly, swiftly dodging the beast's attack before thrusting his sword towards its eyes.
"Thud!"
The tip of the sword pierced the giant beast's eye, blood splattering everywhere.
"Roar!"
The giant beast let out a painful howl, its massive body shaking violently.
Ye Wujiu seized the opportunity to withdraw his longsword, his figure flashing again as he appeared on the beast's back. He then raised his sword high and struck down fiercely towards the beast's head.
"Thud!"
The longsword sliced through the beast's skull as easily as cutting tofu.
The giant beast crashed to the ground with a deafening sound.
Ye Wujiu slowly sheathed his sword, turned around, and looked at Qin Yao, a slight smile curling at the corners of his mouth, revealing a charming grin.
"Did you see that? This is my power."
Qin Yao gazed at the boy before her, radiating a fierce demonic aura, effortlessly dispatching the giant beast. A chill surged within her heart.
Was this still the boy she knew?
The smile on Ye Wujiu's face had not faded; he slowly walked towards Qin Yao. His voice was deep, yet it could not conceal the bloodthirst and madness that seeped through his words.
It dawned on Qin Yao that the boy who once cuddled and rolled around beside her, with eyes like a wet puppy, now had a gaze as sharp as a blade. "This is my power." As soon as Ye Wujiu finished speaking, his figure swayed slightly.
The Cub that once snuggled in her arms had now grown into a demon capable of shaking the heavens and earth.
Ye Wujiu's deep-set eyes seemed to burn with two flames of eerie blue, instilling in her an inexplicable fear.
Ye Wujiu had now become a king capable of intimidating the world, but the price of this power was his gradually uncontrollable demonic nature and an insatiable desire for slaughter that pierced her heart.
The demonic aura surrounding him reminded her of how he had struggled in pain in that cave, leaving her with mixed feelings.
"Ye Wujiu, you..." Qin Yao's voice trembled slightly, her eyes filled with disbelief.
Ye Wujiu heard Qin Yao's voice and reined in his sharpness, but he was no longer the weak cub he once was. The demonic blood within him had awakened, transforming him into a terrifying monster.
"Ye Wujiu, you..." Qin Yao's voice trembled slightly. She wanted to ask if he was okay, if he still remembered who he was, but instead she asked, "How are you?"
Ye Wujiu held her hand, his palm burning hot, yet his gaze was chillingly cold, as if he had completely changed. The blood color in his eyes had not fully faded, but there was a hint of barely perceptible tenderness: "Yao'er, don't be afraid." He asked softly, his tone carrying a subtle hint of expectation and tension.
"Yao'er," Ye Wujiu grasped her wrist tightly, the intense heat seeming to scorch her skin. "I won't hurt you."
He slowly walked towards Qin Yao, with each step the demonic aura around him dissipating a little. By the time he reached her, he had already regained the appearance of the handsome youth from before.
"Yao'er, I like you."
"You..." Qin Yao hesitated to speak.
Ye Wujiu whispered, "Yao'er, don't be afraid!"
He looked at Qin Yao, a wicked smile curling at the corners of his mouth: "I'm fine; it's just that the power of the demonic blood is too strong. I need time to control it."
Ye Wujiu seemed to see through her thoughts as he stepped closer to Qin Yao, the depths of his black eyes shimmering with complex emotions: "Yao Yao, I miss you. I think about you every moment."
This was truly the cub that called her "sister" with such fervor.
