Uncle Xing chased after the shadow, leaving only me and Wang Ni to face a dozen Invaders. I had no idea if the Infected carried any viruses, but I wasn't worried in my Azure Robe. However, Wang Ni had no protection and was still wearing her workout clothes from this morning.
I wanted to give the Peach Wood Sword to Wang Ni, but I was afraid that her strength would break the wooden sword with just one hit. I couldn't bear to see her destroy it before we even managed to take down an Invader.
"How about you step back a bit?" I suggested to Wang Ni. "These things are not like those students; their toxicity is much greater."
"No need," Wang Ni replied as she found a faucet on the Greenway next to the teaching building, used for watering flowers and trees. A long iron pipe was sticking out of the ground. Wang Ni grabbed the faucet and pulled hard, yanking the iron pipe out. She weighed it in her hands and nodded in satisfaction.
I was almost stunned by her strength, but then I felt a bit uncomfortable seeing her pose.
"By the way, is it okay if we kill those few?" Wang Ni said, swinging the iron pipe like a tough girl and chuckling. "I've been wanting to pull this pipe out for a long time; it’s been annoying me."
"Feel free, just don't hit me," I quickly ducked to the side, covering my head.
Goodness, in Wang Ni's hands, that pipe was like a baseball bat; hitting someone on the head with it would be no different than smashing a ripe watermelon.
"Alright!" Wang Ni responded without looking at me, her eyes fixed on the Invaders jumping down from above.
The first Invader descended quickly, probably at a speed of about five miles per hour. Wang Ni aimed for its head and swung the iron pipe like a baseball bat.
The struck Invader shot back up at least eight miles per hour before finally landing after a moment. Was that what they called a home run?
I thought it might be best for me to find a cool place to rest.
I had dealt with Invaders before; initially, I couldn't cut through them at all. But once I dispersed their Corpse Poison completely, the rest became quite simple. Back then, I had also cleared an Invader's Corpse Poison and then jumped off the second floor while holding it, causing it to become incapacitated upon landing.
Glancing at Wang Ni, I figured she didn't need my concern; let her have some fun for a while. She seemed to be enjoying herself immensely right now.
As I raised my lightsaber, I charged at a falling Invader.
It descended from above while I leaped high from my spot. When we met in mid-air, I kicked it down to the second floor of the teaching building. The Invader crashed through a classroom window and fell inside.
Returning to my original position, I saw Wang Ni happily playing baseball. Shaking my head, I glanced at the Invader I had kicked to the second floor. Lucky you, encountering me.
The knocked-out Invader was not dead; it got up and lunged at Wang Ni again, only to be sent flying once more, repeating the cycle. Wang Ni had plenty of magical energy, and this consumption didn’t even deplete her recovery speed.
Reluctantly jumping to the second floor, I found that the Invader I had kicked there was stuck in a desk and unable to move. Hey, what great luck!
Carrying two swords, I approached. Just as I raised my lightsaber to strike, the Infected struggled and broke free from the desk.
The lightsaber still came down, releasing a wisp of black energy. The Invader was unaffected and slapped me hard.
I blocked the Invader's slap with my wooden sword while my other hand swiftly slashed with the lightsaber across the Invader's abdomen several times, releasing a lot of black energy.
After all, with just one hand, I couldn’t hold back the Invader’s strength for long. So, I simply lifted my foot and kicked it away.
Taking advantage of the moment, I pulled out several Exorcism Talismans. Although the lightsaber was quick in exorcising evil spirits, having a few more talismans would speed up the process. Honestly, I was quite worried about what was happening downstairs—not because of Wang Ni but because of those Invaders; I was concerned for them.
Regardless of how they lived before, it was pitiful enough that they were being used after death. We would have to burn their bodies later. If Wang Ni played around with them and they ended up missing an arm or a leg when we burned them, I wouldn’t be able to bear it.
With these thoughts in mind, I needed to resolve the situation with this one quickly.
The wooden sword floated in mid-air as I waved my Daoist Robe. The wooden sword struck the Invader hard in the chest. The Invader staggered back a few steps and sat down at the bottom of the classroom window.
This was a tiered classroom with long desks. The Invader sat beneath the window as I pushed a desk against it to pin it down so it couldn’t stand up. Then, standing on top of the desk, I aimed my sword at the Invader and prepared to stab downwards.
Several Exorcism talismans were also attached to the wooden sword, and both swords began to exorcise simultaneously.
I had to admit, there was quite a lot of Corpse Poison on this Invader. I used seven or eight Exorcism talismans and struck with the sword dozens of times, yet I still couldn't completely dispel its Corpse Poison.
"Yin Zheng'an, catch!" Wang Ni shouted from downstairs.
Catch what?
Before I could react, the window shattered with a 'crack,' and an Invader was sent flying up by Wang Ni's strike from below.
What the hell is going on?
It wasn't just one; over a dozen Infected were being 'delivered' up by Wang Ni.
She was precise, sending them all through the first broken window without shattering the glass of the second window.
I immediately lost my composure and rushed out of the classroom.
"Sister Ni, what are you doing?" I yelled down the stairs.
Wang Ni shrugged at me, saying, "I had no choice; my weapon broke."
Looking again, I felt a chill run down my spine—Wang Ni's iron pipe had snapped, leaving only a short piece near the faucet that she was still holding.
This is what you call strength creating miracles.
Behind me, a wave of killing intent emerged. Turning around, I saw that those Invaders who had been thrown in through the window were already getting back on their feet.
"What the hell"
In this situation, it's time to use a strategy. You ask me which strategy to use? I tell you, the best option now is to retreat!
With one hand on the railing, I performed a backflip and fell down.
Behind me, the Invaders jumped down as well.
"Three Purities Edict, Daoist Law of Correct Origin." I formed a Spell Seal and summoned the Peach Wood Sword, slashing it towards the Invaders.
The Peach Wood Sword struck three times in the air, heading straight for them.
A glance revealed that I was not far from the flowerbed where I had originally set up the formation to trap the Infected. Right, my Octagonal Taiji is still there.
Activating Wind Walk, I felt a gust beneath my feet and instantly appeared on the statue in the flowerbed. Fortunately, the Octagonal Taiji was still there. I grabbed it and infused it with my spiritual power.
Previously, when I used golden spiritual power, the Octagonal Taiji could only emit golden light for striking enemies besides Exorcism. But now that my spiritual power has transformed into Azure power, at the moment of infusion, I seemed to understand other uses of the Octagonal Taiji.
Carefully, I began to infuse my power into the Taiji Diagram on the Octagonal Taiji. The Taiji Diagram suddenly came alive like two Yin Yang Fish.
The Yin Yang Fish gradually grew larger, slowly enveloping each of the Invaders who were jumping down from above. By the way, during my previous battle with the Bat Demon, it seemed that Lu Zu also used a similar Spell; its purpose was likely to bind. It was a group control technique, similar to what Wang Ni used before but with greater binding strength. Fortunately, I didn’t need to hold back against my current opponents.
I reached out into the void and grabbed; instantly, the Yin Yang Fish shrank and transformed into two long ropes—one black and one white—that tightly bound each of the Invaders.
However, there was one person also trapped—Wang Ni was struggling hard to break free, her face turning red and looking quite adorable.
"Sister Ni, hang in there," I said as I walked over and gently patted Wang Ni's shoulder. "Just a moment."
This sounded like something a shady uncle would say to lure a girl.
Wang Ni shot me a fierce glare and obediently stopped struggling.
I placed several Exorcism Talismans on each of the bound Invaders and performed a Spell Seal:
"Natural Earth Dissipation of Filth Cavernous Mystique Huanglang Taiyuan Eight Directions Divine Spirits make me naturally Spiritual Treasure Talisman Command Universal Announcement Nine Ganluodana Cave Gang Tai Xuan Exorcise Evil Delivering Salvation to Thousands Zhongshan Divine Incantation Primordial Jade Text recite once but illness prolongs life according to Five Mountains Eight Seas Knowledge Demon King Binding guard my pavilion Evil Energy Dissipates Dao Qi Lasts Forever Urgent Command."
With a flick of my fingers, I drew an Exorcism Talisman entirely with my magical power, but I added a few extra strokes to this talisman.
This was a good thing; it showed that my understanding of the Exorcism Talisman had deepened, bringing me one step closer to creating my own exclusive talisman.
"Pardon!" After finishing the Exorcism Talisman, I sharply drew my finger downwards, and the magical power condensed into an Exorcism that instantly transformed into countless streams of light, each flowing into the Exorcism Talismans I had placed on the Invaders.
Each Exorcism Talisman became a leak point for Corpse Qi, with black gas rising like thick smoke.
"Three Purities Edict, Daoist Law of Correct Origin." Another voice recited a spell; who else here could use Taoist Arts besides me?
Turning around, I saw that Wang Ni had somehow broken free from her restraints and was now holding a Fire Talisman, seriously performing a Spell to activate it.
To my surprise, she actually succeeded. The Fire Talisman flashed and ignited. Just then, I suddenly realized something: "No!"
Before I could finish the word, Wang Ni had already thrown the Fire Talisman high into the air.
The Fire Talisman ignited upon encountering Corpse Poison, and soon above us, the black gas erupted into a mushroom cloud.
"Oh dear," I said, nearly in tears. "This is going to cause trouble."
Why do I have to do this? Because activating the Fire Talisman is a simple task, but the difficulty lies in controlling the flames that the Fire Talisman ignites.
You must control it so that even things that cannot catch fire do not ignite when they come into contact with the flames. True Talisman Magic practitioners would dare to use the Fire Talisman even in places with gas leaks, and they can prevent the gas from igniting as well.
But can Wang Ni control the flames?
Can you believe she can? Isn't that just nonsense?
Wang Ni was jumping around like a girl, waving at me as if to show off her abilities.
I forced a smile and waved back at her, only to see that the nearby teaching building was already on fire.
Thick smoke billowed, and soon several classrooms were engulfed in flames.
Although the Fire Talisman is just an ordinary one, this fire is not like the one from a household gas stove; it burns extremely quickly and is not easily extinguished.
Now I waved my hand even harder because I knew I wouldn't be seeing Wang Ni for a while. If you don't believe me, check Baidu; how many years do you get for arson? Right, it has to be intentional arson.
Sister, great strength can create miracles, but isn't your strength a bit too much?
