Mental Power is a very marvelous ability. Everyone possesses Divine Power, but very few can actually utilize it. I used to think that the ‘Sword Control Technique’ was a form of Taoist Arts based on magical power. I had tried to practice the ‘Sword Control Technique’, but every time I stepped onto the sword itself, I found that my magical power could not connect me with the sword.
Initially, I thought it was due to my improper use of magical power, but after mastering the ‘Sword Control Technique’, I finally understood. In fact, magical power can be seen as Earth Spirit Energy that we can use, while Divine Power is the key to flexibly controlling ourselves. The sword is merely a medium; it could be a gourd, a wooden stick, or even Nunchaku. What truly matters is the coordination between Divine Power and magical power.
To put it simply, flying with a sword and using a treasured sword can be likened to driving a car. I am the driver, the sword is the vehicle, magical power is the fuel, and Divine Power is the steering wheel.
However, while magical power can be cultivated, Divine Power cannot be trained; it may even be innate. Some people are born with powerful Divine Power, which makes their ability to learn and create exceptionally strong, while others with weaker Divine Power may appear clumsy and slow.
Yet, nothing in this world is absolute. Although Divine Power cannot be cultivated, it can be honed! As the saying goes, "A sharp sword comes from grinding," and "The fragrance of plum blossoms comes from bitter cold." Those who have experienced the passage of time and the vicissitudes of life will find their Divine Power growing stronger; thus, Divine Power can also be seen as another manifestation of strong will.
Until now, I had never imagined that my Divine Power could be so immense. If my magical power were a pond, then my Divine Power would be an ocean!
Although Divine Power is innate, its existence seems rather astonishing. However, even with such vast Divine Power, my situation is exactly like that of Wang Ni—having a mountain of gold but not spending any.
Previously, when manipulating the sword handle, I failed to balance my magical power and Divine Power, resulting in an imperfect landing where I fell hard onto the ground.
“Ouch! My back!” A weak voice clearly indicating a painful fall emerged from beneath me.
It was Pixiu, who had fared even worse than I did; while I fell like a dog eating shit, it was the one being eaten.
Since Pixiu had already shrunk to about two palms in size while in mid-air, it touched the warm ground before I did. Following that, Pixiu experienced something even more 'blissful' than just touching the warm earth—I landed on top of it.
I fell directly onto Pixiu. If I remember correctly, although I was fortunate not to have injured my internal organs from such a height, it was impossible not to get hurt falling from there. I felt like I had broken a rib in my chest and scraped my leg badly.
My chin landed squarely on Pixiu's waist; this explains why I fell from such a height without suffering a jaw fracture.
Although Pixiu is a divine beast, it has its vulnerable spots. As they say, "A copper head and iron brain with a tofu waist," similar to canine creatures where the waist tends to be their weak point—even if it's the divine beast Pixiu.
After groaning softly, Pixiu fainted again—not entirely because of me; it had already exhausted itself and desperately needed rest and recovery. Fortunately, it had swallowed all the food I gave it earlier, allowing it to recover slowly using its stored energy.
I tucked Pixiu into the sleeve of my Azure Robe. The sleeves of my Daoist Robe are quite spacious; as long as I don't swing them too forcefully, I can hide Pixiu within.
Now I understand why the Ritual Platform was covered up and that beneath it lies a terrifying entity known as Ba. Previously, due to the presence of the Tomb Brick, Qing Stone could no longer suppress Ba's existence. Although Pixiu used this to disguise the mist in the jungle, it was indeed true.
Everything exists in mutual generation and restraint; sunlight can indeed suppress some evil forces, but at the same time, certain things imbued with Evil Energy can counteract sunlight—like the Tomb Brick! According to Pixiu, those bricks were once genuinely used to cover graves and carry traces of Evil Energy. The terrain around these graves is genuinely complex; at night, this place becomes a breeding ground for corpses. However, during daylight hours, sunlight illuminates the entire area of the Ritual Platform. Thus at night, while the Tomb Brick absorbs Yin Qi, it simultaneously counters sunlight during the day—this cycle repeats endlessly.
Before coming here, the sorcerer who set up this Ritual Platform must have been quite capable, as anyone who can design such a Ritual Platform is certainly not an ordinary person. It's just that his skills were not applied correctly; if he could have transformed the Ritual Platform that suppresses Pixiu's wealth into one that weakens Ba, things wouldn't have become so complicated.
My immediate priority now is to stop those Archaeologist teams from continuing their research on the Ritual Platform. If they really summon Ba, it would be a disaster.
However, considering the temperament of that old professor Wu Zhixiang, it won't be an easy task and will require some thought.
What’s even more troublesome is Ba itself. If left unchecked, who knows when it might jump out to cause harm? Although this area is currently a desolate mountain, who can predict what the future holds? I still prefer to take advantage of its weakness and eliminate it before it becomes a threat! We must eradicate capitalism in its infancy!
Don’t think I’m cowardly; if I weren’t unable to defeat Ba, I would definitely choose to confront it head-on!
Ordinary Zombies fear fire, but Ba is an exception. Ba was originally created through alchemy, so it is not afraid of fire. Moreover, Ba has little recorded rest time, and I don’t know what could subdue it. Of course, Red Boy's True Fire should be able to incinerate Ba, but Red Boy is still at JZ Normal University and cannot come here.
We’ll take it step by step as challenges arise.
“Was that Yin Zheng'an just now?” Lin Zhao stared blankly into space with his mouth agape.
“It should be,” Zhang Fan surprisingly didn’t elaborate further.
“That thing fell down,” Earthwalker pointed at the descending object.
“Quick, let’s go check it out.”
In the distance, several Daoist figures appeared; upon closer inspection, they were Lin Zhao and his group. Since my ribs were already broken, I maintained my position after landing and dared not move. The reason I hadn’t fainted immediately was that I still had important matters to instruct Lin Zhao and the others about.
Lin Zhao finally arrived by my side with his team. Without hesitation, Zhang Fan tried to pull me up from the ground. He grabbed my hand and pulled hard, which immediately tugged at my broken ribs.
“Ugh~” I gasped in pain: “Let go of me, Zhang!”
Upon hearing this, Zhang Fan quickly released his grip, and I fell back to the ground with a thud.
“Ugh,” I groaned softly, nearly spitting out blood. Is this Zhang trying to get back at me?
“Yin Zheng'an, how are you?” Lin Zhao was a step behind and couldn’t stop Zhang Fan in time; he could only ask about my injuries from the side.
"I broke a rib," I gritted my teeth, desperately trying to stay conscious. "Don't let anyone into that pit, especially the Archaeologist team. The consequences would be unimaginable."
"Why?"
"I'll explain later. Just hurry up and get them out of here." After saying this, I completely lost consciousness.
To get out, both Pixiu and I paid a heavy price. Pixiu was not only exhausted but seemed to have injured his waist as well. As for me, part of it was due to my injuries; after all, breaking a rib is no small matter. The other part was because I had used a significant amount of Divine Power while controlling the sword handle earlier.
Previously, Divine Power was key to controlling myself. I had consumed a large amount of Divine Power all at once for the first time and couldn't adapt to that feeling. Given these two factors, it was already remarkable that I could hold on until Lin Zhao and the others arrived.
I just didn't know if Lin Zhao could persuade the Archaeologist team to leave after I fainted, and in this desolate wilderness, finding a place to heal should also be quite difficult.
Magic can heal me, but it can't realign my broken bones, so for serious injuries like this, it's better to go to a hospital. This is also why when Lin Miaomiao and Red Boy were injured during their playful scuffle, even though I had used magic to heal her wounds, I insisted she see a doctor.
Of course, with the presence of magic, as long as I can realign the broken bones, recovery will be faster. However, none of the team members are doctors; the main mission this time was merely exploration. Who would have expected such an incident to occur?
Then there was Brother, who had been poisoned by gas earlier. The poison they suffered from shouldn't have been released by Pixiu's mist, but I'm not quite sure how they got poisoned. I'll have to wait until they wake up to ask them directly.
Although I had expelled their poison, their bodies should still be very weak. If they don't recover properly, they could easily develop conditions like sepsis. So getting them to the hospital quickly is definitely the best course of action.
I just wonder if Lin Zhao understands what I mean.
