Lijie crawled into the cave on the cliff and discovered a much larger open space inside. The beam of her flashlight couldn't even reach the opposite wall of the cave, and she never expected such a vast area to exist behind the cliff. Holding her flashlight and dagger, Lijie cautiously took a few steps inside, only to find that the ground was covered with a thick layer of coarse, sand-like particles. The surface layer looked fresh, resembling some kind of animal droppings. As she walked a few more steps, she suddenly felt something drop onto her face from above and quickly raised her flashlight to look up. 0

What she saw made Lijie jump in fright. The ceiling of the cave was at least two stories high, but at that moment, it was completely obscured by a mass of bats hanging from the rocks above. Those ugly creatures were upside down on the cave ceiling, and when Lijie's flashlight beam swept over them, it caused a stir among the bats. They all stared at her with their blood-red eyes, as if extremely angered by the light disturbing their slumber. Lijie knew that bats had poor eyesight and couldn't really be glaring at her, but the reflection of their small red eyes in the light still sent chills down her spine. She quickly lowered her flashlight and continued walking deeper into the cave. 0

The bat droppings on the ground were thick, and aside from the fresh top layer, everything underneath had dried out. Stepping on it felt like walking on snow, making a "crunching" sound. She wondered how many years it had accumulated. Lijie finally understood that the unpleasant smell she had detected outside came from these bat droppings. 0

After walking for a while, Lijie finally saw the cave wall. Based on her distance traveled, she estimated that the diameter of this cave was about fifty meters. She couldn't fathom how such a large cave could form inside the cliff. Upon reaching the wall, Lijie followed it forward to see if there were any other mysteries within this cave. When she turned toward the cliff side, she spotted a narrow crack in the rock through which she could see a sliver of sky outside. Several plant roots extended through this crack, burrowing into the bat droppings below. She couldn't tell whether what lay beneath those droppings was rock or soil, but it was clear that those roots must have absorbed plenty of nutrients from the bat droppings. It reminded her of the large pine tree where she had rested earlier; those roots must belong to that tree. No wonder such a robust pine tree could grow in such a barren place as the cliff—it had been nourished by bat droppings. 0

Continuing along the cave wall, Lijie's flashlight beam illuminated another shadowy area ahead. Could there be another cave inside? She carefully approached that shadow and indeed found another small cave entrance. This one was lower; from its opening, it looked about as tall as a person. She wondered if it would be just as extraordinary inside as the previous cave. As Lijie reached the entrance and shone her flashlight inside, she exclaimed in shock, "Oh my! A ghost!" After that startled cry, she turned and ran outside. However, due to panic and the thick layer of bat droppings on the ground, she couldn't run fast enough. At that moment, a scream echoed from within the small cave she had just illuminated with her flashlight, followed by two white figures rushing out towards Lijie. 0

Hearing those approaching sounds behind her made Lijie realize that escaping this cave might not be possible. Even if she did manage to get out, what awaited her outside was an unfathomable abyss—would she really jump into it? Her initial instinct to flee was just a normal human reaction when faced with fear; humans naturally want to distance themselves from frightening things. But Lijie was no ordinary person; after a brief moment of panic, her mind quickly calmed down. Since staying meant death anyway, she might as well confront whatever those two creatures were and fight for her life—whether they were ghosts or monsters didn't matter; dying in battle was better than dying from fear. 0

As she heard those sounds drawing closer behind her, Lijie suddenly slammed to a stop and turned sharply to stab at whatever was approaching with her dagger. If this strike hit whatever was behind her, it would surely be effective regardless of what it was. However, surprisingly agile, that creature managed to halt its momentum just in time and darted sideways away from her dagger's path. Then Lijie heard someone shout, "Xiao Jie! Stop!" 0

Startled by that voice, Lijie shivered and turned toward where it came from. But because it seemed too unbelievable to her—almost like her brain had stopped functioning—she turned her head but forgot to move her flashlight accordingly; thus she couldn't see who had spoken in the darkness. Yet she recognized that voice—it was someone very familiar to her: Xin Yi! Dropping both her dagger and flashlight in shock, trembling with emotion, Lijie asked, "Xin Yi? Is that you? Is it really you?" 0

"Is it really you? Xiao Jie! I thought I misheard! It's me, Xin Yi! How did you end up here?" As Xin Yi spoke, Lijie felt him come closer to her side. At that moment, she could no longer care about maintaining any composure; with a loud cry, she threw herself into Xin Yi's arms and began to sob uncontrollably. It was strange how women could be; earlier while resting on the cliff, Lijie had already shed countless tears and sweated profusely after sliding down from the cliff without having drunk any water in between—yet here she was again crying so much more now! Was there truth to that saying about women being made of water? 0

Lijie didn't know how long she cried; all she knew was that Xin Yi held her tightly without saying anything while allowing her to vent freely. Oddly enough, Roxy hadn't shown herself since dodging Lijie's earlier stab; not even a sound had come from her as if she'd never existed at all. Finally exhausted from crying, Lijie gradually stopped sobbing but suddenly screamed out loud: "You... Xin Yi! Why aren't you wearing any clothes?! What... what were you doing earlier?! Where's Roxy?" 0

Pushing Xin Yi away slightly, Lijie picked up her fallen flashlight and shone it on him—indeed Xin Yi wore nothing but a pair of underwear! To make matters worse—or perhaps funnier—he looked like he hadn't bathed in ages; his entire body and face were covered in grime. When Lijie had been crying against his chest earlier, her tears had washed away some dirt revealing an amusing pattern—a large flower shape on his chest! His face was also adorned with half an inch long beard making him look like some wild gorilla escaped from the mountains; his hair was tangled messily together as if birds could nest in it without needing any additional care at all! 0

At this moment Xin Yi's appearance surpassed even any wild character one might see online; if captured by media outlets he would undoubtedly become one of Heavenly Pride Nation's top ten most talked-about figures of the year. 0

Seeing Xin Yi like this made Lijie's heart ache yet also brought forth uncontrollable laughter because his appearance was simply too entertaining! Just imagine—a version of him resembling an internet sensation but wearing only underwear! Was this really Thousand-Man Slayer Top Assassin after ten years? Not only would others doubt him—Lijie herself couldn’t help but question it too! 0

"Go ahead and laugh if you want to, don't hold it in," Xin Yi said. "Roxy laughs so hard every time she sees me that her stomach hurts, so I've gotten used to it. You wouldn't give me a handsome and dashing compliment, would you?" 0

"Giggle..." Hearing Xin Yi say this, Lijie finally burst into laughter, tears still wet on her face. Her expression was equally strange as she clutched her stomach and squatted down, saying, "You can't call it handsome and dashing, but 'wise and mighty' is acceptable. Compared to the legendary Monkey King, you only have one less stick than him, giggle..." 0

"Well, that's not all," Xin Yi laughed back. "Not only does he have an extra stick, but he also wears a tiger skin mini skirt! All I have left is a little underwear that I haven't changed in over ten days. His treatment is way better than mine!" 0

"By the way," Lijie suddenly remembered the question she had asked earlier that Xin Yi hadn't answered. Her expression darkened as she said, "I just saw that neither of you was wearing clothes. What's going on? What were you two doing?" Xin Yi couldn't see Lijie's expression because it was so dark in the cave, and the only flashlight was shining on her. However, she could hear the tone of Lijie's voice and knew that the First Lady was angry. It seemed this girl was still very jealous. Did a man and a woman together without clothes have to be doing something? But then again, it wasn't right for a man and a woman to be together without clothes and not do anything either. Even if they really weren't doing anything, who would believe that? Damn it! If I had known Lijie would think like this, I should have done something. 0

Seeing that Lijie misunderstood, Xin Yi hurried over to grab Lijie's hand and said, "Look where your mind is wandering! We just didn't wear clothes! There's really nothing going on." 0

"Nothing going on?" Lijie clearly didn't believe what Xin Yi said; her tone was filled with disbelief that even a fool could hear. She shook off Xin Yi's hand and said, "Then why weren't you wearing clothes? Is it hot in this cave? Don't tell me you took off your clothes because you couldn't stand the heat." 0

"No, well... we didn't take everything off," Xin Yi replied helplessly. "We still have our little underwear on! How can you say we took everything off? Actually, Roxy and I tore our clothes into strips to use as ropes to try to get out of this Cliff. But they were still too short, so we couldn't escape. The torn clothes couldn't be pieced back together either, so we ended up looking like this." 0

"Is that so?" Lijie thought for a moment before responding. "But no! When I saw you two in that little hole earlier, you were clearly hugging each other! Hmph! I won't blame you for turning your clothes into ropes, but does not wearing clothes mean you have to hug each other?! What were you hugging for? Xin Yi, you're clearly just making excuses!" 0
