Even gods have their weaknesses. Take the famous Qi Da Sheng, Sun Wukong, for example. As a monkey, he couldn't even defeat a pig in water, specifically Zhu Bajie. 0

Red Boy had previously mentioned that his swimming skills weren't great either, but he was protected by True Fire. Ordinary water could not hinder True Fire; even if it was just a faint flame, it was not something the river before me could extinguish. Thus, wherever Red Boy went, the river would automatically part to make way for him. From the surface of the river, it looked as if a well had been dug above it, revealing the riverbed below. 0

The secrets of the riverbed were laid bare before me as Red Boy picked up something resembling a dry twig from the ground and threw it up from the riverbed. 0

The twig landed right at my feet. When I picked it up, I realized it was a human leg bone—likely one of the remains of the drowned ghosts. 0

"The drowned ghosts need substitutes to free themselves from the water, but now they can all be liberated," Old Black returned while carrying the Witch. 0

"How did you come back?" I asked. 0

"I forgot that the courier service isn't open at this hour." 0

"The substitutes summoned by these drowned ghosts must have been absorbed by the Witch, so they cannot leave nor maintain their corporeal forms in the water. They were destined to be scattered souls. However, the person who escaped earlier used an Evil Technique to pin their souls to the riverbed, which is why the resentment of those drowned ghosts has begun to transform into Blood Qi." Red Boy leaped up from the riverbed and casually tossed me a sword made of copper coins. "This should be what that person used to subdue the drowned ghosts." 0

"The Copper Coin Sword?" I exclaimed. Only people from Maoshan would use a Copper Coin Sword as a magical tool. Could it be that the figure who escaped is related to those who attacked JZ Normal University and Maoshan? 0

Things were getting more complicated. This Witch seemed to have been deliberately kept here by the person who escaped to create more drowned ghosts. However, I had no idea what they intended to do with them. One thing was certain: it wouldn't be anything good. 0

"Um," a timid voice came from behind me; it was Senior Liu Wan. 0

"What’s wrong?" I cared about Liu Wan because not only were we from the same school, but I also admired her unwillingness to harm others even in death. If she were to fulfill the wishes of that escaping person and become a Wraith seeking substitutes, who knows when this cycle of seeking substitutes would end? 0

"Ah." Red Boy looked at Liu Wan and suddenly remarked, "You actually have a Buddha Seal on you!" 0

Red Boy had previously focused all his attention on the river surface and hadn't truly observed Liu Wan until now; this was his first time looking at her closely. Among us, only Red Boy studied Buddhism, so he was able to see Liu Wan's difference at a glance. It should also be due to the presence of the Buddha Seal that Liu Wan had not developed any resentment. But why did she have a Buddha Seal? 0

Red Boy extended a finger and silently recited the six-character mantra of Buddhism: "Om Mani Padme Hum." In an instant, a light of Buddha slowly wrapped around Red Boy's finger. He gently pointed his finger at Liu Wan's forehead, and as soon as the Buddha light left Red Boy's finger, it expanded significantly and wrapped around Liu Wan like a ribbon before slowly condensing at a spot just above her nape. 0

The Buddha light began to gather at the back of Sister Liu Wan's neck, slowly forming the shape of a rootless lotus flower. 0

"Surprisingly, it's still the Ksitigarbha's Buddha Seal," Red Boy exclaimed in amazement. "I've never heard of Ksitigarbha granting anyone a Buddha Seal." 0

The so-called Buddha Seal is a mark left by the Buddha on individuals who have a connection with Buddhism or are virtuous people before they enter reincarnation. Just as people have birthmarks, the red ones are Buddha Seals, while the black ones are Yama's marks. The Yama's mark carries various meanings, but the Buddha Seal has only one meaning: that this person is protected by the Buddha. 0

However, there are many Buddhas, and not every Buddha can freely leave a Buddha Seal. In fact, those who can leave a Buddha Seal are not necessarily all Buddhas. For example, Guanyin Bodhisattva; although Guanyin is merely a bodhisattva, she still possesses the ability to leave a Buddha Seal due to her profound compassion and influence in the human realm, which grants her this privilege. 0

Another example is Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. 0

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is nominally also a bodhisattva, but he is not incapable of becoming a Buddha. Instead, he has vowed, "I will not become a Buddha until hell is empty; I will save all sentient beings." Because of this vow, he has not yet attained Buddhahood. Consequently, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, who was originally seen as the best successor to Sakyamuni Buddha, went to hell to start anew and lost the opportunity to inherit the title of Tathagata. 0

Thus, Ksitigarbha can indeed leave a Buddha Seal, but he rarely does so. One reason is that he must guard all of hell and does not have the leisure that other Buddhas do. The second reason is that he faces much greater evils deep within hell, making it rare for him to find someone worthy of receiving a Buddha Seal. 0

However, if anyone currently has a birthmark resembling a rootless lotus flower, it would be the Buddha Seal left by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. 0

"Strange, I haven't heard of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva recently granting anyone a Buddha Seal," Black Wuchang pondered while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. 0

After transforming into a lotus flower, the Buddha light began to dim but suddenly detached from Sister Liu Wan's neck. Then the light shone brightly, enveloping me along with Red Boy and Black Wuchang. 0

In an instant, we seemed to be teleported to an empty commercial building. However, we knew it was an illusion because we could still see the grass by the riverbank beneath our feet. 0

Without needing to move, the scene began to shift naturally. In a large office area, only one lamp remained lit, illuminating a single figure still working underneath it. 0

The delicate figure under the lamp stretched lazily in her chair before standing up and walking toward the elevator while manipulating her phone. 0

In a flash of light, we found ourselves at the bottom of the building and finally recognized that the figure was Sister Liu Wan. She seemed to be waiting for a bus under a bus stop sign. After a short while, a car arrived; it appeared to be a private vehicle for hire. Sister Liu Wan got into the car, which then headed toward JZ Normal University. 0

We could see that shortly after getting into the car, Sister Liu Wan fell asleep. However, strange changes began to occur with the vehicle. The driver’s face became obscured by a cloud of black mist. The car started driving against traffic; although there weren't many cars on the road late at night, some were present yet no one noticed this vehicle going against the flow. Everything else proceeded in an orderly manner except for this car. 0

As Sister Liu Wan's vehicle approached an oncoming large truck carrying containers, both drivers seemed oblivious to each other and continued driving. Just as it appeared that their vehicles would collide, Sister Liu Wan's car passed through the large truck as if it had no physical form. 0

Before long, the car drove near JZ Normal University and then entered the trees beside River without regard for them. At that moment Sister Liu Wan got out of the car; as she stepped out, the vehicle vanished from sight. 0

At first, Liu Wan was quite panicked, but then she began to run wildly in place within the forest. Suddenly, her steps changed, and she headed straight towards the River. I noticed that Liu Wan's eyes had turned white, a sign that she was already under mental control. 0

As soon as Liu Wan's feet touched the water, a shadow emerged from the riverbed and surfaced in the middle of the River, opening its wide mouth as if waiting for Liu Wan to walk into the trap. 0

Sure enough, she took step after step toward the center of the river. The water flow of this River was not swift, but it was deep, and soon Liu Wan was submerged. 0

A Witch flicked its tail and swam to Liu Wan's side, biting her ankle and dragging her underwater. 0

Just as Liu Wan was about to be completely engulfed by the river water, a golden light flew in from afar and landed on her neck, forming a rootless and stemless lotus flower. 0

The scene flashed again, and we found ourselves at the bottom of the river. Liu Wan's soul began to slowly separate from her body, but due to the presence of the Buddha Seal on her neck, there was no resentment that could enter her body. However, because of the surrounding river water, Liu Wan could not maintain clarity. 0

The person who had previously disguised himself as a driver appeared beside her. This time his face was no longer shrouded in black mist, but unexpectedly he had long hair, making it impossible to see his face. 0

He took out an envelope and started to write something on it. I only saw one character—Yin. Suddenly, the Buddha Seal on Liu Wan's neck behind him glowed briefly before dimming again. At that moment, Liu Wan seemed to regain clarity and reached out to lift the man's head. She indeed succeeded and saw his face. However, we were positioned behind him and still could not see. 0

The man quickly leaped out of the water but did not notice the few strands of hair in Liu Wan's hand. She hurriedly opened the envelope that he had not finished writing in; surprisingly, there were two blank sheets inside. Liu Wan's soul began to become unstable, splitting off a very faint shadow while a more solid version dove back into her original body. Her shadow raised a finger and scratched a few lines on the paper. Just then, the man who had left earlier returned. Liu Wan quickly stuffed the paper and a few strands of hair back into the envelope. 0

I finally understood the source of that letter; Liu Wan's earlier behavior must have been due to the effect of the Buddha Seal. It was Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva helping us. 0
