The middle-aged man kept apologizing to the group of young people, but they only grew more arrogant, even shouting that they would smash the beer bottles they had drunk over the middle-aged man's head. Even the best temper couldn't withstand this, and several middle-aged men stood up in unison, unable to tolerate it any longer. If it weren't for their mission, those young punks would have been dead several times over by now. How dare these little brats speak to agents from the most powerful organization in Taiwan, the Mei Organization, like that? Was the world really changing? 0

Seeing the situation escalate, the young men also staggered to their feet. One of them reached for his waist and pulled out a military handgun, slamming it down on the table with a loud bang, shouting arrogantly, "Who the hell is afraid of dying? Come at me! Let me show you if this gun is just for show!" 0

Suddenly, the entire upstairs fell silent. The middle-aged men were clearly taken aback by this sudden turn of events. They had come to secretly capture the agents at that table, but who would have thought they would encounter such reckless young rascals? Not only did it delay their secret mission, but now they were also clashing with their own side. If it weren't for being in Guokan District, they might have shot these second-generation rich kids on the spot. However, in Guokan, they didn't want to do that because their superiors had instructed them to control the situation and avoid causing any incidents that could affect relations with Taiwan Authorities and Guokan Chieftain. But now these young men were too arrogant; they had even drawn a gun. If they continued to endure this without taking action, wouldn't that be a disgrace to the Mei Organization? The atmosphere became charged like explosive gas, ready to ignite at any moment. 0

Xin Yi was quite pleased with this effect. If a conflict broke out between the two sides, he could take advantage of the chaos to assess the situation and perhaps even take a few shots unnoticed to eliminate threats. He watched the two sides argue with interest while chewing on a toothpick. However, his desire for a good show was thwarted when heavy footsteps echoed from the wooden stairs. It seemed this little restaurant was indeed lively today as another group arrived. But this group wasn't there to eat; their hurried footsteps indicated urgency—who would walk like that unless they were starving? Regardless of who they were, Xin Yi didn't care; things were already chaotic enough. 0

Coming up from the stairs was a team of about twelve or thirteen young men in plain clothes. Their upright postures and expressions revealed that they were likely military personnel or had military backgrounds. Once they reached the upper floor, they scanned the three tables before finally fixing their gaze on Xin Yi's table. The leader, a slightly taller young man, walked straight over and said loudly to Xin Yi, "Excuse me, are you Xin Yi, Mr. Xin?" 0

Xin Yi was taken aback; this was completely beyond his expectations. He had just arrived in this foreign land and someone recognized him and even called his name—how unbelievable! He remembered not asking Brother Three to arrange for anyone to meet him upon arrival. Who else could have such intelligence about his whereabouts? Could it be an agent from the Mei Organization? If these young men were agents from Mei Organization, then what about the middle-aged men at that table? No, this group looked more like soldiers than agents, and their tone seemed friendly. Who in Taiwan would be friendly towards him? Xin Yi felt this was all too strange; it was as if he had fallen into a foggy abyss. Nevertheless, he maintained his composure and replied, "How do you know about Xin Yi?" 0

The leader of the young men remained composed and didn't take offense at Xin Yi's words. He continued, "I was entrusted to invite Mr. Xin here by an old friend of yours. If you are Mr. Xin, after your meal please follow me to your arranged resting place." 0

Actually, Xin Yi and his companions had already finished eating; they couldn't leave earlier due to the previous situation. Now that someone had come with such an invitation, Xin Yi decided to go along with it and leave the small restaurant with these young men. If those middle-aged men were indeed targeting him and his group, he could use these young men's strength against them. Even if these young men turned out to be enemies as well, there would be no loss; shifting tensions elsewhere was always a good way to preserve one's strength. So Xin Yi chuckled and said, "That sounds good! We were just worried about finding a place to rest; we’ve already eaten, so please lead the way." With that, he and his companions stood up ready to follow the young men downstairs. 0

At that moment, one of the middle-aged men quickly exchanged glances with others at their table and stood up first to head downstairs. Just as he reached the stairway entrance, one of the flamboyantly dressed young men suddenly shouted at him: "Who allowed you to leave? No one gets down these stairs without my permission today!" This shout reignited tensions that had just begun to ease; each group harbored different intentions but none wanted to reveal their goals or strengths openly. It seemed everyone was mutually restrained from taking action; thus maintaining an uneasy calm on the surface until that sudden shout nearly caused everything to spiral out of control. 0

The middle-aged man at the stairway turned back casually with a smile and said, "Little Military Lord, I'm just going downstairs for a bathroom break; I can't let a living person die from holding it in! Right?" He then lifted his leg as if preparing to continue downwards when that shouting young man suddenly grabbed the handgun from off the table and aimed it at the middle-aged man's back while viciously shouting: "I think you're looking for death!" 0

Gunfire erupted immediately—not from the young man's gun but from several middle-aged men and the newly arrived team of young soldiers as well as Xin Yi's group. Everyone seized that same opportunity to draw hidden weapons and fire at what they perceived as threats. The middle-aged men's target was precisely those newly arrived young soldiers; conversely, those soldiers aimed at the middle-aged men while Xin Yi's group targeted them too. Bullets flew across the wooden floor as everyone sought cover amidst chaos; however, there wasn't much space upstairs aside from tables and chairs which offered little protection against bullets at such close range. 0

The gunfight lasted only half a minute before ending abruptly—ten bodies lay sprawled across the wooden floor: all six middle-aged men dead on site while four young men perished too along with several others sustaining minor injuries. Only two remained unharmed: one who had spoken earlier and another beside him while Xin Yi's group emerged unscathed since no one aimed at them during all this chaos; those flamboyant youths who instigated this shootout suffered no harm either—they simply weren't significant enough for anyone involved. 0

Those flamboyant youths had long since been scared stiff—some crawled under tables while others lay flat on the ground or sat dumbfounded on benches with mouths agape as if an egg could fit inside them. The worst off was that young man who had brandished his gun earlier; he lacked any real courage to fire it—he merely intended to intimidate others with it—these spoiled brats usually acted tough but were actually timid when faced with real danger. That earlier gunman hadn’t even disengaged his weapon’s safety catch! Yet now hearing gunfire erupt around him while witnessing so many bloodied bodies fall lifelessly shocked him beyond comprehension—he had never experienced such brutality before! Previously he might have only struck someone over the head with a beer bottle—a feat celebrated among his peers making him feel heroic—but today he inadvertently triggered this bloody incident where lives ended in mere moments! This scene far exceeded what this sheltered rich kid could psychologically handle; paralyzed by fear he stood there holding his gun awkwardly while urine trickled down his leg onto the wooden floor beneath him. 0

The gunfire had just ceased when two squads of armed soldiers surged from both ends of the street corner, searching each shop for suspicious individuals. One squad quickly rushed upstairs to the small restaurant where Xin Yi was located. The young man who had just spoken with Xin Yi instructed, "Carry down the fallen brothers, and get the injured brothers treated by the Military Doctor immediately. Search house by house, and make sure to leave some alive!" A soldier saluted him and replied loudly, "Yes, Camp Commander!" 0

Now Xin Yi could finally confirm that this young man was indeed a soldier, and a Camp Commander at that. She wondered which army he belonged to. If the middle-aged men who had just been eliminated were truly agents of the Mei Organization, then this young man should not be from the Taiwan Military. If that were the case, they would have been on the same side and wouldn't have fought among themselves. Xin Yi wanted to verify this, so she asked the young man, "Who are these people? Why are they enemies of your military?" 0

However, the young man abruptly shifted from his previously cultured demeanor and coldly replied, "That's something you don't need to know. Alright, you can leave now. My orders only allow you to safely exit this tavern. Go!" 0
