Chen Feng opened the car door and helped Chen Xiaoxiao into the back seat. The taxi drove into the night, and I closely followed, my transparent body effortlessly passing through the car door.
Inside the car, Chen Xiaoxiao tightly grasped Chen Feng's hand, her gaze wandering. "Chen Feng, do you think... Lily will blame me?" She bit her lip, her eyelashes fluttering.
Chen Feng held Chen Xiaoxiao's hand in return, his thumb gently stroking her hand. "Don't overthink it; it was just an accident." His tone was calm, but a hint of panic flickered in his eyes.
I watched coldly, sneering inwardly. Accident? I knew better than anyone that my death was no accident.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Chen Feng got out first and then helped Chen Xiaoxiao out. The revolving door of the hotel slowly turned, and I floated in behind them.
The luxurious lobby was brightly lit, contrasting sharply with my cold aura. I felt a wave of discomfort wash over me, as if I were standing under a blazing sun.
Chen Feng checked in at the front desk while Chen Xiaoxiao sat on a nearby sofa, nervously fiddling with her Pillow. I floated beside her, coldly observing. "That's my Pillow," I silently accused, but Chen Xiaoxiao remained oblivious.
After receiving the room key, Chen Feng led Chen Xiaoxiao to their room. He turned on the light, and everything in the room appeared orderly, a stark contrast to my chaotic apartment.
Chen Xiaoxiao looked around and let out a soft sigh of relief. "This place... is much better than your home," she said quietly, a hint of embarrassment in her tone.
Chen Feng did not respond; he simply set down the luggage. "You rest for a bit; I'll go get something to eat," he said before turning to leave.
"Chen Feng..." Chen Xiaoxiao called out to him, hesitating before asking, "Do you... still love her?" Her eyes were filled with anxiety and hope as she clutched her Pillow tightly.
Chen Feng paused, facing away from Chen Xiaoxiao. After a moment of silence, he quietly replied, "It's all in the past." His voice was low and hoarse, revealing no emotion.
I floated in front of Chen Feng, staring directly into his eyes. "Liar!" I shouted angrily, but Chen Feng remained unresponsive. I reached out my hand, wanting to touch his face, but I could only watch helplessly as my hand passed through his body.
Chen Xiaoxiao stood up and walked over to Chen Feng, gently embracing him. "I know you still have her in your heart," her voice choked with emotion, tears streaming down her cheeks. "But... I need you too."
Chen Feng's body stiffened slightly, then he slowly raised his hand and gently patted Chen Xiaoxiao's back.
Watching this scene, jealousy and anger erupted within me like a volcano. The lights in the room began to flicker wildly, and the furniture started to shake.
"Ah!" Chen Xiaoxiao screamed in terror, holding onto Chen Feng tightly. "What's happening? What's going on?" Chen Feng was startled by the sudden change; he looked around with a wary expression.
At that moment, there was a rapid knocking at the door. "Police! Open up!"
Chen Feng's expression changed, and he quickly opened the door. Standing outside was a middle-aged man in police uniform—Officer Li. Behind him was an elderly woman in pajamas with disheveled hair—my neighbor Aunt Wang.
"What’s going on?" Chen Feng asked, forcing himself to remain calm.
Officer Li glanced at the chaotic scene in the room and then at the pale-faced Chen Xiaoxiao before asking sternly, "We received a report of unusual noises coming from here. What happened?"
Aunt Wang pointed at Chen Feng, panting heavily. "It’s him! I... I heard strange noises in my apartment! I... I was scared..."
I floated next to Officer Li, anxious to tell him the truth. "It's me! I'm here!" I shouted loudly, but no one could hear my voice.
Officer Li furrowed his brow, his sharp gaze sweeping over everyone in the room. He noticed Chen Feng's evasive eyes and a hint of suspicion arose within him. He took out his notebook and began to write. "Name?" Officer Li looked at Chen Feng.
Chen Feng took a deep breath and slowly spoke, "Chen Feng." He reached out his hand and instinctively adjusted his messy collar.
