The crowd automatically parted to make way as Lu Ziang walked onto the stage with a blank expression, approaching Su Xingchen's side. His gaze coldly swept over Li Li, his tone calm yet carrying a hint of authority.
"Li Li, I know you have never liked Su Xingchen, but I didn't expect you to resort to such methods to frame her."
He paused before continuing, "You keep claiming that Su Xingchen plagiarized your script, but in reality, your so-called script is merely an adaptation of Su Xingchen's comic."
Lu Ziang took out his phone from his pocket, opened a document, and handed it to Li Li. "Take a look for yourself. This is your so-called 'original script.' How similar is it to Su Xingchen's comic?"
Li Li trembled as she took the phone, her eyes falling on the screen, her face instantly turning even paler.
The document clearly displayed the electronic version of her "original script," alongside excerpts taken directly from Su Xingchen's comic. The two were nearly identical, even down to the punctuation.
With irrefutable evidence before her, Li Li could no longer argue. She slumped her shoulders in defeat, tears streaming down her face as she choked out, "I'm sorry... I was wrong..."
"I... I was just too jealous of Su Xingchen..." Li Li looked up with tear-filled eyes at Su Xingchen. "Her comics are so outstanding, while my... my work goes unnoticed..."
"So you thought of such despicable means to slander her and elevate yourself?" Zhao Zixuan, who had remained silent until now, stepped forward and reprimanded her sternly.
"Zixuan..." Li Li's tears flowed even more fiercely.
"Do you realize that by doing this, you not only hurt Su Xingchen but also ruined your own future?" Zhao Zixuan said with deep sorrow.
Li Li collapsed onto the ground, unable to speak through her sobs.
The onlookers began to criticize Li Li's actions; those who had once sympathized with her were now thoroughly disappointed.
"How could you do this? It's so disappointing!"
"Exactly! We misjudged you!"
Faced with the crowd's accusations, Li Li felt overwhelming shame and ultimately lowered her head in defeat, admitting her mistakes.
"I'm sorry... I really was wrong..." she sobbed. "I promise I will never do this again..."
After saying this, amidst the crowd's reproaches, Li Li fled the scene in embarrassment.
Following this incident, Su Xingchen gained immense popularity at school and saw a significant increase in her fanbase. Her comic works attracted more attention and even caught the eye of several publishers.
However, Su Xingchen did not let the sudden fame go to her head; she remained true to herself and continued to create the comics she loved, using her brush to depict her dreams.
She knew that the road ahead was still long, but she would keep going because she believed that one day, she would become a true manga artist. Standing in the center of the stage, Su Xingchen wore a confident smile on her face.
Su Xingchen looked at Lu Ziang, who still appeared aloof in the audience, and her heart inexplicably raced, her cheeks turning as red as a bright apple. "What's wrong with me? Why do I feel so nervous facing him..." Su Xingchen thought to herself.
She steadied her mind and flashed a big smile at Lu Ziang in the audience, saying, "Thank you, Lu Ziang! You are truly my great deskmate!"
Lu Ziang smiled indulgently, and the fluttering feeling in his heart quietly took root and began to grow... He thought to himself, "You just keep shining; I will protect you."
