After Lu Hanmeng ran out, Shu Rui and the others approached and asked, "What are you talking about?"
"Nothing much, Officer Lu is just preparing to collaborate with me on a case," Xin Yi replied. He then turned to A Dong and said, "A Dong, you should be with Bao Kuang, right?"
Bao Kuang is the boss of the Three Tiger Hall in the Central District, and Messy Club is located in the Central District, so Xin Yi deduced that this area should be under Bao Kuang's jurisdiction. A Dong was taken aback by Xin Yi's question; he knew who Bao Kuang was—he was his boss's boss, someone he had to respectfully call 'Lord Bao.' The fact that this young man not only knew him but also called him by name suggested that he had some influence as well. So A Dong replied, "Lord Bao is my boss's boss; I'm with Brother Ping."
"Alright, I'll call Bao Kuang over now. Prepare a room for me, and keep these few people here; I have some questions for them," Xin Yi said. After that, he took out his phone and called Huang Mang, instructing him to have Bao Kuang come to Messy Club immediately.
At this point, A Dong realized that Xin Yi's status was unusual; he could summon his boss's boss with just a phone call. Such a level was far beyond someone like him to inquire about. He quickly arranged for a room upstairs and brought in those unruly little thugs. One of them, the Green-Haired Monster, still wanted to act tough but received a slap from A Dong and was scolded, "Shut up! All you do is cause trouble for me; I'll deal with you later!"
Just then, Lu Hanmeng rushed back inside and immediately asked Xin Yi, "What should we do now? Where do we start the investigation?"
"How about you go home and rest for now? I'll notify you if anything comes up," Xin Yi replied. He didn't want Lu Hanmeng to get involved directly; of course, she could be called when it was time to catch someone. But during the process, having a police officer around would make things too cautious. He preferred handling matters in his own way; bringing in the police would be like inviting trouble into his home. Although Lu Hanmeng couldn't exactly be considered trouble—if anyone resembled a wolf here, it would probably be Xin Yi himself, especially a lecherous one.
Upon hearing Xin Yi's words, Lu Hanmeng got angry. Wasn't this typical of someone who goes back on their word? She wasn't going to be sidelined! "No way! From now on, I'm sticking with you! Wherever you go, I go! I want to know everything you do!" Lu Hanmeng declared loudly.
Uh... Here comes the pressure again; that was everyone's impression. Seeing the sympathetic looks around him, Xin Yi once again chose to compromise pathetically. "Fine, if you want to follow me, then follow me. But what about sleeping at night? Are you going to follow me then too?" Xin Yi shamelessly tried to negotiate.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I? From now on, you can't leave my sight for twenty-four hours!" Lu Hanmeng decided to go all out; since everyone thought she had an ambiguous relationship with Xin Yi, she couldn't be bothered to explain anymore. She was determined not to let go of Xin Yi this time.
Well then, even the shameless Xin Yi had no way out now. If a young lady was willing to do so, what could he possibly object to? He should be secretly pleased; after all, she would even follow him while sleeping—what a big win for him!
"Then let's go to the room upstairs," Xin Yi said.
"What did you say?! You... what do you take me for?!" Lu Hanmeng's eyes widened as she instinctively took a step back and assumed a standard Taekwondo attack stance. Like an enraged lioness, she fixed her fierce gaze on Xin Yi's lewd expression and prepared to break his two front teeth if he dared touch her while also planning to kick him where it hurt most so he would live a life of luxury as a eunuch from then on.
"You are really hard to please," Xin Yi said with a serious expression. "I told you to enjoy the benefits, but you refused. Now that I’m letting you participate in this matter, you’re making that face again. Fine, if you want to come with me, then come; if not, just go home and wash up and sleep." With that, Xin Yi ignored Lu Hanmeng's incredulous expression and turned to walk upstairs. After a few steps, he finally couldn't hold back and let out a few deep breaths, suppressing the urge to laugh out loud.
Seeing Lu Hanmeng's defeated look, Shu Rui and the others couldn't help but laugh. They walked over to Lu Hanmeng and said, "Don't take him seriously; he just likes to joke around. Come on, let's go up together and take a look."
A Dong had prepared what seemed to be his office, which contained a desk, several chairs, and two long sofas. When Xin Yi entered, the small rascals were already sitting on the sofas waiting. Upon seeing Xin Yi walk in, they snorted disdainfully. If it weren't for A Dong being nearby, these rascals would have likely jumped up and started a fight with Xin Yi. Xin Yi walked in with a cold face and glanced at the small rascals sitting on the sofas. He coldly said, "This is not a place for you to sit; get up and stand against the wall!" At that moment, Xin Yi was completely different from usual; his tone was chillingly severe. Although the small rascals didn't actually get up to stand against the wall, they instinctively stopped fidgeting and sat up straight.
Only the Green-Haired Monster was quite arrogant, tilting his head defiantly and retorting, "Who the hell are you? Just because you tell me to stand up doesn't mean I will! There’s no place for you here!"
Xin Yi coldly glanced at the Green-Haired Monster and asked A Dong beside him, "Is this your biological brother?"
A Dong was puzzled as to why Xin Yi would ask him that, but he was already somewhat intimidated by Xin Yi's earlier demeanor. He nodded and replied, "Yes, he is my biological brother; his name is Axi."
"Do you know what he usually does?" Xin Yi continued to inquire without revealing any emotion.
"Well, he’s like me; he can't focus on studying. He started hanging out with a group of younger brothers when he was in his teens. These are all his little followers," A Dong said while pointing at the group of small rascals on the sofa.
"Are they part of the Three Tiger Group?" Seeing A Dong's confused expression, Xin Yi explained further: "What I mean is, have you or your boss taken them in? Are they mixed up with you?"
"Not really. Although he is my biological brother, he isn’t part of the Three Tiger Group. They don’t belong to any gang; they're just a bunch of young people hanging out together," A Dong replied honestly despite not understanding why Xin Yi was asking.
Xin Yi nodded and walked over to the Green-Haired Monster sitting on the sofa. Although the Green-Haired Monster had a tough mouth, he had witnessed Xin Yi's Kung Fu when he kicked him unconscious before. So when he saw Xin Yi approaching him, he felt nervous and unconsciously stood up from the sofa. The small rascals around him also stood up when they saw their leader getting up, adopting a defensive stance.
Xin Yi really did go over to hit someone; without saying a word, he raised his hand and slapped the Green-Haired Monster across the face. The Green-Haired Monster clearly saw Xin Yi move but couldn’t dodge for some reason. The sharp sound echoed in the room as soon as it struck. Just as the Green-Haired Monster opened his mouth to speak, Xin Yi swiftly delivered another slap across his face. The surrounding small rascals wanted to help but none dared to move; they were all intimidated by Xin Yi's imposing presence.
Only after receiving two slaps did the Green-Haired Monster regain some clarity and shouted angrily, "You son of a..." But before he could finish cursing, Xin Yi suddenly grabbed his shirt at the chest and lifted him effortlessly before throwing him aside. The Green-Haired Monster flew through the air with a whoosh and crashed against the wall with a loud bang before sliding down along it. Xin Yi had been careful with his strength; although the Green-Haired Monster hadn’t lost consciousness yet, he felt as if all his internal organs had shifted positions and couldn’t muster any strength at all—he could only slump against the wall like a dead dog.
Xin Yi walked towards the Green-Haired Monster in the corner, squatting down in front of him and coldly asking, "Tell me, who are you working with? Who sent you to the Three Tiger Group to do this kind of thing?"
A flicker of panic flashed in the Green-Haired Monster's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. He looked pitifully at A Dong beside him and weakly called out, "Brother, someone is trying to kill your little brother in your territory, and you don't even dare to say a word. If I die, how will you face our parents?"
This guy was quite cunning; at this moment, he knew that perhaps only A Dong could save him. After all, this was A Dong's territory. No matter how powerful this person was, A Dong had so many subordinates who could easily take care of him. So instead of answering Xin Yi's question, he sought help from his brother.
Although A Dong was a formidable man and generally straightforward, otherwise the Three Tiger Group wouldn't have entrusted him with managing a venue, his only weakness was this unreliable younger brother. Their parents had died early, and it could be said that they relied on each other to get through life. Even though he knew his brother was useless, he still spoiled and indulged him, which allowed him to move freely in the venue A Dong managed. Seeing his brother being beaten by Xin Yi like this made A Dong feel a bit reluctant. Now that his brother was pleading with him, A Dong couldn't care less about Xin Yi's unknown identity. He stepped forward to help the Green-Haired Monster up and said to Xin Yi, "Brother, although I don't know why you're treating my brother like this, please understand that this is my territory and he is my brother. If you can't provide a convincing reason today, even if the boss comes, I will still seek justice from you!"
"Justice?" Xin Yi scoffed in response. "Do you know what he has done in your territory?"
"What has he done?" A Dong glanced at his brother he was supporting but received no answer. He had no choice but to ask Xin Yi, "If you're referring to what just happened, I've already apologized to you; there's no need to bring it up again."
"Hand it over." Xin Yi extended his hand towards Lu Hanmeng at the door. Lu Hanmeng understood and took out the bag of Ecstasy from her pocket and handed it over. Although she hated Xin Yi with a passion, she knew this wasn't the time for a fight.
Everyone looked at the bag of Ecstasy in Xin Yi's hand; A Dong and his subordinates looked confused while the group of small-time thugs led by the Green-Haired Monster showed signs of panic.
"Now tell me, where did this come from? Who sent you to the Three Tiger Group to do this kind of thing?" Xin Yi stared coldly into the Green-Haired Monster's eyes and asked.
