Xin Yi arrived at the City Bureau and found Lu Jianming's office. After knocking on the door, he discovered that Lu Hanmeng was also in the office. Violent Girl had a defiant expression, indicating that the father and daughter were not having a very pleasant conversation. Upon seeing Xin Yi enter, Lu Jianming said to Lu Hanmeng, "Xiaomeng, go make a cup of tea for Mr. Xin."
To everyone's surprise, Lu Hanmeng glared at Xin Yi and coldly huffed, "If he wants tea, can't he make it himself? It's not like he has no hands or feet. Why should I do it for him? Besides, he's not my boss; I don't need to flatter him... cough cough, Director Lu, I'll make you a cup instead!"
After saying that, Violent Girl really picked up Lu Jianming's teacup and went to the water dispenser to brew a cup of tea. She respectfully brought it back to Lu Jianming's desk and said, "Director Lu, please enjoy your tea."
This Violent Girl was still angry about what happened yesterday. Xin Yi couldn't help but feel embarrassed; it seemed that from now on, his image in her eyes would just be that of a lecherous man. Seeing the strange expressions on both of their faces, Lu Jianming felt awkward and decided not to ask Lu Hanmeng to make tea for Xin Yi again. Instead, he stood up to get a paper cup to prepare tea for Xin Yi himself. Xin Yi quickly grabbed the paper cup and said, "That’s not necessary! Director Lu, please sit down; I'll do it myself."
Only then did Lu Hanmeng angrily snatch the cup back and say, "Mr. Xin is our guest at the Public Security Bureau; let me make tea for you so no one can say we lack manners!"
Lu Jianming helplessly cleared his throat while Xin Yi felt a headache coming on. Wasn't she being extremely rude right now? Asking someone like this Violent Girl to teach him manners? Maybe she should just go home and wash up.

"Drink up," Lu Jianming said to Xin Yi. "This is Mao Feng sent to me by an old comrade; it's organic and tastes pretty good."
"Thank you, Director Lu," Xin Yi smiled and replied. "I wonder what you wanted to discuss with me today?" He decided it was best to get straight to the point; being here with this father-daughter duo felt awkward as if he had done something unforgivable to Lu Hanmeng, causing her to harbor resentment.
"Well," Lu Jianming paused before continuing, "I heard Xiaomeng say you are planning an undercover operation. I’d like to hear more about what this is all about."
Xin Yi had anticipated that Lu Jianming would call him in for this reason. He explained how they had traced the drug source in Longchuan, how they had tracked and captured suspects last time, the situation regarding Yongzhou Province and the Black Dragon Society, as well as their future plans. Of course, when discussing why they needed Lu Hanmeng's involvement, Xin Yi mentioned that she had been following this case from the beginning and was well-informed about various aspects of it. He even praised her skills and her quick thinking under pressure.
Stealing a glance at Lu Hanmeng, he noticed her expression softened; flattery really does work!
After listening to Xin Yi's explanation, Lu Jianming pondered for a moment before saying, "Mr. Xin's plan is quite good; however, Yongzhou and Longchuan are two different regions in different provinces. It seems inappropriate for our Longchuan Police to handle cases in Yongzhou."
"What does it matter whether it's Yongzhou or Longchuan? Isn't it all part of the Heavenly Pride Nation?" Before Xin Yi could speak, Lu Hanmeng began to bombard her father with accusations. She said sternly, "You taught me since I was young that wherever there is evil, there should be the presence of our police. But what were the results? I believe you're aware of this as well. So if we conduct a joint investigation with the Yongzhou police, I'm afraid we might end up achieving nothing. Furthermore, even if you request a joint investigation, it's unlikely we would get approval. And even if we did, without at least a couple of months for layers of approvals and planning, we probably still wouldn't be able to take action."
"Sigh, do you think I'm not aware of all this?" Lu Jianming said with a wry smile. "But this is just how the system works. If we act independently, we'll be resented by our colleagues in Yongzhou."
The system is killing people, Xin Yi thought. He had never considered these complexities before; witnessing evil happening while feeling powerless was something he absolutely could not tolerate. "Investigating in the name of the military?" Lu Jianming sat up straight suddenly and looked at Xin Yi with great interest. "Are you... part of the military?"

"Um, may I ask if Mr. Xin Shanli is staying here?" the Wolf-Headed Young Man asked politely. What a joke! Look at you acting like a professional thug while trying to be polite.
The beautiful woman frowned and opened the door wider, calling into the bathroom, "Xin Shanli, someone is looking for you!"
"Oh, tell him to wait inside; I'm taking a shower!" A man's voice came from inside the bathroom, accompanied by the sound of running water.
The woman didn't invite the Wolf-Headed Young Man in; instead, she walked into the room and sat on the bed to watch television.

"Who are you?" The beautiful woman replied impatiently as she turned her head back. "Are you here to find Xin Shanli or me? Why should I tell you?"
