When I woke up again, I was back at JZ Normal University. At this point, Wenquxing had basically rescued all the students. So now, there were two problems in front of me.
One was that the Invaders had not been dealt with; the other was how to explain this situation.
Not just one student had seen the flying Red Boy, and I had also used Taoist Arts in front of a large crowd. More seriously, it seemed that the people from the Execution Office had already been exposed.
However, these were issues that Wenquxing would have to worry about; they didn't concern me much.
Or at least, that's what I thought!
What was most important for me now was to prove whether what just happened was a dream or if it really occurred. This was a significant matter regarding my future!
I sat cross-legged, calming my mind and focusing on my Dantian.
The three points within my Dantian remained unchanged. I began to breathe and channel my energy into the Dantian. As the points absorbed the energy, they slightly glowed brighter.
I focused my energy in the Dantian, connecting the three points, and indeed a flame of Azure ignited in the center.
Haha! It was effective! It seems that what just happened was not a dream after all.
I raised my hand and drew an Exorcism symbol. Unlike before when it shone with golden light, this time the symbol I drew matched my energy and turned a clear blue. However, the previous golden light looked better; this color resembled Ghost Fire (this symbol drawn with energy indicates good control over it and has nothing to do with Talisman Magic; Talisman Magic's drawn symbols cannot use any objects and can be drawn directly with a hand gesture).
Standing up, Red Boy immediately came over when he saw me rise.
"Ango, are you back?" Red Boy said with a grin.
"Not bad," I rubbed my head, feeling quite cheerful. "How is it? Has everything been resolved?"
"Everything's fine now; we've gathered all the Infected and started exorcising them."
"That's good. Do you need more hands?"
"I don't know." Red Boy pulled out a bag of chips from somewhere and started munching.
"I'll go take a look." With a sudden surge of magic, I was eager to test the new magical effect.
With a step of Wind Walk, I jumped up from the ground, soaring into the sky.
My Daoist Robe billowed in the wind as I floated in mid-air, feeling somewhat dazed. Red Boy stuffed a handful of chips into his mouth and looked up at me, puzzled. What was going on?
Right, I hadn't experimented with Wind Walk in the Three Stars Cave. Could it be that my Wind Walking Technique had finally broken through?
Before I landed, my mind was still quite clear, but things got tricky afterward.
Heh, would I really land like this?
Yes, indeed, I did land just like that.
There was no time to activate Wind Walk or to react.
As they say, it's easy to invite death but hard to stop oneself from doing so, especially when no one is there to intervene.
At the moment of landing, I made what should have been the wisest choice—Protect Your Face! For that brief instant, I regretted not practicing my resilience with my master; otherwise, with just the thickness of my skin, I could have landed safely.
Red Boy set down his chips and used Fire Spear to dig me out of the ground as if he were unearthing potatoes.
"Ango, are you trying to get yourself killed?"
"Well, I'm not dead yet." I shook off the dirt from my head. "Besides, if I had really gone down like that, it would have saved you the trouble of burying me."
Indeed, Red Boy had dug over a meter deep to get me out. It seemed that not only had my Wind Walking Technique improved, but my bones also seemed to have undergone some changes. If it had been before, I would have likely turned into a mushy mess upon impact—good enough to be mixed with scallions for dumplings.
Red Boy stayed on the playground, observing the situation, which had basically stabilized. However, there were still a large number of students that needed careful exorcism.
This was just the opportunity I needed to contribute to my country!
Inside the teaching building, people were still lying around. Although they had started transferring to nearby hospitals, the pace was limited, so many were still waiting for transfer.
Fortunately, Night Wanderer was in charge of drawing talismans, so my slumber did not affect anything.
Wang Ni was on the first floor, resting while maintaining order. I almost forgot that Wang Ni was also a teacher; her authority was not to be underestimated.
I nodded at Wang Ni, acknowledging her. She looked extremely exhausted, so I decided not to disturb her rest.
There were still Infected above the third floor, but that was all; everything else had been controlled, allowing Wang Ni and the others some time to rest.
Going up to the third floor, there was only one classroom where exorcism was being performed on the Infected. Night Wanderer sat in the middle of the classroom and waved his hand, causing a Talisman to appear suspended in mid-air.
The magic of Night Wanderer was golden; the talisman shimmered brightly as he waved his Daoist Robe, sending it floating towards the forehead of the Infected standing opposite him.
As soon as the Golden Rune made contact with the Infected, a cloud of black mist immediately erupted. Night Wanderer took out a gourd and captured the black mist inside.
"Are you not going to burn the black mist?" I asked as I walked through the door.
"No time. We'll burn it all together later; it's more convenient," Night Wanderer shouted without looking up. "Next!"
A uniformed instructor brought in an Infected, bound and restrained.
Do we really need to line up for this?
"How's it going upstairs?" I asked.
"There’s no one else who can draw talismans," said Night Wanderer.
That means no one else is up here, I thought to myself, feeling pleased. Perfect, I can finally show my skills.
"Then I'll go," I said, never having been this eager before.
"Feel free." As he spoke, Night Wanderer drove away another Infected.
I jumped to the top floor; there was no one there, so I had to go down from the stage.
There were a total of six floors, and there were hardly any people on the sixth floor; they must have all gone downstairs. Wind Walk activated as I quietly approached an Infected and pulled out an exorcism talisman I had drawn earlier. Infusing my mana into the Exorcism Talisman, I quickly embraced the nearest Infected and pressed the Exorcism onto its forehead.
Azure Light flashed, shaking off the black mist before it could even escape the Infected's throat, dissipating like ice melting in the sun.
What? Did I completely exorcise this evil? The talisman was drawn by me, so it must be fine; that only leaves the issue of mana. Is this Azure Mana really that powerful? Looks like I've struck gold!
I took out another Exorcism talisman. One might be a fluke, but trying a few more can't hurt.
One by one, as each talisman was pressed onto the Infected's forehead, the black mist melted away within their bodies like ice in the sun.
However, I shouldn't get too cocky. In my excitement, I moved my hands a bit too much and startled the other Infected.
Crap, trouble!
The Infected gathered around me like they were drawn by a magnet. I quickly reached into my Seed Bag for my Peach Wood Sword.
But it seemed I had left the Peach Wood Sword on the playground and hadn’t brought it with me.
In my panic, my hand touched something hard— the hilt of a sword.
The hilt of the sword my master gave me was still in my pocket. I smiled wryly as I held it in my hand. What use is it to me now?
An Infected rushed at me from the side, and I quickly wrapped my hand with magic, preparing to fight back.
My hand did not strike the Infected; instead, the magic was directly infused into the hilt, forming a beam of light that slashed down at the approaching Infected.
Damn it, now it’s useful. Isn’t this just bad luck for me? I had seen the power of this light sword before; if it struck down like this, wouldn’t that person be split in two? Splitting someone in half is just a North character, right?
However, the sword light appeared illusory, as if it hadn’t actually struck the person but rather passed through the Infected's body.
A stream of black mist was pulled out from the Infected's body by the light sword. The sword glowed slightly brighter, and the black mist emitted a hissing sound before disappearing without a trace.
What?
This light sword has such an effect?
The light of the sword was formed from my magic, which means that I couldn’t activate the hilt before because the golden magic didn’t match? Probably.
So now all I need to do is use this light sword to slash at the Infected to drive away their evil?
I raised the light sword and gently swiped at the Infected rushing towards me.
A stream of black mist was drawn out from within the Infected and severed; it twisted slightly in the air before vanishing into thin air.
