In the conference room, an atmosphere of repression spread throughout. Everyone attending the meeting sat up straight in their seats, wearing serious expressions, as if they were attending a funeral.
This was not a serious academic study; it was merely an information sharing session. However, every expert and professor seemed to treat it as a grave matter, as if any misstep could lead to dire consequences.
In such an environment, it was better for me to remain low-key. After all, whether it was Archaeology or Tomb Raiding, I was a complete outsider who had merely tagged along with Xia Liyi.
Sitting in a corner, I thought it would be beneficial to listen to the opinions of these experts and professors who specialized in this field.
They were still unaware that someone had already entered the Tomb. After all, news about Blood Cultivation could not easily leak out.
"I believe we should speed up the excavation process immediately," an elderly professor stood up and said. "I have been researching Archaeology for decades, but I have never seen a Tomb with such structure and style. It completely defies all known Tomb styles from the past thousands of years. The experts below began to whisper among themselves. The standing professor continued, "Regardless, this discovery is undoubtedly significant. There are even those who believe this find could change history; it's not impossible."
Well, after saying so much about the importance of this tomb, he hadn't added anything else. If this continued, others might think I was just trying to fill space.
"I have another suggestion," another old professor stood up. Upon closer inspection, it was none other than Wu Zhixiang. "We can start excavating from both sides simultaneously to speed up the process. At the same time, we should open the main entrance of the Tomb first; if we can access some items there, we might gain insights into the Identity of the Tomb Owner and its age. From my experience with excavating Burial Tombs, this Tomb likely lacks any defenses against Tomb Raiding."
Tomb Raiding—a profession whose origins are unknown. However, before Tomb Raiders existed, many Tomb owners would never have imagined that people would later profit from digging up their graves. This meant either that when this tomb was created, there were no thoughts of preventing Tomb Raiders or that the owner knew no one would dare to rob it.
The experts believed it was the former; I knew the truth was the latter.
"I don't think there are no measures against Tomb Raiding," another person stood up. "It's just that these measures may have become ineffective over time or are hidden very deeply. Therefore, we must maintain a cautious attitude at all times and avoid any unexpected Trouble; otherwise, we will be guilty of history."
"The teacher is right, we must not be careless."
"Exactly, it's better to slow down than to make mistakes."
"Hmph!" Wu Zhixiang was splashed with water and angrily sat back down in his seat.
"Alright, alright, let's not discuss that for now. We have gathered everyone here to seek your guesses and opinions about the Tomb. Does anyone have any insights?" the Moderator Expert said. "If you do, please share openly. These things are not private; only by sharing can we make progress."
As soon as this was mentioned, no one spoke up. After all, the Tomb had just begun to be excavated, and only one Burial Tomb was visible.

"Captain, I'll speak frankly," Earthwalker appeared somewhat hesitant.
"Go ahead."
"You all know that I'm essentially a Tomb Raider, but despite our reputation in Tomb Raiding, we have very strict rules. There are two cardinal rules: one is that we cannot clear out a tomb completely; that is, we cannot steal everything from within. The second is that we cannot raid the same tomb twice; it's considered taboo. You can't eat all the food by yourself. And then there's the concept of dead tombs."
"Dead tombs?"
"These are tombs where death is certain or where people have died," Earthwalker explained. "Not all tombs contain only dead bodies."
"What does this mean?" Zhang Fan asked.
"Demon Tomb," I replied. "Some demons have a habit of being buried in Tombs, and these Tombs are much more peculiar than ordinary ones. Moreover, these Tombs are very sinister, and it is even possible that the descendants of the tomb owner live within the Tomb."
Demon Tombs are different from human Tombs; after all, demons have various methods, and it is uncertain if this Tomb was created by a Demon Cultivator. Earthwalkers know this because they fear the Demon God when raiding Tombs, so many things have been passed down through word of mouth. However, those who conduct research do not believe in such things and thus are fearless.
"If I were alone and saw this tomb, I would turn around and leave. This is also why this tomb has not been looted for so long," Earthwalker continued. "I estimate that if it hadn't been blown open, no one would know there was a tomb here."
Today's Tomb Raiders are mostly not from any particular school; as long as they can dig, they dare to raid Tombs. But this place is different; those rogue Tomb Raiders do not dare to enter here. After all, looking for a tomb in a cannon field? It's like looking for trouble.
"Captain, we can go down into this tomb, but remember one thing: do not touch anything at all, and do not bring anything out," Earthwalker advised. "Just rescue anyone trapped inside and leave; otherwise, we might not make it out."
"What about these Archaeologists?"
"Once the things inside the tomb are dug up and something jumps out to bite a few people, the government will likely blow this place up," Earthwalker replied. "It's not the first time. These experts don't believe in evil; they've dug into several Demon Tombs, and only after people died did they realize these tombs shouldn't be excavated—either they get blown up or quickly buried again."
"Understood," I said as I took out a dozen talismans from my pocket. "Keep these safe. If you encounter anything sinister, just drop a drop of blood on the talisman to activate it."
These were Exorcism Talismans specially drawn by me for Night Wanderers; even ordinary people can use them, but they require blood to activate.
"This red one is for starting a fire; don't use it recklessly." There was also a Fire Talisman, but since Earthwalker and the others couldn't control flames, this talisman would serve as a last resort, like a grenade for mutual destruction.
Earthwalker and Li Ping understood the seriousness of these items and silently accepted them. Zhang Fan could use magic; he had a few talismans I drew since such talismans for ordinary people are limited—better to save them.
However, the Gunsmith looked down on these items and continued polishing his pistol.
"Now I'll arrange our formation after we enter the tomb," I said as captain. "I'll lead at the front; Earthwalker, you follow me and keep an eye on the terrain ahead. Zhang Fan, you bring up the rear and watch our back. Li Ping, you'll be in the middle; maintain contact with Lin Zhao and the others. Lin Ming, your task is to protect Li Ping; I want you to stay close to him."
"Okay." Lin Ming nodded in agreement. It was clear he wasn't satisfied with my arrangement, but having been in Special Forces, he still adhered strictly to orders.
"Once we enter the tomb later, I'll tie us all together with a red rope; make sure not to fall behind or wander off."
Lin Zhao They might have gotten lost down there, so I take this very seriously. I also prepared to tie a bell on our wrists, so we can always know our location.

At the entrance of the Tomb, I counted—yes, six people, not one missing.
Just as I was about to push open the large door of the Tomb, I suddenly froze. Wait a minute, where did the six people come from? It's me, Zhang Fan, Earthwalker, Lin Ming, and Li Ping.
Damn it, is this really happening? We haven't even entered yet and strange things are already occurring.
