After lunch, Black Wolf suggested giving Zhang Yang a surprise and having some fun at the Red Ribbon Club that evening.
The Red Ribbon Club was owned by Black Ghost, and Black Wolf was the boss of the venue. "Forget it. If someone sees you and me together at the Red Ribbon Club, it won't be good for Black Ghost to find out," Zhang Yang said. "Wait until you become the boss, then invite me to have some fun."
"Brother, if I really become the boss and have food to eat, I won't let you go hungry!" Black Wolf vowed. After considering Zhang Yang's words, he added, "Then you relax by yourself. Once we succeed, we can have a good time."
Running Black Ghost was something Zhang Yang was eager to do. That night, he wasn't in the mood for evening study, so he went to a bar in the South District called Midnight Bar.
Zhang Yang entered at eight o'clock, so he naturally missed the midnight rhythm; there weren't many people in the bar yet. The layout of Midnight Bar was somewhat similar to Red Velvet Club, but it focused more on the bar area with a small dance floor. Zhang Yang ordered a bottle of beer and sat at the bar, listening to music and feeling much more comfortable.
As an energetic song played, someone jumped up in the dance floor. A girl caught Zhang Yang's attention; she had a delicate face with her hair tied back in a ponytail, revealing her smooth forehead. Wearing a tight black outfit made her skin look even whiter. The girl was not very tall but had a great figure, curvy and graceful.
As the music played, the girl danced with a captivating posture, occasionally making seductive moves that were indeed quite enticing.
Two young men sitting next to Zhang Yang clearly noticed the girl as well; one whistled and they both walked into the dance floor.
The girl found herself surrounded by the two men. "Little Sister, all alone?" asked the guy with a shiny silver earring while swaying in front of her with a smile.
The girl ignored them and tried to leave their circle, but the other Long-Haired Man gave her no chance and pushed her toward Earring Guy. At that moment, the girl took out her phone to call for help but was grabbed by Earring Guy who held her wrist tightly. "It's too noisy here; come on, play with us."
With her right hand caught, the girl suddenly struck out with her left hand and slapped Earring Guy across the face.
"Alpaca, how dare you!" shouted Long-Haired Man as he grabbed her other hand while both he and Earring Guy laughed maliciously. Earring Guy then pinched her chin. At this point, the girl showed no fear and lifted her leg to kick Earring Guy; however, he was already prepared and caught her foot with his other hand.
"Your calves are so slim, hahahaha," Earring Guy laughed wildly as the girl could only keep one foot on the ground with no way out. Suddenly she shouted loudly, "Help! Grab these perverts!"
Her voice was high enough to carry over the music. Just then, a man in a black suit hurried over and whispered in Earring Guy's ear, "Brother X, don't cause trouble in here; it's hard for us brothers."
"Get lost! Do you think I can make things difficult for your boss? Come on, take her out," Earring Guy called to Long-Haired Man as they half-dragged her toward the back door of Midnight Bar.
Zhang Yang had just finished a bottle of beer. After hesitating for a moment, he decided to follow them outside.
The back door of Midnight Bar led to a secluded alley. On one side were the back doors of the bar and a row of shops, while the other side was a tall wall belonging to a unit. The shops were closed at night, and since it was a dead-end alley, there were usually no people around at night, except for the occasional drunken person stumbling into a corner to vomit.
Two men pulled the girl next to an air conditioning unit.
"Brother X, should we deal with her here?" the Long-Haired Man asked Earring Guy. "Isn't it a bit too cold?"
"Cold my ass, it's already spring! This is called excitement!" Brother X cursed. "You hold her down while I sing a little tune."
"Help me..." The girl had just cried out when Brother X slapped her across the face. Immediately, the Long-Haired Man pulled out a butterfly knife and pressed it against the girl's temple. "If you scream again, I'll gouge your eyes out!"
The girl seemed frightened. The Long-Haired Man fumbled around for a moment before reaching to unbuckle her belt.
"Brother X has such refined tastes!"
Suddenly, a figure flashed out. Long legs clad in jeans, an army green jacket, and long hair flowing with each step gave off an air of grace. As he approached, his pale face broke into a smile. It was Zhang Yang, who had followed them.
"Where did this little brat come from?" Brother X turned his head. Then, the Long-Haired Man grabbed the girl's arm with one hand and brandished the knife with the other, shouting, "You don't know when to quit!"
"It seems you're cursing at me," Zhang Yang replied, his smile fading. "In this cold weather, you should be careful not to freeze your tongue."
"This guy doesn't mean well," Brother X thought to himself. He waved his hand to signal the Long-Haired Man not to act rashly and took out a cigarette to light it. "I'm Lin Zhenxiong. What's your name?"
Lin Zhenxiong had some reputation in South District; he was associated with a boss named Wang Donghai. After the previous strongest boss in South District was killed, the territory quickly fell into chaos and was divided among various factions. The strongest among them were Wang Donghai and another boss known as Sha He Shang. Midnight Bar was now under Wang Donghai's control, and while Lin Zhenxiong was affiliated with him, he wasn't responsible for managing Midnight Bar's affairs, so he hadn't caused trouble there.
In South District, Lin Zhenxiong's name still carried some weight. Not knowing Zhang Yang's background, he introduced himself first.
"Oh, it really is Brother X. I thought I misheard just now. I'm just a nobody, but seeing you bully such a beautiful girl makes me a bit unhappy," Zhang Yang said.
"Haha, all brothers under heaven, where are you from, little brother?" Lin Zhenxiong asked, suppressing his anger since Zhang Yang did not reveal his identity. At that moment, a burly man walked out from the back door of the bar. Seeing the girl who was captured, he couldn't help but frown slightly but still walked past Zhang Yang and approached Lin Zhenxiong, asking, "Brother X, everything alright?"
"Everything's fine. Let's hear what this little brother has to say," Lin Zhenxiong replied.
"Nothing much to say, just want you to scram," Zhang Yang said as he pulled out a cigarette and lit it.
"What if we don't scram?" Lin Zhenxiong threw the cigarette on the ground.
"Then I'll make sure you can't even roll away," Zhang Yang said calmly. He wasn't someone who usually meddled in others' affairs, but after integrating with Strange Soul, he had become much more interested in intervening. Watching a few thugs bully a girl made him particularly annoyed; this was already the greatest restraint he could muster.
"Alpaca!" The burly man charged forward and threw a hook punch aimed at Zhang Yang's temple. Although his body was robust, his movements were quick and agile, and his techniques were straightforward and effective. Lin Zhenxiong stood still. He knew that the burly man Azheng was a former Special Forces member with top-notch fighting skills who had been expelled for misconduct; no one in South District could match him.
Azheng was very confident in his abilities. In Haizhou, the only person he wanted to compete with was the Black Wolf from West District, but he had never had the chance. Now, how could he take this skinny kid seriously?
Zhang Yang clearly did not expect Azheng to be so skilled. As the punch came at him, he quickly changed his footwork, sidestepped, and avoided the blow. Unexpectedly, Azheng changed his move swiftly; as soon as his right fist missed its target, his left elbow struck out directly towards Zhang Yang's chest.
